Dra'nahfiel had been enthralled in working out a new spell that his master had given him one day to figure out. It had been hard going at first, and he had nearly destroyed his quarters nearly three times before he had finally figured out the right structure of incantation, wording, and melody in which to speak the spell out. He was happy with the rewarding results from his hours of working on the spell. In front of him on his desk, in the place of what had used to be a bar of silver was now a pure bar of platinum. Sure...so the spell hadn't changed the nature of the silver, but it would last for several months, which was long enough to scam a merchant with.
Once the bar returned to its' natural state, the merchant would have no idea who had scammed him. Which was exactly what Dra's master had wanted. Dra couldn't help but wonder who the merchant or individual was that the master wanted to screw with so badly. Whoever it was must have done something that had angered him quite badly.

Dra turned to blow out his candles and head off to bed when a sequence of knocks came on his door. He felt a lightness come over him as he strode over the door and opened the door, knowing exactly who was on the other side. He was rather surprised however when to his surprise, Imordana wasn't there alone. By her side, a rather short strange young drow stood, his hand clinging to her dress in a rather childish fashion. Dra held back a sigh and greeted them with a bright smile, saying.
"Imordana! Please do come in. And who is your lit..friend?"

Gir blinked at the strange building that his Lady had taken him too. They had talked about him spending a few days with a friend of his Lady after the encounter with Brother Gir. Gir did not understand what the danger was, after all the game had been fun! He had hoped to play it again but his Lady had asked him not to, and he always listened to his Lady. So he had what was left of the bag of candy she originally bought him and the new clothes she had given all packed up. The servants had packed him a basic kit of cleaning supplies, after all Gir had none of his own, and a few other necessaries.

He looked up at the building the female was taking him to in wonder. This was a place magic was practiced. His eyes were alight with childish glee as he thought of all the magic tricks he might be able to see. His Lady knocked on a door and a strange male wearing blue clothes answered. He addressed his lady with more familiarity than a proper male should have. He didn't like this male, he should treat his Lady with more respect! She was a Lady of Lloth and deserving of the utmost in reverence. He clung to Imordana's dress much like a child entering a new place for the first time. His fushia eyes looked up to his lady in question.

Imordana smiled slightly at Dra, noting his less than formal addressing of her with a slight cringe. She was going to have to talk to him about that later on. It would be wiser after all to not be so familiar when addressing her, especially when she brought new people to meet him. Though..Gir wouldn't be one to talk about such things though he was sure to have noticed the lack of respect that Dra had shown her. That was one nice thing about Gir. He knew when to keep his mouth shut, unlike most males.

She shot a warning look at Dra before she answered saying, "Mage Dra'nahfiel, this is my associate and friend Gir. Would you mind entertaining him for the night? I would do it myself, if I didn't have prior commitments."

Her choice of words were not lost on Dra. He bowed to her saying. "Forgive me Lady Imordana, I didn't mean you any disrespect when I addressed you earlier."
Then he turned and slightly bowed to the young male, who was still hanging on Imordana's dress. He couldn't help but eye him a little curiously. There was something different about this one, of course the ever changing clothes were one of the things that suggested this but Dra could sense something else about the young male.
"I'm pleased to meet you Sir Gir," "So then, how long do you suppose you will be occupied for Lady Imordana?" Dra really had no problem doing a favor for her, however the length of the time he would have to spend watching the fellow really couldn't be too long otherwise he would miss a chance to study for his next test.

"I shouldn't be longer than a few hours, four at the most. Tonight I shall be attending a matter at the House; it appears that Gir'bran'ur has finally lost his mind. He tried to attack Gir last night while I was occupied with..other matters." Here Imordana slightly blushed, remembering the blissful hours that she and Dra had shared.

"That should be fine then. Sir Gir and I should be fine for that long. If you wish I could place a protective spell on Gir, so that no one in House Fi'reth'ul could harm him. If Gir'bran'ur attacked him, then it won't be long until Ad'hemar follows suit." Dra replied seriously.

"That may be a wise thing to do," Imordana replied then leaned in and whispered in his ear softly. "I would avoid doing any elaborate or dangerous spells around him, I believe he can duplicate them..or use illusions to make people believe he has. He's quite a gifted illusionist Dra. More so than any other I have ever seen. Be careful with him." Imordana pulled back, smiling genuinely at Gir, and slowly detached his hand from her dress saying to him gently.

"Gir, you will be staying with Dra'nahfiel for a little while tonight. I shall be back in two to four hours tops. Try and be nice for him. Dra is one of my few friends, just as you are. " She leaned over and gave Gir a hug before she turned and departed from the room, leaving Dra and Gir regarding each other coldly for several moments.

