User ImageTreskri no'Amuth rolled her eyes as she stretched out for the tenth time that morning. She had been waiting for over half an hour now and she figured that the male who had been supposed to have met her had chosen not to show. Now that was totally unacceptable. Treskri was usually an easy going female drow, but one someone wasted her time she got very pissed off about it. If he didn't show within the next few minutes, Treskri was going to leave.

Then he'd have to figure out a way to travel across the surface world to the area where the mushrooms were that he had wanted to collect. It wasn't her problem, and if he had been so intent on it he wouldn't have not shown up on time. She pressed her lips together firmly as her golden eyes perused the crowded marketplace, hoping to single the male out from the crowd.

She had met Quenar the night before in one of the bars that she frequented in the raiding off season. He had been the one to broach the subject of the possibility of guiding him to the forest that he was in need of reaching on the surface world. Treskri had jumped at the opportunity. She hadn't been able to go on a solo mission in ages, and if she were doing a job she could as well scout out some of the villages they'd be passing to see if there were any that had passable sacrifical humans for the temple.

"If that little rat doesn't show up, he's going to regret it." She mumbled to herself moments before she finally spotted him in the crowd. She wiped the angry look off of her face, and smiled brightly showing off her white teeth.

User Image Quenar Elgheinn walked quickly through the market place. He was late, yeah he knew he was. But it had been four o'clock and he couldn't allow himself to be there at that time! Who knows what could have happened!! Not to mention it took him forever to get the list of poisonous plants he wanted from his contact. Not many people kept list of surface plants that were highly poisonous and it cost him a pretty penny to get it. But at least he had an escort to the surface. Though he could defend himself one on one he was hardly a warrior.

He sighed as he walked, looking for the golden female he had met in the bar the other night. Unconciously he always jumped the fourth step of any stairs he encountered, drifted away from any door with the number 4 on it, and even tried to keep out of wandering groups of people if there were more than three people. How many years had it been since that prophecy? How many times had he tried to get a more precise reading? He couldn't remember now. All he knew was his horrible fear of being the fourth of anything. His mother, in a cruel joke, had even named him Fourth Death. He wasn't the fourth son or anything, hardly. More like the 8th but still only two of his siblings had died so far. If one more of them died he knew he would be next!! He knew it!!

He shook his head a bit, clearing his thoughts for the moment. He didn't need to think about that now. He had a job to do. . . and a job to do after that. Extracting poisons was long work and he wanted a fresh supply for his next "job". As an assassin you hardly kept a work schedule but people always seemed to be able to find you. At last he saw the golden female and took on a submissive air. "I apologize for my tardiness. I was...delayed. I hope our agreement still stands?"

Treskri let her red eyes peruse the male, sweeping over his smaller frame making note of several features that were definite pleasing points of a male to her. She couldn't help but smile even more broadly when he shook his head, the motion was a sign to Treskri that he was trying to clear a muddled head. Perhaps this trip would be more fun than she had first thought.

Her face took on a much sterner look, as her thoughts turned elsewhere.
"Despite you arriving over half an hour late I will keep to my agreement. Perhaps you would be wiser to change the time of a meeting than to show up late. It would be much easier in the long run." With that, she crossed her arms and scowled down on him.

Then without any warning she turned abruptly around and headed towards one of the tents. "Now then," she spoke out loudly as she walked. "We'd probably be smart to gather up what supplies we will need for the trip to the surface world."

Unlike other drow, Treskri didn't really care whether or not she kept her business secret or not. She usually didn't have to worry about much, and even if someone were to try and sabotage one of her trips she could easily elude them or get rid of them before any trouble befell her or one of her customers.

She was always loud, whether she was in a private room or out in public. It was just who she was. Nothing that any of her employers had tried to rid her of this attribute had ever worked. Most times, they would give up and release her from working for them. Because of this Treskri was always going from company to company. And though her reputation for loudness and obnoxiousness preceded her, it was enough for any company that she had in fact survived stranded on the surface world for several months on her own. That was one thing that actually gave her more sway and opportunities than most other raiders.

