Karahi stepped out into the freezing cold and felt barely anything at all. Nothing felt cold to her these days. She walked around the block and across the road stopping at the entrance to the shop.
Karahi stepped inside slowly. She knew that they had to do this someday, she just didn't expect it to be so soon. Once inside she saw that Kaosu was already there. Seated on a couch a few feet away from the door.
Karahi sighed quietly and sat on a couch a few feet away from the couch that Kaosu sat on. They had agreed on meeting eachother here together, but it seemed that neither of them was quite ready to break the silence that had been created. Her eyes were on the clock watching the seconds go by boredly. She was determined to make Kaosu break the silence. There was no way in heck that she'd be doing it.

Kaosu barely glanced over his shoulder as Karahi stepped into the shop, and sat just a few feet away from him. He refused to aknowledge her existence. Even though he wasn't upset about his powers anymore, he still felt the need to hold a grudge against her. He had Lucy now, and didn't need anything else, but Karahi was... Karahi. He always felt the need to annoy her.
Minutes slowly ticked by as the foxes sat there. Kaosu was frozen in place, not moving a muscle, or even the vocal chords inside his body. He didn't want to speak to his sister. Not one bit.

Karahi sighed. The silence was ticking her off, and if she stayed silent she knew that he'd do the same. She opened her mouth to say something, but she never got to say what she had wanted to say. For there was this feeling. It was a feeling that she knew very well. A hollow. She jumped up, her hackles bristling. "Kaosu! Get out of the shop! Now!" She cried to him, and there it was. A hollow the size of 5 full grown foxes. It was dark blue with a good portion of his mask missing.

As soon as Karahi spoke, Kaosu got even more ticked off. He turned to tell her off, but spotted something out of the corner of his eye that made him turn away from her. He stared into the eye of what Hitsugaya had described as a hollow. A demonic creature, it seemed. Demonic as well as... dangerous.
Kaosu turned back to Karahi, his mouth agape, eyes full of fear. What was he to do? He wasn't the one with the powers!

The hollow saw his opportunity. While the girl, the one that seemed to be more troublesome was distracted he slammed his fist against her side, watching her fall unconscious. He turned back to the boy. It was clear to him that the boy had less spiritual pressure. He should have the appetizer before the main course. That would truly make his day after starving for weeks. With a devilish grin he started walking towards him.
Karahi barely had time to turn around as a fist came slamming against her side. She practically flew to the opposite wall, colliding with it with immense force, before falling helplessly to the ground. She looked over at Kaosu with one eye, watching him shivering with fear. Just like that all her hatred towards him was gone. She just wanted him to flee while he could, and get out alive.

Gasping, Kaosu just stared as the hollow slammed his enormous fist down beside Karahi, causing her to fly up into the air and slam into the wall, slumping down on the floor. The anger melted away from his eyes, and was soon replaced with a morbid fear, for both his sister and him.
As he continued to look at Karahi, the fear was replaced with anger. Burning, searing, red hot anger. This hollow was not about to hurt Karahi before Kaosu got a piece of him. Kaosu flung himself at the hollow blindly, not knowing what else to do. He then attempted to sink his teeth into its body.

The hollow laughed evilly and swatted the young fox aside before it got to bite at its skin. "Foolish fox, you should've run while you had the chance. Now you're going to perish along with your sister." He raised a hand and started reaching for the fox.
Karahi was dreaming now. She knew what was going on currently and begged her body to wake up, but it didn't. She gave up after a while and wandered around in her dream. She was in a lovely meadow, the only strange part was that it was completely frozen over. She looked around and was about to move when she heard a voice. 'Will you be the one to wield me?' The voice chimed in her ear.
Karahi spun around in part fear and shock, but there was no one there. "W-who are you?" She asked in a shaking voice.

