RULES
Last updated: October 20, 2009: See Post regarding mule
Description: These are the rules regarding guild event/project(s) that apply to the Team Sprocket guild.

I. {Part 1: Team Sprocket & Project Involvement}

1. If a event/project INVOLVES Team Sprocket, it must be approved by me before allowing to start on it. If its your own personal project/quest, you do not need to inform me about it.

Involving Team Sprocket includes (and is not limited to) the following:

a. Organizing an Event Thread/Guild for Team Sprocket
b. Organizing a project specifically for Team Sprocket
c. Organizing an art project thread/art freebies thread, specifically for Team Sprocket members
{Will be added onto as necessary}

This does NOT include:
a. Asking Sprockets to help out with a quest thread
b. Asking Sprockets if they would like to contribute freebie art to a art quest
{Will be added onto as necessary}

Why?
I trust you all have fantastic ideas, but I would prefer to look over the proposals first. I want as much as you do for a project/event to be a success. After gaining my approval, you will be allowed to make a thread in guild that can discuss or plan the project/event.

RULES
{Part II: Do & Do Not }
- will be updated as seen necessary -

2. DO

When constructing a project you may:

a. Recruit Sprocket members to assist you; in special cases you're also welcomed to recruit people outside of Team Sprocket to help you. *

b. Ask Sprocket members for ideas, suggestions, and feedback

c. Collaborate on a project with one(or more) Sprocket members

3. DO NOT

When constructing a project DO NOT:

a. DO NOT volunteer people to assist you (example: You can't say that Sprocket B is going to help Sprocket A with a drawing, unless Sprocket B has agreed to do so.)

b. DO NOT add members to a volunteer/member list associated with the project UNLESS you have their permission. (aka a post in thread saying they will help, a PM from them volunteering their help)

c. DO NOT promise gold & items from the reward mule without asking Newzpop Reporta Tyro Bong, first! You need her permission!!! (See post IV for more details)

d. DO NOT post the project before it has been approved by the boss!

{Part III: Suggestions }

When making a project, its good to keep some things in mind:

- Schedule: When will planning begin? When will it end?
- Collaboration: It's good to work with other Sprockets to get a project done
- Communication: : Whether it be through a thread in guild or PMs, keep people involved in the project up to date! This'll make planning a lot smoother.
- Designate a specific job for each person: Spread out the workload; have someone "specialize" in each task needed for the successful completion of the project. Keep people up to date about which job each person has.
- Try not to do too many adjustments to a project/event while it is running: During the planning phase is fine, but if you make too many adjustments during a project/event's run you're bound to get some people confused! gonk Keep adjustments minimal unless something more major is required.

{Part IV: Team Sprocket Zen}
Updated May 6, 2013

Q&A about our guild prize mule, Team Sprocket Zen
May 6, 2013: Please do not donate to the guild mule. It is not open to donations. sweatdrop

Quote:

Who is he? : Team Sprocket's mule used to collect gold & item donations to go towards events, contests, projects, etc.

Quote:

When will we know it's going to give away stuff?: I'll announce it in thread when we have actual scheduled occasions to do that.

January 2010 edit: Guild event announcements have been switched from noting it in the main thread to utilizing guild announcements. The thread's first post might be updated with guild event dates as they are planned, but the guild announcements will be used as the primary way to notify people regarding a upcoming guild event.

August 3, 2012: We are only using guild announcements to announce Team Sprocket guild activities.

Quote:

Do we have any planned events we'll be using him for?: There are some things being worked on by sprocket members. However, there are no official dates for when these events/projects will be launched yet. Ideally, the mule is going to be used to help aid future event/contest/etc efforts as much as possible.