Quen cowed a bit under the female's harsh words. His red eyes were cast down out of respect, his white bangs falling infront of his face. Of course she was right, he should have changed the time but he hadn't gotten to it. "I do apologize again. I know your time must be short." Not that the assassin knew what surface raiders did. He had never been to the surface before but had heard of the many plants that held poisonous qualities. He wanted to expand his collection and do some experiments to determine the symptoms caused by each plant.

He winced as the loud female suddenly walked off toward the tents. He followed quickly, keeping an eye out for anything that looked like there were four of. He barely made a sound as he walked, having been trained since infancy to walk silently. All assassins needed to be stealthy, Quen even more so. He had to figure out how to poison people. There were lots of ways; anything from poisoning their drink to a blow dart. Quen had used them all, each useful in different situations.

He tried to follow quickly, to keep up with the loud female. He kept his head down and tried not to look at anyone who was staring at them. He wasn't use to such loud females, most of his house were quite women. He was from a house of assassins, all specialized in a different form. But strangely, out of all of them, he was the only one who used poison. All others either used stealth alone or group ambush for their cut-throat ways.

"Well I have the supplies I need. Jars for collection, an extraction knife, and other sundries. I also have a small notebook that shows the plants I need." He waited to see if the female needed anything before they headed off. He didn't talk much, he never had.

Treskri could tell this fellow, Quenar was a bit taken back by her actions. Most drow usually were. She stopped several feet away from a tent and turned to look at him rather incredulously when he said he had all the supplies he needed. Then she eased the look of surprise off of her face. After all, he had never been to the surface and had no idea what it would entail.

"First, when I mentioned supplies I wasn't talking about about the items you need for your...job expertise. But that's alright. You probably didn't understand. We will need non perishable food, " she paused to look him over a moment before going on. "clothing that's more fit to blending in with the surroundings on the surface, plus tools of the trade. I assume you can use a weapon when need be, correct? While I hope we don't run into any trouble, its more than likely that we will. The world above is just as unpredictable as the underdark is. There are also dangers that you have never encountered before...so if you can't fight, we may want to hire another to go with us."

Treskri stood stoically still, as she addressed the male; hoping that procuring yet another would not be a necessity. That would mean that she would have to split the fee that Quenar had agreed to pay her. Treskri didn't like to share, especially when the sum was barely enough for one person.

She supposed she could have asked for a higher payment, but didn't want to scare off a potential job. She had been without work for the past couple of sennights and she was already getting restless with being kept underground. You see for Treskri, a mission on the surface world wasn't just a job, it was an opportunity to once more explore and mask in the strange yet adventurous world above.

Quen felt rather stupid when she explained her meaning being supplies. He should have thought of all this but for one who never visited the surface it wasn't like he'd know what to bring. Non-perishable food was easy enough to procure. He had gotten it many times during his own missions that always ran longer than all other assassins. His missions required perfect timing as well as custom requests from his cliets. Some wanted the victum to die in public, to add humiliation to their family as well as death. Others wanted a more sutble death, away from the eyes of others which would spread suspision.

When she mentioned clothes he was already one step ahead of her. "My clothes are double sided, I can change them to different colors as necessary." Since his current attire was not appropriate he slipped out of his shirt and switched it to the inside colors. The male's body was quite well developed, not musuclar but sleak and strong. He held quite a few scars, as assassin training meant finding all the vital spots on the body. A few training sessions had not gone very well but he had overcome them.

This new outfit was far more green and and brown instead of the normal grey. "How is this?" He would change his pants once the lady had left the tent, or not since he wondered if she'd even care. But he'd at least wait until she gave a signal of what she prefered. The she asked about his ability to fight. He blinked at her in surprise himself.

"Well of course. We are always trained to fight in case a mission goes down the drain." He removed a dagger from his vest to prove it. This was one of many weapons he had stored on his person.

(((UH oh. Treskri's been distracted!)))
Treskri was rather surprised and rather astonished when the male broke in to say that his clothes were doubled sided. She was almost even more surprised when he slipped out of his shirt to switch it around to a dull green color. The muscular buffed chest that he exposed almost made her mouth go dry. Thankfully she hadn't let the sudden lust show on her face.

