Imordana glided down the side streets into the bustling marketplace of Llurth Dreir. Every now and then she caught sight of a male casting her an appreciative look and she'd flutter her eyelashes in his direction and make her sashaying walk that much more pronounced. It was something she usually did to pass the time, and it wasn't as if any of them would ever approach her when she was dressed in her temple colors. The life of a cleric in training was good, she could look and flirt all she liked and not be expected to do more than that.
She had needed a change of scenery, not to mention a definite change of company. Her older sisters had been harping over everything that she had been doing lately and it was getting on her nerves. It was as if they were purposely trying to make her look bad in front of the Matron. Even though some of the things that they had blamed on her weren't even her own fault but theirs. It was becoming quite maddening.
She sighed thinking about them and tossing her loose hair over her shoulder. At some point she knew that she would have to deal with them before they began to jepordize her standing with her House. If only they weren't so damn convincing with their incessant sniveling and petty plots. If only she could come up with a fool proof plan to rid herself of them.
This was one of the reasons why she was going to the marketplace today. Usually a lot of drow were not as tight lipped as they should be and would boast openly about how they had done away with a rival. The things one might overhear could become quite useful to an inexperienced young drow. Especially one that wanted to get rid of her two overbearing older sisters.
Hopefully by the time her two hours for free time were up, she'd have heard something useful. If not, well she could always come back the next day or find someone willing to barter the services for a future favor from a cleric. That might be awhile however, seeing as she was still only an initiate at the temple. She would have at least twenty years of training before she would be able to pay up on the favor. Maybe fifteen if she were lucky.
Imordana paused, blinked in surprise and then grinned when she saw a performing crew setting up for an exhibition in the middle of the marketplace. Forget the conversations and boasts of other drow, sh was finally going to get to see a proper entertainer troop perform! She had only heard of them and the skills that they had and had always wanted to see one perform. Talk about good timing on her part. If she didn't get too caught up in the performance she might also hear some of the crowd discussing plots that she could use. Though..she highly doubted that she would pay enough mind to those around her.
Imordana pushed her way through the gathering crowd of drow and found a good spot near the front where she'd be able to see everything. A few drow seemed a bit disgruntled by this but moved out of her way when they saw she was dressed in temple colors. Thankfully most drow respected it and would rather not start any sort of incident with a cleric. It was to her advantage, for if they knew she was still in training they might have actually acted against her.

Dra'nahfiel was perusing one of the many spell books in his master's study in an attempt to help solve a problem one of the Sorcerer's clients was having with a spell gone bad. He had been looking over the books for several days now and neither of them had found anything that seemed to pertain to the problem. With a sigh, he closed the book with a thump and leaned back in his chair, rubbing his forehead trying to get the achy feeling to go away. The thin haggard looking sorcerer looked up from the fifty pound book he was going through and frowned slightly at his apprentice.
Dra'nahfiel sighed again, and went to open his book up again trying to get his enthusiasm back to find the answer to the problem. Before he could however, the sorcerer's words came out in a soft tenor gently washing away the tiredness in his body.
"That's enough for now, Apprentice Dra. You may go out for awhile to clear your head. Too much perusing can cause one to go over what they're looking for after this many hours. I think I shall go for a smoke and good cup of tea as well. Feel free to take your time. There really isn't too much of a hurry. The client will leave, albeit a little less actively than he used to. It's his own fault for not trying the spell out on someone else before he used it on himself."
"Thank you Master Sorcerer. Is there any supplies that you have need of? I might as well get them while I'm out." Dra'nahfiel offered as he stood up and stretched out his constricted muscles.
"Good thinking, Apprentice. I believe..." The sorcerer paused and shuffled through some papers on his desk before he finally came up with an "aha, here it is! Here's the list. I probably won't be back for at least three hours..and then I'll be taking a long relaxing bath, so please take your time in returning."
"As you wish Master Sorcerer." Dra replied, taking the paper from his Master's hand and departed the Sorcerer's quarters in the Magic School.
He ignored the remarks of the other students as they called insults after him as he walked down the hallways of the school. He had pretty much gotten used to it the first couple of days when he had started going to the school and had learned to tune it out like second nature. The other students only tried to get to him because he had used to be a street performer and thief when he had been younger.
He had however, had the good fortune several decades earlier to have caught the eye and attention of some high society fellow. Dra still wondered just who his mysterious benefactor was. He had yet to meet the man who had insisted he be tested for magical abilities and paid for him to attend the school. As well as gotten him one of the best Masters to be apprenticed to. Everything was looking up for him and his future because of this kind benefactor who had taken an interest in him. Dra intended to fully return the favor once he was a full fledged Mage and gladly and willingly serve his benefactor.
Dra'nahfiel had made it to the marketplace by the time all these thoughts had gone through his head, and much to his surprise he spotted the troop that he had used to perform with setting up for a skit in the middle of Llurth Dreir's marketplace. Dra felt excitement flare as he joined the crowd that was gathering around the small troop. He couldn't help but wonder if they were still using the same skits they had done when he had been a part of it. Nostalgia hit him full on, and he couldn't help but let a slight grin of happiness curve up on his face.
His smile quickly disappeared when he was rudely jostled from behind as a young female dressed in priestess robes took a spot closer to the front of the crowd. Dra'nahfiel almost let it go and ignored her rudeness, but when he noted the lack of ornaments on her and that there were no tell tale tattoos or markings on her arms or ankles he too pushed forward to join her in the front. He turned to stare at her from the side, and was struck by how beautiful she really was. Her lips were blood red, her eyes were as well. Her face was beautiful perfection, as though it had been carved out of pure obsidian by a truly gifted artist. Even though the skit had begun, all Dra had eyes for was the young female to his left.

