This book hasn't been relevant in our culture for years. Why make the movie now?

Sir_David_of_Fairborn This book hasn't been relevant in our culture for years. Why make the movie now? It was never relevant beyond being a children's book. And like many books for children, it's timeless. There simply hasn't been technology in the past to make the film live-action within the capacity of the book's original vision. Puppetry could've been used, certainly, but it would've been a daunting task. CGI has made it easier.

Sir David -- I disagree. Where the Wild Things Are is literally one of the most timeless books of all time. It's a lot more deep than nearly any other picture book created in the last few decades. I'm studying it in my college level course right now, actually. ;D
I'm pretty pumped for this film. I am also terrified that it will be bad...but excited nonetheless!

i really really love that book so i'm just hoping the dont ruin it. it seems to me that hollywood is running out of ideas so they are just making a movie out of everything they possibly can

I loved that book, it was one of my favorites as a child 8D I am excited for the movie.
They won't butcher it ... it may not be like how you would picture it or how the book portrays it ... the movie/film will just be another version of it just like they do with all films based off of a book. Remember the keywords are BASED OFF. I never judge a movie for it's book. I think it will be excellent on its own.