October 2009 edit: At the moment there are no guild projects/events in planning except the October Guild event. Our current option is to keep trying to figure out more projects/events for the guild to do as a group. sweatdrop But of course, any and all item(s)/gold donated to this mule will be utilized for prizes. 3nodding

August 3, 2012: The information here was outdated. We did have an October Guild event in 2009. This was the guild event the message above was referring to. While we still will have guild events in the future, it is there are no plans at this moment for an October 2012 Guild event. This doesn't mean we won't have an October themed guild event sometime in the future; just that there are no plans of having one at this moment. Any new guild events will be announced through guild announcements.

Quote:
How to donate?: Either send him a trade or a gift. Keep in mind it accepts gifts from anyone, but nothing anonymously.

[EDIT]Should I put anything in the trade title/gift description? Please indicate that it is a donation for Team Sprocket's reward mule.
example: Donation to Team Sprocket mule
example2: Donation

August 3, 2012: The mule is not accepting donations right now. Please do not donate to it. Thank you.

Quote:

Will all Gold be given out by the mule for rewards, or used to get items for rewards?: It depends. Some of the gold donated to this mule may be used to get items to give away as rewards during different projects/events; in other circumstances, maybe gold will be given out instead. Depends on what the individual event/project has planned.

Quote:

If I donate to it will I get a guaranteed reward during the next event or contest? NO. However during event you might have a chance to win some gold & items that have been donated to the mule from Team Sprocket members. 3nodding

May 6, 2013: To further clarify, only participants in a guild event would be eligible to receive item(s) depending on the rules of that event. Donating to it would not increase your odds at receiving an item of value or not. The guild mule is still closed to donations as well.

Quote:

Is there any other mules going to be used for gold & item rewards? NO. No other mules. ( Please don't make your own sprocket donation mules for events, as it might confuse people. sweatdrop )

Quote:
How do I request to get some of the mule's assistance with gold & items for a Team Sprocket Guild project/event? If you'd like some of the mule's assistance (for gold & items) during a planned Team Sprocket event, PM me on my main account, Newzpop Reporta Tyro Bong, and I'll see what we can do. 3nodding Keep in mind there is a limit to how much it has...so don't request an absurd amount of gold/items for a contest/project/whatever prize. sweatdrop

Quote:
Can I request to get some of the mule's gold/items for a quest, event in a different guild, anything else outside Team Sprocket? Please do NOT request to use the Team Sprocket Zen mule's stored gold & items for anything outside of Team Sprocket.

Quote:
May I promise rewards from the mule without your permission?
Please do not promise rewards from this mule without asking my permission. sweatdrop

{Part V. Team Sprocket Responsibilities}

Making a Project DOES NOT guarantee that:

- DOES NOT GUARANTEE that your project will get instant approval
- DOES NOT GUARANTEE you will be able to do the Team Sprocket Project you've proposed
- DOES NOT GUARANTEE all Team Sprocket members will be ready & available to help you.

Who's responsibility is it to run a guild event?
1. Whoever runs/is involved the event is the ones responsible for its success
2. The boss's role is to approve, overlook, and oversee events made by other Team Sprocket members. The boss also does this for events that she, or other crew members, officially run themselves.
3. The boss/crew is NOT in charge of running your project for you. You made the effort to propose it, its your job to take care of it!
4. The boss/crew still however, have the right to ask you how a project is progressing and to give you feedback about project decisions/adjustments/etc.

[edit] April 28, 2009:
5. The boss/crew has the right to close inactive project/events.
6. Inactive project/events are subject to being closed, locked, or remade.
7. In the case of an event becoming inactive/abandoned by its organizers, the boss/crew has the right to assume control over the event until it reaches its final completion.
8. This does not mean, that in all cases a project/event goes inactive that the boss/crew will assume responsibility until it meets completion. What will be done with inactive events/projects will be decided on a case by case basis.

Who is responsible for project/event rewards?
1. This depends on the project/event.
2. If in the case it is arranged that the mule will be using rewards, the mule is responsible for handing out the rewards.
3. IF the creator of the project/event, or people associated with planning the project/event promise to hand out rewards, THEY ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REWARDS. NOT TEAM SPROCKET. Team Sprocket can't assume responsibility for something it did not agree to be responsible for.

