My favorite book is Memoirs of a Geisha, and today I rented bewitched and one of the previews was for Memoirs of a Geisha, as in a movie!!! I squealed so loud with delight when I saw it, my brother and dad came rushing into the living room asking what happened. *gasm* I'm so happy, I can't stop dancing. Of course, movies can never replace a book, but still!

Another of my favorite books is Cloud of Sparrows. Now, if they made a movie out of that, I think I'd have an orgasm as soon as I saw the title...

Reccomendation.....?

Songs of the Gorilla Nation {My Journey Through Autism by Dawn Prince-Hughes - "Having suffered from a lifelong inability to relate to people in a meaningful way, Dawn was surprised to find herself irresistably drawn to these great primates... (This book) is more than a story of autism, it is a pean to all that is important in life."

Battle Royale by Koushun Takami - (the novel, not the manga, obviously) "Criticized as violent exploitation when it was first published in Japan... Battle Royale is a Lord of the Flies for the 21st Century, a potent allegory of what it means to be a young and (barely) alive..."

For books, I would say The Lovely Bones, Intensity, The Pelican Brief, and The Firm. All 4 of them are great reads that'll keep you turning the pages 'til you reach the end. *and also, all 4 were key in inspiring me to becoming a writer*

For movies, I'd recommend Spirited Away and Akira, as they are both waterwarks in great filming and great storytelling. And for live action stuff, Bean and Wallace and Gromit are my favorites. Funny to the end and always keeps ya guessin'.

I just have a lot of recommendations, so I'm just going to add them to the first post. And remember, folks, you don't just have to limit things to books and movies. If you see anything you reccomend, mention it.

And I'm adding a manga/comics section.

I am recommending Avenue Q. It's the muppets singing songs with names such as "The Internet is for Porn" and and "You can be as loud as the hell you want (While making love)".
