Well, my friend and I were having a conversation, and all of a sudden I brought up the fact that Kanda can't possible be Japanese because Japan is Akuma country basically. She said, "Oh, but I thought Japan was only 90% Akuma and 10% Human" I go and say something smart, " Yeah! But the 10% whould have to be tough s**t dude!" She face-palmed saying, "OHMYGODWHITNEY! Kanda! KANNNNNDA!"
Then 10 seconds later I get it. Kanda is hardcore. Ahahaha sweatdrop redface

You know I never thought about it.
If his home country is overrun with akuma, wouldn't it have been common knowledge that the island was akuma country. I don't think the Order would have left such a breeding ground alone if they knew about (though Central did show itself to be full of self-righteous a88holes).
And the would explain Kanda's sour demeanor a little and why he was practically raised at the order (along with Linali).

oskalaboska You know I never thought about it. If his home country is overrun with akuma, wouldn't it have been common knowledge that the island was akuma country. I don't think the Order would have left such a breeding ground alone if they knew about (though Central did show itself to be full of self-righteous a88holes). And the would explain Kanda's sour demeanor a little and why he was practically raised at the order (along with Linali). ^_^ Yeah, I just started the Manga and I'm at 10 so I don't know if they explain about it later on, but i think they might have known its just the fact is that they would have had to go up against the earl, noah, and akuma as in the anime. They probably didn't have the fire power

That is a possiblility since the only have about 50 exorcists (I think in the anime Komui stated they had about 47 pieces of Innocence).
No, maybe less since the Noah started destroying whatever Innocence they found.
Anyways, I still don't think Central would have let Japan stay the way it is if they truly knew about it. Those zealots only think that exorcists are only there to destroy akuma and that they are just martyrs for the cause.
Back to Kanda, its possible to think up some sad sob story that would be real similar to Linali's (parents ran from their homeland in a desperate attempt to save their baby boy from those monsters only to be obliterated)

Yeah, that spite had to start at a young age, though the images of the Order before Komui took over seem to be nightmare and fear inducing.

They explain SOME of it, but until Ch. 187 is out we know almost nothing, except for what Director Bak said. gonk And, I think it IS possible for Kanda to be Japanese. Not that it matters to me where he's from though. He's still cool.