She cursed herself. She had kept herself away from any male encounters for too long of a period. And now..she was going to start off a mission with a male that she would be spending night and day with for the next couple of weeks with one that she felt sexual tendencies towards. She should step out of the deal gracefully before anything happened, but she couldn't do it.

Thankfully Quenar hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary. Though..in a few days he probably would. He was one of the more observative ones, what with his being an assassin and needing to always see or figure things out ahead of time. Treskri closed her eyes and cursed inwardly again.

"Good to know. Then I assume you have enough weapons for yourself. I have a few items to procure, if you would like you can join me. Or if you'd rather you can meet me later on."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 16, 2009 1:39 pm

((hehe, Quen is an innocnet boy. This will be fun))

Quenar hadn't noticed anything because he hadn't been looking to, plus he had not recieved much attention from females in that realm. He wasn't a virgin but his encounters had been part of a mission. The female had merely shown signs of wanting to get on the road and up above the underground sanctuary that had been his home since his birth. He couldn't imagine the desire to venture up top, to risk the blazing sun he had heard so much about and deal with all the strange creatures that ran rampent in the wilderness.

He knew some things, mostly from traders who had stopped by his house that would tell stories to the young children; but otherwise he was rather ignorant of the outside world. For an assassin, there was never a need to go up there as all their work resided in the houses of their client's enemies. "Yes, I have enough to care for myself. And I shall accompany you to avoid any more late starts on my behalf." He gathered what little he had sat down and went to stand ready for her. He'd have to change his pants later.

"Suit yourself." Treskri replied with a wave of her hand, a smile playing on the corners of her mouth.
Figuring he would follow, Treskri ambled through the crowds and over to a particular vendor that she usually visited before her excursions on the surface. It felt rather odd, to know another drow was following her; usually she did this part on her own. She figured as long as Quenar kept his questions to himself and didn't interrupt her bargaining he wouldn't be of too much bother to her.

When the merchant finally was free to help Treskri with her selection, a broad smile brightened up the fellow's face when he caught sight of her.
"Ahh...how's my favorite customer doing today?"
Treskri smiled pleasantly back, perusing the selection laid out on his table fora few moments before she replied. It looked as though most of his usual wares had already sold, which didn't bode well for her.
"I'm well, and you Rastu'far?" She said with a slight frown.
"Very well, I've had a good day so far. What are you looking for today Mistress no'Amuth?" He asked, noticing her troubled look.

"Booby traps, as well as ropes that will last in the sunlight. As well as above world clothing that will last longer than that last set." Treskri replied with a slight scowl.

"Oh..the last set didn't do so well? Well..let me see what I can find in the back. I save my best for my most loyal customers.." The merchant said, as he disappeared into the back of his tent to scrounge up the items she has requested.

After a few moments of rustling, the merchant came back with the items, and laid them out for Treskri to look over. She examined each trap with a keen piercing glance then laid them down to look over the clothing. the manner of clothing was a short sleeved tunic of a reddish brown color, and slightly darker leggings, and a pair of boots that were slightly worn.

"These should work well. What about arrows? Do you have a good number of those? I'd rather not use my regular ones while up on the surface this time." She added.

The merchant immediately disappeared back into the tent, and came back with two quivers full of arrows. "Will these do mistress no'Amuth?"

"Perfectly. Thank you Rastu'far. Now I figure the price of 5 silver and 10 copper would be a good price." Treskri said, starting at a low price. Bargaining was one of her favorite things to do with vendors.

"Oh come now Mistress no'Amuth; at any other tent you'd be charged 12 silvers alone for all these items. I figure..if you pay 10 that would still be a steal for you." Rastu'far replied with a wide grin.

And so began the bargaining. The two of them went back and forth, the price changing slightly each time, until finally...Treskri walked away from the tent having paid 8 silver, and 20 coppers for her items. Which was...a steal for her in the end.

