Quit being a fanatic of Pikachu. He's only awesome cause Ash has him and he's one of few Pokemon that don't go into pokeballs for their trainer.
If he had any other brightly colored bipedal creature that had a cute look, you'd have fallen for it instead.
Sorry for stating the obvious, but it has to be said.

I, myself, love Pikachu. Though it has it moments where it made me want to slap it, I do love it so. I always carry a pikachu/raichu in my party.

I'm not too fond of Ash's Pikachu. Ash has had it for over a million (so to speak) years, and yet he can't reason to devise strategies with him. You'd expect him to know more then Thunderbolt and Iron Tail. In terms of character, it's cute.

But I still love Pikachu nonetheless.

Yeah, he's adorable. Ash overused him though. Like honestly, sending him against huge Pokemon. neutral

I can't stand Pokemon without any defense. Especially when they are overused in the anime and take out Pokemon three times larger than they are! >< So Pikachu's just make me want to slap 'em.

Pikachu is awesome, not as awesome as Arcanine (in my own opinion) but great. XD Though I was always curious that if Ash's Pikachu is at such a high-level, why does it get beat so much in gyms!? D; Ash's pikachu confuses me because of that...But I digress XD; Either way Pikachus are cute X3 And cool when they evolve~

I guess Pikachu is ok... I wouldn't use Pikachu in any of my battles. Yes, that even means with trainers who use only water types. I think Empoleon is better though. ^.^

I have to say that while I respect everyone else's opinions, I have to disagree with Pikachu being the best. In the show, he is, but that's because that Pikachu was hacked... lol

I prefer my Dakurai (Darkrai) or my Guillotine (Giratina).
I think Pikachus are cute and all but there's no way a Pikachu can take out a Rhyhorn. And I don't like female Pikachus in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. The tails are kinda freakish.
