This is the introductory thread.
Here is where you can come to introduce yourself. How were you sucked into the Sookieverse? Whose your favorite character? How far along in the series are you? General things like that.
Let me introduce myself. I'm Kate, resident Sheriff of this area, and all around cool gal. I've been around Gaia since 2005 but I've been a fan of the Sookie Stackhouse series since around 2004.
My best friend in high school introduced me to the first book after she read it. The biggest draw, for us, was that it took place in our part of the world. Both of us were born and raised in northern Louisiana so it was great to see our homeland being represented. Heck, the city that I live in now is mentioned several time throughout the series.
Needless to say I was hooked from the start. And this past fall when True Blood was released my obsession grew even more. Especially after episode. Aka, the Eric debut episode.
My obsession with the Viking vampire borders on the insane. I have never obsessed over a character so much. In fact, it was my search to find a role playing partner to find Eric that led me to create this guild. Honestly I was surprised that one didn't already exist but, hey, more fun for me.
Now I'm just waiting for Dead and Gone to come out. I can't wait!

Looks like I'm up next. I'm Belle, and I help Komori. I've been around Gaia since '05, same as my buddy, except she introduced me to the series a little later on.
I liked the series from the start, the whole premise of it. Plus I couldn't put the first book down and read it several times and went to go get the next few books the very next day.
I loved reading the entire series and it's been a ton of fun waiting for True Blood to come out. I really love the guy who plays Eric; he's a perfect match.
Unlike my dear Komori, I'm not obsessed with Eric. I don't have a particular favorite character, but I like Eric and Sam. Not to mention Pam is awesome.
I'm the one who usually helps Komori with her Eric fixes (since I play Eric in roleplays for her) and it's quite fun.
Dead and Gone needs to come out sooner. My book list has gotten shorter; it's only about a foot high now.

Uh, hi, I'm Jonathan, which Jack is short for, and I've been on Gaia since 2006.
I was introduced to the book series when I bought Dead Until Dark at a yard sale for 25 cents, Canadian. Also, I bought a bunch of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards.
I'm one of those fantards, who rips True Blood to pieces for not following the book completely, especially when it contradicts with the books.
I love werewolves, so naturally, my fave character is that one guy who did all that stuff that two nights, and went to that one club, and dated that one girl. Alcide Hervaux. Also, I LOVE Debbie; she's hilarious.
EDIT: It's a tie between Bubba, Alcide and Debbie.
I have created an unholy legion of Sookieverse fans, lending books to 5 -more or less- people, who are now all fans.
I eagerly await Book 9, though I have the latest Artemis Fowl, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton (Re-re-reading it), and another Charlaine Harris book (Not a S.S. book).
Believe it or not, I'm a telepath in "real life." Not on a Sookie-level, but I can generally get thoughts and dig into their minds for secrets (Oddly, I only get the sensual thoughts...And you'd never guess what some people did.).
In my spare time, I enjoy making others miserable, reading, surfing the Internet, and being a know-it-all.

Yea, I'm Nyx. Kate and Belle already know me through an obscene amount of RPs we do.
I know Belle through school and she was the one who got me hooked on Gaia and on the Sookie books when she walked up to me one day with a stack of 4 books, shoved them into my arms and said "Read them or else." I fear her 'or elses'. They aren't pleasant.
The big Viking lughead makes me laugh all the time because well... he's Eric. I pity Sookie for all the crap be drags her through, but she deals with it and continually outsmarts him. Which is probably more funny.
I have no cable so I end up watching True Blood online and I have to say, Alexander Skarsgard plays a glorious Mr. Northman. Especially when he starts speaking Norse on the show which is amazing.
I'm impatiently waiting for the next book which I intend to steal from Belle the minute she shuts it, though I've got the eleventh Dresden book to keep me company in the mean time. In my spare time I like to read and teach myself obscure languages. Right now I'm working on Old Norse (Icelandic).
Oh yea, and I enjoy poking Eric with a spoon.

Hi i'm Angel or better known as vampire_queen31. I became a big fan of the true blood series when I saw the first episode on tv and after seeing season 1 I started to read the books. I have grown to love Sam, Bill, and Eric in the HBO series but in the book my favourites are Sam, Eric, and Quinn.
I wish I could meet the guys from the show cause they're hott!!! but I will wait patiently till they do appearances here in Toronto. My friend king jack above ^ has been lending me the books and i have only read up to number 7, but i have learned paitence and will wait for the teacher at our school to finish reading number 8 so i can catch up.

