I just read about that on MSN. It makes me very happy; I have by no means read all his works, but I've thoroughly enjoyed every single one that I have read. 3nodding

I saw an interview where he said something like he was trying really hard not to swear in surprise when the committee called him because "they're librarians." rofl

Neil is, without question, deserving of his reward!! I've been trying to get my kids to read some of his novels. So far, my favorite of his has been Good Omens. rofl

So what is everybody's favorite work by Gaiman? (There are too many for me to put in a poll.)

I'm with Reyvinn; Good Omens was the best, though I also loved the fourth (?) volume in the Sandman series--whichever one it was where Lucifer emptied out Hell.

Wasn't Good Omens co-written with Terry Prachett? (Who is also good, BTW)

OliviaFalconer I saw an interview where he said something like he was trying really hard not to swear in surprise when the committee called him because "they're librarians." rofl I believe he also said that in his blog. It was amusingly written. I believe (unless my memory is being a pain), that his editor or agent even said something along the lines of, "You didn't curse, did you?" And he said he had tried his best not to.

I'm in the middle of The Graveyard Book right now. It's my first book by Gaiman. Really liking it so far though.

You know, I never read anything by Neil Gaiman until just recently, when Amanda Palmer (musician, not author) began referencing his works in her blog.
Still, I'm too much of a Gaiman newbie to pick a favorite yet. Though last night I watched his A Short Film about John Bolton. I thoroughly enjoyed it. smile