"So, there's one more tent I need to stop at, and then we'll set out. By the time we leave it will be dusk which will give us a great cover for going out into the surface world. Less chance of us being noticed, not to mention a lot better for our unaccustomed eyes. Does that sound all right with you?" Treskri asked Quenar as she lead him off into another direction towards another vendor's tent that she frequently used.

"I leave all this to you. I am ignornant to the surface which is why I sought you out. You have been many times and, depsite some reports I got about you, I feel you are more than quite competant to insure our safety and efficiancy." Yes Quenar had researched her before ever meeting her in bar. He wanted a surface raider that had the ability to get him where he needed to go and have the courage to help him in a world that he knew nothing about.

He continued to follow the female as she went on her rounds, starting to get nervous. The more nervous he could the worse his phobia began to affect him. He stared conciously counting his steps, sometimes having to hop a bit to avoid the fourth one. He avoided the fourth door of anything they passed or any door numbered 4.

Treskri was rather pleased by what the male was saying until he spoke of reports; insinuating that they were unfavorable ones about her. She frowned..and felt her mood diminish slightly. Even though Quenar finished by saying he felt she was competent enough..she was mad. She couldn't help but wonder who had given the bad reports about her. Perhaps she should find out so she could deal with them later on.

"Well, thanks for your vote of confidence." She snapped, feeling rather irritated by his words.

Then she sighed, and made her way over to the next tent that she needed to visit. This tent wasn't out where the rest were, it was actually hidden back in the more remote area of the marketplace where the vendors had all their wagons. Most buyers didn't even know about this vendor, and it was kept a secret by those that did know of it. Mainly because some of the items that were sold there were considered sacrilegious by the priestess' of the temple and for the most part contraband that could get a drow killed for possessing them.

Treskri realized at the last moment that Quenar was still following her and cursed. She paused a few feet away from the tent and pulled him aside and said to him.

"It would be better if you stay here, and not come any farther. You may not want to be privy to what I'm about to purchase and it would be better for you to forget you've even seen this tent. Understand?" Treskri demanded rather forcefully, getting right into the male's face.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 15, 2009 5:06 pm

Quenar blinked a bit as he realised the female was rather unhappy with the reports he had gotten. Then again she could hardly expect anyone to NOT get as many reports on a surface raider as they could. The surface was very dangerous to those not use to its dangers. Even the sun was a danger to the below ground living drow. He walked with her as she continued her shopping, not really realizing they were going back to a hidden spot until the female spoke sharply to him.

"Of course, I never saw a thing. I shall be over here at this knife stall." Quenar was a master at acting since he had to get into places alot so he casually walked over to the vender and inquired about a new set of throwing blades. Those were fun with poison.

Treskri was rather relieved when the male made no objection and sauntered over to a knife stall without another glance her way. This fellow seemed to be pretty easy to persuade..which Treskri was happy to discover. It would mean that the job would go rather easily..not to mention quick if he followed everything she told him.

She made her way over to the remote tent, glancing around cautiously every now and then until she had stopped in front of it. Finding the tent unattended caused her alarm for a moment until she noticed the bell on the front table amidst the assorted items laid out strategically. She picked it up and rang it once in a round motion..letting the clanger go around the whole inside of the bell before she stilled it and laid it back on the table.

Twin pairs of yellow eyes stared out of the dark interior of the tent, blinking slightly before the two individuals stepped out farther revealing expressionless faces. "Yes?" Spoke the first in a slightly accented tone.

Treskri instinctively eyed the two individuals noticing they stood rather stiffly side by side...as if they were joined at the hips. Instead of asking about it and demanding where the owner of the wares was, Treskri ignored it and replied shortly.

"I am in need of some..questionable religious artifacts for a surface excursion."

Two set of eyebrows rose simultaneously at this, then the two slightly turned to share a look with one another before responding.

"We may be able to help you, if you can elaborate in what exactly it is that you need." This came from the other individual..not revealing much, only that the tone was slightly lower and a bit more sultry sounding. Perhaps this one was female?