Imordana was rather enthralled by the unfolding skit in front of her and couldn't keep her eyes off the scenario the drow expertly acted out in front of her. It was a rather off color piece of work, drawing laughs and well meaning comments from the crowd as they got into the acting and the spirited antics of the troupe that acted to perfection. Every nuance, the costumes, music, movements and background made the skit even more intriguing and utterly captivated the audience which had now grown by three fold. Imordana could feel the crowd at her back milling around and trying to get better positions to see what was going on.
Presently..however she had the uncanny feeling that someone was watching her. She frowned, trying to ignore it and focused her attention on the unfolding drama in front of her eyes. This did no good..it was a curse really...she was rather conscious of those who would stare at her boldly and tried to keep it at a minimum when she could. Finally..when she could take it no longer..she flicked her eyes around the crowd to see who might be so bold as to outright stare at her.
It didn't take her long to find the fellow. He was only a few feet away from her to her right side. She eyed his blue robes and the staff he was carrying in his left hand, so he was an apprenticed mage. His purple eyes continued to bore into her face, still not noticing that she was now staring openly at him. Her mouth turned downward in a slight frown as she regarded him with a raised eyebrow.
"Is there something on my face? Or do you intend to bore a hole into my face with the force of your gaze?" She asked, in a dry tone, folding her arms over her small chest as she glared up at him.
Drat him. He was tall...something she disliked being as short as she was. She flipped her long hair over her shoulder and continued to eye him, waiting to hear some sort of response from him. He wasn't a statue was he? She snorted at the idea.

Dra was rather startled when the little slip of a female turned to him and abruptly broke his trance like state. Damned..female, they never knew when to shut up! Dra narrowed his eyes at her, feeling rather put off by her brusque manner. Of course she felt perfectly at ease with flirting with the opposite sex, but when she drew their attention she disliked the attention she drew? What a load of crock.
Sure so she was beautiful on the outside..but inside she was full of viper poison. He sighed and pulled his eyes off of her and tried to focus his attention on the entertaining troop's antics in front of him. It just wasn't the same...and the hostility seething off of the female was starting to put him in a rather dour mood.
"If you would cease your hostilities perhaps the both of us could get back to enjoying the show." He retorted dryly, as he shifted his staff to his other arm and leaned on it slightly glancing over at her once more with a slight sneer curling up the corner of his mouth.

Imordana snorted derisively at the male's attempt to blame everything on her. Her pretty face soured into sharp lines as her rage from earlier that day began to build up inside of her. This was the last straw. No one..especially not a male was going to put her down and blame her for something that was entirely not her fault.
"Oh..you haven't seen hostilities yet, mage." Her voice, now having lost all flirtatious affects lowered to a very menacing timber. "Try this out for size."
With that being said, she pulled one of her enchanted rings from her pouch and tossed it at his feet muttering something guttural under her breath. Before the male could figure out what was going on, a fetid smell erupted from the ring and encased him within seconds, causing the crowd around him to back away with disgusted sounds. The Entertaining troop saw what was occurring and departed not wanting to get tangled up in a lover's squabble.
Imordana reached once more for her pouch and pulled out several more rings and shook them with a calculating look, trying to figure out what one to use on him next.