Hi, I'm Casey, well known here as janny, january, freezey, jan jan... etc.
I think I got into gaia around 05 or 04.
I first saw the series on the internet and later found out that there was a book series. I read all the books in about a week, if not less. I can't wait until the next book! Counting down the days!
I am also an Eric fanatic.... Ahhh.... haha, I love the viking.
I really hope season two starts following the books more!

Greetings! Esmeralda Shadowkin here, aka Esme. I've been on Gaia since '07, and a big fan of the Sookie Stackhouse books since my best friend told me how much she'd been enjoying True Blood on HBO. I live in the mountains and I don't have cable, so I'll be watching the show on YouTube starting right away. I've read the entire series of books twice, and I too am bouncing up and down waiting for Dead and Gone to come out.
Eric is great. Alcide is more my type, but I'm not really into werewolves. I also like Calvin a lot because he's such a neat character. And Pam gets a lot of the best lines, especially when she and Sookie have that conversation about baby showers.
I'm also a big fan of The Dresden Files. Jim Butcher rocks!

Hello all! I'm Cayt and I've been on Gaia off and on since 2003, though I took a 3 year hiatus at one point. razz
I didn't get into the books for quite some time. I started reading them around the time that True Blood started. I didn't watch the show at first, but I heard my aunt talking about it. She loved the show and had been flying through the books as well. I picked the first one up at the library and ended up finishing the series before my aunt. Right now I'm rereading everything, in preparation for the next book. I'm on book four. I also need to get the short stories because I haven't read them yet.
I got my one work friend into the books and she can't put them down. Next I intend to addict my mother and grandmother.
My favorite character is definitely Eric. I love, love, love him! He's about the only thing that doesn't piss me off in the True Blood show. I watched the whole thing online after I finished the books and I pretty much hate it. I'm sure I'd have liked it if I'd watched it on television before I read the books, but all of the storyline changes piss me off. I know it's a totally different thing and just based on the books loosely, but I don't care. I want it exact. Eric is pretty hot on there though so I'll continue to watch. razz

I began to take interest when I saw True Blood I was addicted! Later after the 1st season ended I spent most of my Christmas money on getting the books. I've read all of the books that have been released so far.
My favorite character is Eric(no duh!) but in the 3rd book I really liked Alcide! All the characters are great but some have flaws to big for me!

Hi I go by Fancy misslady on here but I RP as sookie usually. I started reading the sookie stackhouse series in 2003 and i've been hooked ever since. I think the biggest draw is the connection I have with the main character, we have a ton in common. Our attitude, physical makeup, hometown, friends, boyfriends, and jobs are pretty much identical (without the whole vampire and supes part). I'm really into the True Blood series but of course the books are way better ^.^. I haven't been on gaia long, not even a year yet, but I love it and I have fun. I'm so happy this guild is on here and i can share my obsession with others. heart

Hello! I'm Kyoko on here. One of my friends told me about True Blood after it first came out. After watching this first season, I was really enjoying it. We'd talk about each episode after it was over ^_^ I actually work in a bookstore and the book series is, as you can imagine, way popular. I started reading them at work about 2 or 3 weeks ago. It takes about 4 - 5 days for me to get through one book using my half hour lunches and 15 minute breaks.
After reading the first 4 (30 pages left to finish book 4), I must say, the show really pisses me off too. As much as they've changed and made up, I have no idea how they can even begin to follow any of the other really cool plot lines in the rest of the book series. And yes, I too am an Eric fan! Bill really irks me in the books

Hello I'm Aeris I've only been on Gaia for about a year now. After I read Twilight I was searching for something more so I went to my local bookstore which is really tiny and saw the True Blood version of Dead Until Dark so I picked it up and read all 8 in about a month in a half. After reading the third book I decided to watch the series and I loved it also!!!! My favorite character is Eric, although in the beginning I did like Bill until a couple books later when Eric came more into view. So now here I am the obsessed Viking-Vampire lover that can't wait until Dead and Gone comes out Wednesday and for the new series to start the trailers look awesome!!!

I'm used to Rap, Rappy and Doll.
I've been reading Sookie since about 2004 or so. I stumbled across Sookie from reading Bite, a composition of short stories from a number of authors.
I fell in love with the characters immediately.
I am a somewhat fan of the show, but the bastardization pisses me off to no end.
And I admit that I loathe those who are all "OMG I luv Sookie! I didnt kno it wuz a book?!1"

Well, I just became a TrueBlood/ Sookie Stackhouse Series fan about around Jan. when I started rping with a girl playing Pam. She told me about the shows and books and I was hooked since. After that I read all teh book in less than 2 weeks. Then I got the last book for an early Birthday present. My Birthday is on the 28th this month. I'm not new to gaia I have another account witchoftheeast I just wanted this one so I can rp as Sookie. Sookie, Eric, And Pam are my favorites.