The adrogynous look of the two..was rather off putting to Treskri. She had never before met a pair of drow that looked so eerily alike..and so..genderless before.

"Perhaps I will, if I knew exactly who I am speaking with." Treskri replied firmly. "The last time I was here, Tru'vyrr was the individual that worked with me."

This caused a slight look of alarm to show on both of the individuals' faces and once again caused them to share glances again.

"Tru'vyrr has retired..we are now the proprietors of this business. I am Chath, and this is Niar."

"Fire and Water? So you're opposites? You look exactly the same." Treskri mused.

"Chath is male and I am female." Replied the other rather dryly. "We are not the same at all.

"Apologies for assuming wrong." Treskri said with a wave of her hand, and then told them what it was she was after.

They shared amused glances and then Chath disappeared into the back for a few moments. Treskri glanced around uncomfortably while she waited, rather uneasy about being seen purchasing the items. Relief went through her when Chath reappeared with a bundled package and slide it across the table to her. At least..they had the decency to keep the secrecy of their customers from being aired out in the open.

This time Treskri didn't take the time to haggle, she merely asked the price and then placed the coins into the hands of the female without argument..though she was a bit surprised at how high the price had gone. Once her business was concluded, she gathered her package, slide it into her pack and made her way to where she had left Quenar earlier.
She figured that by now he would have concluded his own business and that they would be able to finally set out through the tunnels to the surface world.

Treskri couldn't wait to be on the surface once more. She hoped that it was close enough to the rainy season that she would be able to experience rain again. It had been a long time since she had been able to and she really missed it. Rain..sweet...wet...refreshing...and completely different than anything the world of the Underdark offered.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 30, 2009 3:39 pm

Quenar had actually purchased the throwing knives as he had waited for the female raider. They were good quality and had the right weight for what he needed. So far his plans for the above her quite simple. He had a whole list of plants and descriptions to find and make poison out of. While he didn't have complete information on them he already had collection jars to take whole plants or samples of all parts back home for a more compelte analysis. He had decided while he was up he would make a few test batches of his new poisons and try them out on local wildlife. Hopefully none were too use or immune to the poison. But now the game was afoot as it were. He loved the search for his next poison. Using the same thing got boring and made people know who you were. Made life hard when people know who the killer was.

He followed the female on their journey, mostly keeping to himself. He had no desire to be out of the underground but he hide his fear well. It was all a part of the job. His house was depending on him to be a good poisoner when the job presented itself. But he was far from useful. He could actually cook decent food, mostly from his poison training. Though most were far too afraid to try it due to his reputation.

"So..are you ready to go now?" Treskri purred as she sauntered up to Quenar.

She curiously eyed the wares at the tent Quenar had stopped at; and decided to make a quick purchase as she waited for his response.
"I'll take that long dagger and a couple of those thingies." She told the vendor, pointing out crescent shaped throwing blades.

The burly male regarded her with a mild interest as he gathered the items she had selected and wrapped them in a small piece of burlap, and told her the price. Treskri wrinkled her nose slightly affronted at his asking price. Her facial features slid into a dark scowl as she tweaked her nose in annoyance.

"Just who do you think I am, a brain dead gutter rat? I'll give you 5 pieces of gold and no more."

The burly male glared back at her, his lips opening in a snarl of his own as he leaned slightly towards her.
"Ah don't think so, Ah'm not going ta let ya rip me off ya bedraggled piece of mange!"

Treskri sprung forward and grabbed the male's nose ring, causing him to grunt in pain and lean even closer to her to prevent her from ripping the ornament from his sensitive nose. Treskri's eyes gleamed in triumph as she practically spat back a few choice words in a different dialect; his eyes widened at the words and he began to slightly quake as she regarded him coldly. She released him and then repeated in a very low tone to him;
"Remember what I said male. Now...here's your five gold."

She slammed the pieces of gold down on the table so forcefully that the remaining daggers and other weapons clanged together from it. The burly male adverted his gaze to the ground and handed over her purchase. Treskri shot him a cold smirk as she departed, nudging Quenar slightly as she made for the first tunnel that would lead them towards the surface world.
