My grandpa took a turn for the worse today. Looks like he's got a few days maybe a couple of weeks left, at best.
Nothing spoils a nice day like coming home to your dad stopping you in the doorway saying, "Yeah grandpa's fading fast. He's wasting away each day and there's nothing left to do. He hasn't got long."
I wasn't even asked how my day was.

That's sad to hear, I'm sorry Hollow. Hopefully you can get to spend some time with him before he goes. My nana died on Boxing day some years ago, she went really suddenly and we didn't have time to go to England to say goodbye to her. sad Same thing happened with granddad, mum barely managed to get there in time to see him for the last time.

Found out today that they are stopping all treatment and sending him home to die. No one thinks he'll last till Monday. Happy. Freaking. New. Year.

hollow, i'm so sorry. i really wish i could do/say something more, but over the internet there's not really anything i can say that'd have any meaning... not that there really is anything that can be said/done irl... the situation sucks, and i'm sorry. crying