Gir eyed the man as he spoke with his Lady about his little visit. He would be away from his Lady for several hours while she delt with Brother Gir. Brother Gir must have been bad to have the Lady wish to punish him. Gir thought his Lady should have punished this mage as well for such a disrespectful address. At least he apologized for being so rude in addressing her but he still didn't like him. But Gir's dislike of anyone was just as childish as any of his other manners. If his Lady had not been there he would have stuck his tongue out at the man. But his lady reguarded this mage as a friend, so Gir would behave himself.......as much as Gir could behave.

He looked so sad and pitiful when his Lady untangled his hand from her dress and spoke of her leaving. He pouted and had the cute puppy eyes, after all he did not want to be out of her company. How he would miss her. But he nodded to her words.

"Yes! Gir will stay with Dra'nahfiel until his Lady returns for him! Gir will try to be a good boy because it will please his Lady!"

He hugged her back and waved as she walked away, then turned to look at the male he was suppose to be a good boy for. His eyes had that creepy "stare right through you" look. But Gir was reguarding him, seeing how he would react. Also he was waiting for the other to do something, otherwise Gir would just kinda stand in that same spot until Imordana returned. But something broke within him to cause him to be a bit more social, much like a younger brother wishing to test his elder as he was babysitting.

"Gir is his name! He is not a Sir so Gir will be how he is addressed pleasethankyou. You are a mage, a friend of his Lady?"

Dra'nahfiel felt a slight twinge of annoyance mixed with curiosity when Gir spoke to Imordana. The childlike expression of the teenage looking drow was rather off putting to him. There definitely was something off about the young drow. Perhaps he should have asked Imordana before she had left, so that he would have a little more idea of how to deal with the young drow.

Dra'nahfiel regarded the young drow silently, trying to get his head wrapped around the fact that Imordana considered him a friend. If she said his powers of illusions were useful then they must be. He knew Imordana didn't use that phrase very often and when she did she meant it completely.

"Then I shall call you Gir. Yes, I am a good friend of Lady Imordana. Now then..what should we do while we're waiting? There has to be a sava board around here somewhere if you feel inclined to playing. Or..I could find some books with pictures if...uh..that would be of interest to you." Dra suggested, feeling rather frustrated not knowing how he was supposed to entertain the young drow.

Perhaps..if the Gir felt up to it, he could entice him to show off some of his illusions. Though..Dra knew just how convincing illusions could be and he didn't really feel that it would be wise to ask to see some of Gir's work. He'd rather have a clear head and not be distracted from the task that Imordana had asked him to do.

Gir simply watched Dra watching him. He wasn't bored merely observing how the other male reacted. It was difficult for two males favored by one female even though Imordana had no sexual intentions for him. He smirked a bit as the male started naming off things to do. He could tell the male was uneasy around him. Then again so many others were. Then Dra said the magic word, "play". Oh how Gir loved to play. And made up games were more fun than any card game.

"Gir likes to play. Dra will play a game with Gir? Gir has fun games." He giggled much like a child before suddenly disappearing. His voice still rang from the spot but it could easily move. "Dra must find Gir! Play Hide and Seek with Gir!"

He slowly moved around the room, keeping himself hidden from sight. He decided to explore the room a bit while Dra tried to find him. He liked the pretty colors of the liquids Dra kept.

Though Dra was startled by Gir's sudden disappearance he didn't let it show on his face. Instead he started murmuring a spell under his breath..and seconds later he saw that Gir was exploring the room, only inches away from his shelf of potions.

Dra felt a cold sweat come over him, as the illusionist peered closer at the potions.

"Gir? Where are you Gir?" He asked, making his voice sound uneasy which wasn't hard since he already knew where the illusionist was. It was hard for any illusionist to get one over on him, especially when he had a slight affinity towards making them himself. Nothing as elaborate or as fancy as most, but enough that invisibility ones could be easily broken. He didn't want the younger drow knowing that he could see him, otherwise the whole "game" wouldn't be all that challenging or as fun as Gir had imagined it.

"Gir?" He asked again, stopping to peer inside his closet, and then proceeded to stop in front of his tall backed chair which was only a few feet from where Gir was actually standing.
"What are the rules of this game? What happens when I find you?"
PostPosted: Thu Mar 12, 2009 5:54 pm

Gir smiled to himself as he watched Dra look around the room. Obviously the mage had some sort of sense of where he was. After all most mages would be rather upset if someone suddenly disappeared....or at least appeared to disappear. Here was the trick, Gir hadn't disappeared. In fact, before Dra had cast his own spell he had made a clone of himself. Gir was actually behind the very chair that Dra was infront of. Oh this made the game fun. Gir was quite devious when it came to mages. He had been attacked by them before and none were very fun. But this one would prove interesting.

