We were at the St. Pattie's day parade and my friend Keighlyn tried to push in her mouth piece. Instead, she ended up bending the neck of her poor sax. Then, two years later, at bound camp, she was walking with the sax and she started to fall, and instead of catching herself, she pulls up the sax and strips all the skin off her elbow. It was horrible. *shudder* But I guess that's the ultimate love for your instrument. lol.

I would have to say 2...
1st... We were in the stands playing at a football game. The bell of my friend's sousaphone falls off....behind the stands... from the top... Oops. It just barely missed someone too smile
2nd... Same friend, Silver sousaphone this time. He set it down, and it caught on the buttons of his jacket. Looking at it later there were like 5 parallel HUGE scratches on the back of the bell because of his uniform. It was hilarious to watch his reaction...
Okay, one more I just thought of. Practice on the field. My friend is lined up with the bass drum behind him. Section leaders were apart to watch their sections from the sidelines. I was one of them. My friend ties his shoes, sets the sousa (silver) down on the ground. My band director starts the marching... STUPID bass drum walks right over my friend and his tuba. HUGE dent in the Bell... and the bass drum had to have a new head. Domino effect with the rest of the percussion... biggrin

Well, if it's injuries to instruments then there was an instant where someone's clarinet was broken.
For some reason, the boys had decided to play this new game called "Toss the Midget". Basically, since Emily was so small, they would pick her up and throw her to one another. Well, long story short, Ryan threw her and the other person didn't catch her and she landed ontop of Alicia's clarinet and broke it. That was an odd one to explain to her parents.
As for ourselves, my band has a stand tune for Darth Vader's theme. Sadly, it's brass only. So all the woodwinds have visuals that we do. The clarinets hold our instruments in front of us and puch them into the air. I guess it's supposed to appear threatening. Well basically, my clarinet got caught in the sequins on my vest. So when I tried to push my clarinet up and away from me, my jacket pulled it back and I ended up punching myself in the face. Sad thing is, this has happened more than once.

Well I have a few, 1, I was baby sitting(at my school for a meeting) and I had my flute, so I decided to play a lullaby in the room, when I was done, I left the room, my friends who were also babysitting, decided to play a game of what we call "Hide and Attack". The object of the game was to try to not get caught by the person who was it, sort of like"Grounders" but with people chucking stuff at you. I decided to pretend to hit my friend with my flute, but when I pulled it back my embouchure flew out and hit the wall (which was on the other side of the room, yea, I was at the opposite end). When I was looking for it, apparently there was a dent in the wall, and my embouchure was dented scream .
2, I was at band practice one day, and we were finishing class, my friend accidentally hit me on the elbow with her flute, and I accidentally jabbed myself in the stomach with my flute gonk .
3. My cadet corp and I were at band camp, and we were going outside for some practice, the drumajor didn't warn me about there being a pole in front of me, I was playing and since I couldn't look up because I would get out of time, I ended up running into that metal pole gonk and that seriously hurt me and my flute D:.
There are some more, but I'm sure you wouldn't like to hear anymore, if you do, feel free to Pm me.

One of this year's freshmen apparently managed to break his middle school band teacher's nose with his tuba. XDXDXD I'm not exactly sure how, I've just heard the story.
And I heard that another middle schooler SAT ON his piccolo and BROKE IT IN HALF.... that poor, poor piccolo... crying
One of our clarinets had blue electrical tape holding his clarinet together for a good year after he dropped it on the way back from the field and managed to break off the cork part that holds the bell to the body.
Yeah... our band is rather klutzy.

Well instrument related my friend 3 years back at an Auburn game got his Trombone knocked down 45 stairs when he went to get water, I found that out when I asked how it got beat up.
The other accident actually happened today we did our recruitment concert 3 times and the third kids just wouldnt stop flowing into the auditorium so we kept getting false alarms to come out of hiding and wait at the door. Well we were told to haul a** to the other side of the auditorium because we had no slide show this year. Anyway, about the 4th time we actually had to go so Blake decided to run with his French Horn he tripped fell and bent the bell backwards. Ryan my section leader said at least bend it back so then he bent it back the opposite way and then when we got to the other side the funny part is yet another group started coming so we decided to stand still and maybe they wouldnt see us.