{Part VII. When you make a project or event...}

A project/event thread may be made after meeting approval of the Boss. However, to get it improved it is recommended that the project/event satisfies the following requirements:

EVENT/PROJECT requirements

1. For shared activity(s) (such as events/project) that all of Team Sprocket has the opportunity to join if they want to. No sprocket may be excluded from a guild event/project. Events/project activities for Sprockets are meant for all Sprockets to enjoy.

2. Intention to complete an event:

a. SCHEDULE: Event with a CLEAR beginning, middle, and end. It is never a "never-ending" event with no end. Create a clear beginning as well as an ending date for the event. An ending date does not have to be announced the moment of an event's launch (ALTHOUGH THIS WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL), but no event (unless clearly given permission otherwise) should last any longer then one month from the thread launch date. If the ending of a event is decided at a later date (sometime after thread launch), a seperate thread needs to be created announcing to the guild that the event will be ending on such and such a date.

Please contact the boss if you are unable to finish an event AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

3. Intention to complete a project:

a. FINISH WHAT WAS STARTED: A project should not be left unfinished. If a project is a continuous effort, it is fine to not have a definite ending date in mind. But if people are relying on your to get a project finished/relying on other people apart of a project to get it finished, then there is a problem. A project is the responsibility of all people that contribute to it.

Please contact the boss or another crew member if you run into any difficulties completing a project.

{Part VIII. Penalty for Incomplete Projects/Events}

When you host a event or project, it is your own sole responsibility to ensure its success. Team Sprocket understands however, that things may get in the way of you completing or working on a project.

Some reasonable explanations for incomplete projects/events include, but are not limited to:
1. Computer Problems
2. Inaccessibility to a computer
3. Busy with Work/School related things
** Please remember to contact the guild leader ASAP if you are having difficulties completing a project/event**

HOWEVER, if you abandon a project/event without notice, leaving its participants lost and confused, this is a bad thing. There are proper steps to closing a project. It is encouraged that all Sprocket members follow these steps.

These are as follows:

Steps how to properly close an incomplete event/project thread

1. Notify the thread(s) involved with the project/event, that due to [whatever reason; you don't have to specify the reason], you will not be able to finish the project/event. (It is up to you whether or not to pass on the event/project to another person.)

2. PM the people involved with the project/event explaining that you will no longer be able to lead the project/event. You do not have to give specific reasons why; just make it clear that the project/event is closed.

3. Finally, PM the boss regarding the matter.

From there your thread(s) will be locked and the project/event will be considered -CLOSED-.

If you do not follow the proper steps in closing an event or project thread, there is a chance that will not be allowed to host another event/project again within a certain time frame. (Think of it as a project/event probation of sorts). This event/project "probation" can last as long as a month and stretch onto several months depending on situation. However, this would not mean that you would be barred from participating in other projects/events. You would just be barred from leading the project/event for a specific amount of time.

{PART IV. Closing a Completed Project or Event thread}

If your event/project is complete, there are certain steps you need to take to close it.

Steps how to properly close a completed event/project

1. Remind the thread(s)/participants/leaders of the final closing day of the event/project in advance. Alert the thread(s)/PM participants if certain obligations associated with the event/project have been left incomplete. Decide what to do about the incomplete situations.

2. Complete all promises made by your thread (prizes, art, whatever).

3. On the day of the event closing, make an announcement regarding the event's closing, as well as winners, and any other relevant information to the event.

3. Finally, PM the boss regarding the matter.

From there your thread(s) will be locked and the project/event will be considered -CLOSED-.

Failure to do these final steps does qualify you as a candidate for event probation (see post previous to this one).

{X. Contests }

Please do not place contests in this guild (Team Sprocket) without the guild captain's permission.

Contests hosted in Team Sprocket will be treated the same as guild events: which means the same rules for Team Sprocket project/events apply to contests in this guild.