How could Gir see what Dra was doing? By the reflections cast on all the shiney things in Dra's room. Of course Gir was already changing them, making himself not appear in them. It wasn't exactly disappearing, more like shaping what he saw, and reflections were so much easier. Already manipulations of the mind. Gir's clone suddenly turned to Dra and smiled.

"If you find Gir, he will share a secret with you!" The clone now disappeared, leaving an empty room.

Dra'nahfiel went very still and a look of panic swept across his face momentarily before he stilled his features. He suddenly sighed, and closed his eyes; letting his magic get a feel for the room to 'see' where the young drow might have gone.
With an illusionist one could never trust their eyes, so it was possible, Dra reasoned, that everything he had been seeing had been shaped and twisted around by the young illusionist.

"What sort of secret is it?" Dra asked, half wondering it would be worth his time to "seek" out the illusionist.

It didn't take very long for his magic to find Gir. And when it did, Dra felt a sense of keen satisfaction. One could never fool a mage for long, they always figured out a way to discover what were lies and what was the truth. And now Dra knew that Gir had been hiding from him the whole time, and the earlier appearance had been a clone of himself. This illusionist was very convincing and quite gifted.

He giggled a bit. By now the mage would have figured out where he was. Mages could "see" magic in ways most other magic users couldn't. Most especially Gir as he couldn't even control his with the greatest efficiency. How did Gir know so much about mages and their magic? Perhaps Dra had stumbled on a way to get some sort of history out of Gir. History about his family? No, that was erased from his memory for good. But Gir had the most amazing memory thanks to his magic.

Once he could recreate something he had scene, the magic imprinted it in his mind. He could always remember, even add to it if he could figure out how. But for now, lets finish the game. "Gir will tell you a secret about magic school."

Dra'nahfiel heard a giggle, and couldn't help but grin. It was actually a nice change to play a game that wouldn't result in an accidental death or maiming. Most times...he avoided such games and confrontations from other students at the Magic School so that he would do his best on whatever task his Master asked of him. Of course...doing this had kept him rather lonely. And Dra normally was not the hermit type. He actually strove on interaction and mingling with society...though only a few of society at a time.

His first choice would most usually be Imordana if he wanted company..his next choice would be a fellow student that was as studious and as focused as he was. They normally didn't get much time to interact, what with the busy and strange hours they both had. Then there was the spa that Dra frequented when he merely wanted to feel connected through touch and nothing else. That was probably the one place that he spent the most time at. His Master had been adamant that Dra keep his body and mind clear and as unstressed as possible..saying it would make studying much easier. His Master had been right. Every time he came back from the spa he was so rejuvenated and wide awake that he was able to attack multiple tasks at once.

He was pulled out of these thoughts by Gir's words. A secret about the Magic School? Now that was something that did intrigue him highly. Dra'nahfiel reached over the back of the chair and grasped Gir's arm lightly saying, "I've found you. Now what's that secret you have to tell?"

Gir laughed ever so childishly when Dra grabbed him. You'd think the drow had been tickled but for someone his age it was quite unusual. As Dra got closer to Gir, his "magic sight" saw something quite unusual. Gir's magic wasn't like most illusionists magic, which normally was under complete control from the caster. Gir's magic seemed......wild....like a living entity in and of itself. It formed an aura around him, not like a spell of protection or other such thing as Dra might have seen before, but as if he had magic imbedded deep within his very skin. It flowed as he moved, like magic clothes or something. It was so unusual and rarely seen.

Due to Gir's mental defect his magic was truly a part of him, physically and mentally. He left imprints of it when he touched things, which Dra could see when Gir moved away from leaning against the chair. For mages, magic only leaves a residue when a spell is performed, not from someone just leaning against something. Gir walked back around the chair and sat down, crossing his legs and threading his fingers together. He looked very much like a child who had a secret.

"Gir's secret is very secret. Dra cannot tell Gir's secret!!!" He suddenly had the smallest hint of malice cross his fushia eyes, it was very fleeting but it was definately there. "Gir's secret....about magic school....is he was here. He was thrown out. Gir did.....bad things."

Years ago, a young orphaned drow was brought into Dra's school of magic. He was the only survivor of a house attack and had shown magical tendancies. The school, not wanting to lose a good mage or illusionist, took him in. The idea originally was to have a loyal following of houseless drow, ones that would only be loyal to the school. But....something had gone wrong when Gir had been brought it.