To say Dra was surprised at the audacity of the female, not to mention her unwitting mistake was putting it mildly. He didn't even notice the fetid smell..since having worked in a lab of potions for the past twenty years had degraded his sense of smell quite a bit. Had he been able to smell it..it probably wouldn't have phased him in the slightest, in fact he probably would have liked the smell. A magician's potions while they are brewing stink up to ten times worse than they turn out to be in the end.
Dra laughed, and with a simple flick of his wrist and a word of incantation swept the gaseous odor over in Imordana's direction, and shook his head.
"Don't you know anything about attacking an enemy?" He asked in surprise, "one doesn't announce when they are going to attack for any reason, that should have been the first thing the clerics taught you. And secondly, attacking a mage in training with gaseous agents isn't a good opening. My nose is shot from all the brewing potions I work with...so I can't smell a damn thing."
He shook his head at her, rolled his eyes again, not in the slightest offended by her failed attack. He turned to go but stopped and eyed her thoughtfully and added. "Perhaps you should be in class learning these things instead of playing hooky."
Despite the fact that he appeared at ease and not alarmed by her, he was already weaving a spell with his free hand hidden inside the roomy robe sleeve in case she were to try and attack him with anything stronger. A mage never drops his guard, no matter how incapable the individual may appear to be. That was something Dra wasn't about to forget anytime soon.

An indescribable sound erupted from Imordana's lips..it was halfway through a snarl and a scream and the raw rage that backed it propelled her forward before she could think about what she was doing. The fumes from her spelled ring were dying down and didn't have much of an affect in slowing her down..as she flew at the mage.
Her smaller body compacted against his with such force that it brought the mage down on his right side with a loud thump. The drow that had departed seconds before were now edging closer to get a good view of the fight that ensued.
"How dare you speak in such a manner to me!?" She screamed as she began to pummel him as hard as she could...the rings in her hands flying all over the ground as her rage got the better of her. "Who the hell do you think you are male? I shall skin you alive and hang your sorry hide to the temple gate!"

Dra'nahfiel was rather stunned when the lithe female ran at him and bodily slammed into him. He had been prepared for another magical attack so was rather taken aback by how the fight had quickly become physical so fast. The funny thing though was that her slaps and hitting didn't hurt in the least bit. It almost tickled actually, but Dra knew laughing would only infuriate her even more. Instead..he grabbed her wrists with one hands and held them firmly as he struggled to his feet and started to pull her after him.
"What are you going to try and slap me to death? You really need to learn how to fight better." Dra told her and before she could scream or protest wove a transportation spell and whisked them out of the area.
The sudden departure left the watching crowd rather awed at the strong show of magic. In a short time however..the crowd had dispersed and gone back to their original tasks. Which was exactly what Dra had wanted.

Imordana gasped in shock when the magician grabbed her hands and held her still and berated her for her poor fighting abilities. "If you weren't such an infuriating male I wouldn't have to smack you around!" She screamed back at him and struggling to pull herself out of his grasp.
She was even more alarmed when the male wove some sort of spell and the next moment the marketplace disappeared from sight. She stiffened and glanced around rather stunned to find herself now inside a rather small well kept room. Why in the world had the male brought her here? Surely he wasn't intending to force himself on her.
"If you even dare to try and force yourself on me I'll scream," She warned, her eyes narrowing into small slits.

Dra's face went strangely blank as he regarded the smaller female remembering her last words. "Hold on, let me get this straight, I'm the infuriating one? I have been rather kind to you in most regards. You attacked me first, beat me and now you're saying it's all my fault? You truly are a mad female." Dra said shaking his head and running his hands through his long hair, then bent and picked up his magical staff.
He was rather surprised to find her so alarmed at his use of magic, not to mention how frighten she appeared when she realized she was somewhere else entirely. He stepped back a little to give her more room so she wouldn't think he was going to harm her in any fashion. Of course..she must have not noticed for her next words had his eyebrows raising at them.
"Force myself on you? Please..I wouldn't even bother. I wouldn't have even brought you here if you hadn't been making such a scene. Haven't you heard of keeping such matters out of the public eye? If you would like to leave, I wouldn't dream of keeping you here. The door's right there." Dra replied with a scowl marring his features.
Then he turned and stalked over to his desk and sprawled out in his tall backed chair and grabbed up one of his magic books and started flipping through it, trying to appear as though her words hadn't hurt his feelings. Of course they did hurt him..as he had never accosted any female in his lifetime. Up until a few weeks ago he had led a rather celibate lifestyle. Still..the thought of grabbing the little female around the waist and throwing her on his bed and having his way with her was rather bothersome. He rather wished she hadn't mentioned it, otherwise the scene wouldn't be running through his mind at that very moment.
"You'd best be going," he choked out dryly, waving at her in irritation. "Or I may change my mind about letting you leave."