Slamming against the side wall of the shop, Kaosu slumped to the ground next to his sister. He merely stared at the hollow as he struggled to get up, his limbs all wobbly, feeling like jello. He wasn't so sure he should've stayed like he did, but he knew he had to try and protect Karahi. No matter what that meant.
Finally getting up, Kaosu wobbled his way over to the hollow. If he were a dog, he would've been growling and snarling as much as possible. "I'm not afraid of you," he spat, his voice only wavering a bit. In truth, he was afraid. But dying in the place of one he loved... he wasn't afraid of. Not one bit.

The hollow stared at the young fox in surprise for a second before bursting into laughter. The fox was visibly shaking and yet it was still trying to claim that he wasn't scared? Preposterous. He sped up towards the two young foxes and scooped up the one that was clearly unconscious. He twirled her around in his hand and laughed. "So then young one, would you be frightened? If I ate her before your eyes?" It was a good day, there could be no harm done in playing with his food.
'I am a part of you.' The voice whispered. Karahi looked around again. Still there was no one there. Then she realized who was talking to her. It was a long shot, but at this point it was the only possibility. "A-a-are you my Zanpakuto?" She asked. There was silence for a moment before the voice responded. 'That is for you to decide. Call my name.'

"Put her down!" Kaosu screamed, fearing, knowing, really, that the hollow really would eat his sister. Hitsugaya had informed his kids well - but how on earth was he supposed to battle this creature without any powers? "Eat me instead!" He shouted, not taking his eyes off of little Karahi, motionless in the hollow's giant, unforgiving hands. He'd much rather be killed than allow Karahi to die. After all, how could he explain that to Hitsu?

The hollow watched the young fox with an amused expression on his face. "As you wish, I always do prefer the appetizer before the main course." With a devious smile on his face, he reached down and tried to pick up Kaosu.
And then the voice was gone. Karahi waited for a few moments then knew it wasn't coming back for a long while. Not until she figured out its name. She fidgeted her paws and tried to think...
Her eyes blinked open and Karahi saw that she was in the hands of a hollow, and not too far from it was Kaosu's figure, shaking in fear. She was so glad that he was alive. She stayed still for a moment, hoping to trick the hollow into thinking that she was still unconscious. Fast. She had to think fast. And she knew exactly what to say. As quick as lightning she pulled out her katana and cried, "Freeze Yukihime!" There was a flash of light, the hollow was distracted, but only would be for a fraction of a second. She clawed her way out of his fingers and jumped down to where Kaosu was. She looked down at her katana and realized that it was gone except for the hilt. She looked back up and saw that there were butterflies. Rainbow butterflies, made of ice, swirling around the hollow.

Kaosu trembled as the hollow bent to pick him up. 'This is it,' he thought, shutting his eyes tight. That w as when he heard his sister's voice, loud and clear. And then a soft thump next to him. Slowly, he opened his eyes, one lid at a time. He then grinned. Sitting beside him was Karahi, and she was whole! Not even one bite taken out of her! He grinned even wider when he glanced back at the hollow - butterflies surrounded him... It seemed as if Karahi had gained something during her unfortunate unconsciousness.

The hollow took a step back in confusion and shock, but that would be his fast mistake, for as soon as he took that step the butterflies engulfed him and he was frozen to the core.
Karahi blinked as she watched the hollow freeze then she turned to Kaosu and hugged him. "Oh Kaosu! I'm so glad that you're alive!" She cried in joy.

Kaosu was stunned to the point of being frozen, himself. What had just happened here? All in what seemed to be a matter of seconds his sister had awaken, and froze the hollow. And it had all seemed so... easy.
Looking at his sister, he cracked a smile. "You found your Zanpakuto, did you?" He smiled even more, knowing his sister would be able to protect herself against future attacks, if there were any. But what about him?

Karahi blinked then smiled. "If you you'd been there. There was this voice telling me what to do and... Well it was amazing~" She paused and looked at him knowing what he was thinking. "I don't think you'll need to worry about Hollows attacking for too long. Daddy's working on killing them." She nodded, then unaware of herself she started parting the fur at her right eye and feeling the scar that she had.
