A baseball diamond is a square with side 90 ft. A batter hits the ball and runs toward first base with a speed of 26 ft/s. At what rate is his distance from second base decreasing when he is halfway to first base?

I think I understand how to do this problem, but I feel like I have too many variables! Assuming that from Home plate to first base is side a, then da/dt would be 26 ft/s. And... I'm pretty sure it has to be da/dt. And so assuming that the distance from Home plate to second base is side x, then we're supposed to find dx/da(?) when a=45. I'm just not sure that it's dx/da. D: SIGH...