Imordana's attitude abruptly shifted from frightened and alarmed to one of confusion. Why was he being so nice to her? He could have very well killed her off the moment she had instigated the fight but he had held back and merely countered her attacks. It was odd, seeing as most drow would take every opportunity against a fellow drow especially when they were as weak as he implied she was.
"You should know by now that all Males are infuriating to us females." Imordana scoffed back, eyeing Dra. He really wasn't that bad looking...for a male. Imordana couldn't help but imagine the long lanky body he hid underneath his magical robes. She couldn't help it if certain images flashed through her mind in regards to the male, he was quite the eye catcher as it was. His waist length hair, purple eyes and the tattoos on his left arm..gods what wasn't there about him to admire?
"I may be mad, but at least I'm not stupid." She retorted, when he stepped back to give her room to brush by him. "You've totally botched a perfectly good kidnapping. I would fetch a high price from my house, but you blew it!" She said, stepping close to him and sticking her nose up into his face.
His next words had her even more confused. She frowned and eyed him closely before she sashayed around him and out the door without a second look back, even though she was dying to see the expression on his face. "Fine, it's your loss mage."

Dra'nahfiel cocked his head at her as the feisty female eyed him. It was rather strange how her words and her actions didn't really match. Could it be possible that she was attracted to him? Dra scoffed at that idea. It's not like it would do any good, he had made a vow to himself to not get involved with any females for the next six years. He had too much work that he needed to focus on and a female would only complicate his life.
"Glad to be of service then." Dra muttered, "I wouldn't want to botch the job and give males a bad name."
He was rather surprised by her next words. Did she think that he was some starving student that had need of money that he would stoop so low to kidnap her? Sheesh. What a strange mind she possessed.
"For your information, " He drawled causing her to stop in her steps towards the door. "I"m not a starving student, I happen to have a very kind benefactor that sees to my every need. I wouldn't need to stoop so low to kidnap you for funds. I do have my pride."

Imordana didn't know what to think of the mage, especially at his sudden change of attitude. She smirked when he chose to bite at her well laid bait. "Oh, really? Then why are you stuck in this..little hole in the wall if you have such a KIND benefactor." She sneered back at him. "And you definitely have no pride, especially in this place if you can't at least clean it up before bringing a female of my sensibilities back here."
Her red eyes purposely shot around the room, taking in the well messed, lived in look that it was sporting. She licked her lips rather nervously, when she realized that the mess was comprised of books of magic, and potions. He apparently was a student of advanced knowledge, definitely further ahead in his studies than she had thought. Damn...she probably shouldn't have added that last verbal barb.

Dra'nahfiel slowly rose from his seat, his eyes flashing at her words. The young priestess froze her eyes widening as he slowly made his way over to her in silence his face set in stone. When he was only a few feet away, he reached out and grabbed her firmly by her arms, his eyes boring into her own. "Enough of your barbs. True, this isn't high living, but its damned better than living in the streets, fighting everyday for food and life. I might not live as well as you, but you have no right to degrade me or put me down. I have come too far and worked too hard to allow anyone to put me down as often as you have. Understood?"
Once he had finished, he let go of her arms and stepped back brushing the soft tendrils of hair that had fallen into his face. He eyed her closely, still not so sure he should allow her to leave without teaching her a proper lesson. He felt his body stir in interest as his purple eyes roamed over her body. Gods..she was beautiful.

Imordana had been rather frightened when the mage had gotten up and silently grabbed her. Her heart had raced so fast and she had gone cold at the thought of what he might do to her. Of course, once he had begun to speak, she had been rather surprised at his abrupt and commanding air. It had been a long time since anyone had ever talked to her in such a manner.
"Fine, I'll try and restrain myself." She said, waving a hand at him not knowing what else to say to what he had spoken.
She was rather surprised to learn that he had grown up in the streets, it rather intrigued her and made her wonder how he had managed to gain a benefactor to pay for his schooling. He must be quite talented in magic, for someone to have picked him up off the streets and taken the time to teach him how to act the way he did.
Despite her initial thoughts on him, she realized that she actually did like him. He was different than other males she had encountered. He was powerful, yet reserved and apparently very intuitive.
She watched him brush the hair out of his face, and couldn't help but wish that she could experience his touch. gods...her libido was out of control, and she really needed to work on controlling it better. She however, lost it when his gaze once more fluttered over her body and she noticed the change in his body language.
"I might be able to restrain myself from speaking badly of you," she murmured edging closer to him slowly and then went on. "but my body has no wish to be restrained."
Then before she could rationalize what she was doing or stop herself, she flung herself on the mage, pulled his head down and planted a firm passionate kiss on his lips.