"Gir...does not remember a lot. Only that the masters were angry. Very angry at Gir. So they made Gir leave. Gir left, then Gir came back. Now he is with his Lady Imordana!" He smiled proudly, having shared his secret.

Dra'nahfiel smiled slightly when Gir laughed childishly when he grabbed him. The smile slipped off of his face when he realized that Gir's illusion magic wasn't anywhere the same as other illusionists that he had encountered in the years that he had been enrolled at the magic school. His was..almost living and wild. Dra shuddered slightly, releasing Gir's arm, as he watched the every changing aura like magic. Dra was suddenly struck by the rarity of Gir's magic, it was strangely akin to the abilities of a surface creature that was known as a Chameleon.

He was going to have to share this discovery with his master the next time he saw the older drow sorcerer. He would truly be intrigued by it and would want to find a way to help Gir better control his powers. Which Dra figured would be a good change for the young drow; not to mention everyone that was involved with him. Especially his dear Imordana. He doubted that Gir would ever think of harming the female, especially with the longing look that he had seen Gir give her when she had left earlier. Truly...Gir was most likely very enticed with her. That was one thing the two males had in common with each other.

Dra took a seat on a footstool, rubbing his neck as Gir related the "secret" to him. "Why of course not, I wouldn't dream of telling anyone else of your secret. It shall be something that only the two of us know." Dra replied, slightly taken back by the malice that had light up in the younger drow's fuscha eyes.

Dra'nahfiel's blood went cold at what Gir next shared. Oh gods. He closed his eyes and tried not to let off any sort of startled manner to Gir. Dra remembered exactly what Gir was sharing about. He had only heard of what had occurred in the wing for gifted orphaned drow. Back then he had been grateful that he had been pulled from the wing and placed in private quarters by his mysterious benefactor. The entire student body living in that area of the wing had died horribly, with no known cause as to what had brought it about. However...He did remember that one lone drow had survived it only to be expelled by the masters. It was possibly that Gir had been the one responsible for the horrific deaths of the others at the school.

"Ah..that is indeed a good secret." Dra replied stiffly, standing up from his seat on the footstool and began to pace around, trying to ease his nerves.

"Do you like living with Lady Imordana? What sort of things do you do for her?" He found himself asking next, wondering if Imordana had any idea what the young drow was capable of.

Wait. She had told him to be careful and to not use magic around him. Perhaps she didn't know what he had done, but she had an idea of what he could do. While he wouldn't tell her the secret that Gir had shared with him, since he had given his word, he decided he would at least tell her what he suspected.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 04, 2009 3:26 pm

Gir just watched as Dra paced back and forth, his fushia eyes following the dark form of the mage. That creepy smile never left his face. He could tell the other male was nervous about what he had just told him. Gir had few memories of it otherwise he'd go into more detail. But then again, it might have been for the best. Gir had really done a number on those other kids.

The Dra asked him a question about his Lady, which he was more than willing to answer. A happy look appeared on his face as he clasp his hands together. "Gir loves living with his Lady! She takes such good care of him! He met her at the marketplace! A guard was very rude to Gir so Gir taught him a lesson! Then his Lady appeared and asked him to come home with her. She even brought him candy! Gir places with Brother Gir and his Lady's other brother!"

He giggled a bit at the memory, then looked to Dra with the innocence of a child. "Do you have candy for Gir? He is hungry."

Dra'nahfiel stopped his pacing, and settled once more on the chair opposite from Gir, trying to ease his discomfort from what Gir had shared with him. He was having a rather hard time of it. He knew now that his Master wouldn't be interested in any way to help the young drow gain control of his powers..not after what Gir had done to those in the Magic School years before. He glanced over at the great clock to see what time it was..and about freaked out.

His Master was going to be showing up in less than an hour's time! If he found Gir in Dra's room..there was no telling what he might do to the both of them. Dra stood up again and began pacing..trying to think of what would be logical for dealing with Gir while his master was in his apartment. He paused in his thinking when Gir mentioned candy.

"You like candy do you? If I were to give you some money..and directions to a candy store would you go there and come back within half an hour? You must not wander or bother anyone..or you might get carted off. Though..with your "talents" the guards that would get summoned would probably end up in some mental hospital." Dra murmured..putting that idea out of his mind.

"Never mind," he said with an absent wave of his hand as he began to pull at his hair and chew his bottom lip as he paced again and tried to come up with a plausible plan.

Finally he sighed, and turned to Gir again, saying. "Why don't we go get some candy and when we get back you can play hide and seek again? Only this time you'll be hiding from my master. He mustn't know that you're here."
