Most of you know what these things are, But upon asking several people..
A lot of you believe different things and I'm interested in hearing what they are.
So.. Have you seen these shadow people or shadow animals?
Is there a difference between the shadow animals and people?
How do you begin to see them?
What are your stories?
And lastly, What the hell are they?
I'm hoping this will strike up a conversation :3

Can you be a bit more specific? When I hear "shadow-people" I think of shades or aspects of the dead that are here in the world of the living.
I haven't had any harm from them the times that I have seen them.
Once I saw one (a Labrador) in the middle of the road. Strangely enough my father saw it too and I freaked out and told him to watch out as I thought it was an actual dog. Upon looking at it (I had to do a double take) it vanished.

okat 1st i have to know when you say shadow people are you refering to the black kind blobs that stand out even when it is pitch black? if you are then i know what it is, if now idk and would liek to find out

okay i have experianced this myself and its just the way you precive spirits, or the way to see them. Just regualr spirits or demons or anythign really of the spirit relm. I personally have been bale to seperate my spirit eyes (thats just what i call them, its like i have two sets of eyes one for physical and one for spiritual, same with my ears) It just got too overwhemling for me so i did this. now its much easier for me.

YES, creepiest thing ever.(read down to experiences)

I'm not sure, other than the fact that one is animal and on is a person.

I'm not really sure, I saw two of them, or mabey it was one twice.
What are your stories?
Well, I was in the kitchen and I randomly looked over down the hall. I saw this 'literally' shadow man like thing walk from the office room to my bedroom.
After a couple of days my family and I went to go see my aunt, about 5-10 minutes after we got there I saw a reflection of a shadow man thingy go from the room we were in(didn't see him go into the room we were in) into the wall, which goes out of the house.
So I guess, in a way, it followed me.
And lastly, What the hell are they?
Well, I'm not sure really. I think they're spirits and all I really know is that they're not human. But that doesn't mean their mean or bad or anything.

Thank you for posting this, I hope to find answers.
You see, I think one watches me, but it is afraid of me. Kinda weird.
One morning I woke up early to clean the house and surprise my mom for her birthday. It was probably aroun 4 o clock, and the only light on in the house was the kitchen light. I wasn't thinking about the dark or anything, I was half asleep and cleaning the dishes.
My cats suddenly were freaking out, so I look, and I saw a shadow child. Not in my periph, just full on saw it. It was an exact outline of a human, a definite black shape that stands out from the surrounding darkness. It was in a sitting position, but once it knew I was staring at it, it got up, clumsily stumbled, and ran across the hall into the bathroom.
We moved out of state (for different reasons, the child didn't bother me, it was just a curious incident), and just a few weeks ago I woke up in the middle of the night and saw another shadow person at the foot of my bed, staring at me. (I am not sure if it is the same one, this one appeared to be taller). This one didn't run, so idk. neutral
Maybe its just a way for people to see ghosts. Maybe they appear shadow-like because the inner eye isn't developed enough. That is my theory, anyway. mrgreen

i believe that reality is thin, as in sometimes other plains of existance seep into ours by accident. It is some of the magick community's fault for this enomoly, however i do not blame anyone as magick is an ever present consistency to our existance. As using magick tends to draw energy from every plain of existance, sometimes the barriers between two (or more) plains will be temporarily sapped and thats where they leak into our world. (The bonding of the two worlds is something which i believe is not reversable) However when these two worlds rub together (so to speak) Something in between is made, and thats where I think these "Shadow Beings" come from.

It is some of the magick community's fault for this enomoly, however i do not blame anyone as magick is an ever present consistency to our existance. I get asked that all the time, its ok. No its just the way that some people belive it is to be spelled, it was spelled with a k originally i believe... I dont exactly know the story behind that but i believe magick is supposed to be spelled that way, but by all means, spell it how you want.

Aleister Crowley, a magician revered by some of the occult community (or at least respected by many) popularized/invented the spelling. It was to divorce his notion of magic (i.e. the occult force) from other types of magic (stage magic/illusionism [and, if you believe particular folks, any magic practised by non-Thelemites]), as well as it having a quirky new age feel and because it has some sort of numerological significance. Nowadays, most people use it to mean either a) Thelemic magick or b) "real" magick as opposed to illusionism, but it's ultimately personal preference, really.

One thing caught my eye: numerology significance. I can understand that; I dabbled a little bit in it. Very interesting.

hmmm... If your going by my theory its quite possible that they arent, but if (only if) you belive it i think that if two plains rub against each other long enough the beings becoming solid is entirly plausible.
