FOOLISH EXTENDED DISCUSSION MODS!
My precious has been moved to the recycle bin! And none of the mods are "online" which means the lazy twits were hiding, which they always do to avoid doing their jobs. In any case, one of them secretly must be online, and some a**-hat must have complained. Ah, well. Such is life.
In any case, I hereafter pledge to NEVER do anything productive for the Extended Discussion board again. I will work only to topple the foul and corrupt system as it exists now, to replace it with my own foul and corrupt system.
Obey. Conform. Produce.
That is all.

It was a good thread too... but no matter. A minor setback.

Reposting: Things that can be done to better ED. ----
But no, to make the ED 'safe' we need to do a few things.
Move the location of that little ED button to where it is less accessable than the chatterbox.
If you want to encourage 'real discussion' don't crack down on a particular style of writing, crack down on the immediate results of a style of writing.
Cul topics that get too long. No one will ever seriously read through 100 pages of a topic and reply... they're gonna read three at most, reply, and get flamed for not realizing their question was vaguely answered in page 33, 17th press of the page down button.
Encourage the utilization of the writers forums for works of a racy nature. I'm surprised most people choose to post 'lol i r fuxoring rei' vs an intelligent piece of work that might warrent discussion but should be examined in a critical light, and not a light of the casual "I want to discuss something' -er.
Get rid of this 'sense of community' - that's what guilds are for. I've recently joined several.
Get a standardized 'before you begin' FAQ. Yes, stickies are great, but wouldn't it be great if when you first came on you had a topic at your disposal telling you exactly how the gold system worked? An informative thread that's concise. From there, stickies can accent crutial rules to that forum in question.
Have a forum where one can air their greivances with moderators. This could point out problematic moderators, highlight the good some mods do (Doctor MEAN!, for example, proves very kind when she's on, and I'm not sure if he's a real mod or not but if he ain't, Sensedog of LI SHOULD be.)
And above all else? Fair treatment for all. Dammit.

Sethimothy Holy s**t. I just realized most of what I thought they should do in January... they now have ******** yeah. Yeah, but ED is still retarded. There must be something intrinsic to it's nature which has become foul. You picked out some very valid problems with it, and even when they were addressed, the level of stupid has, if anything, climbed. Conundrum!

Ythan 1: Are you, by any chance, gay? 2: If so, how conveniant. I have the sudden urge to make sweet, sweet love to you. 1) No, I'm just a fop and/or dandy is all. 2) Well, I'd love to help you out with that scene, but sodomy wouldn't help my cred with the ladies. ^_^ Instead, we can do that straght-dude hug with the shoulder-punch at the end to make it less gay. Or I could just give you a wicked beej on the down-low, because my gangsta friends assure me that that isn't gay at all.

People don't like it when I say what I mean. Especially my family. The brutal truth tends to...well...hurt their feelings, so I like to speak in sarcasm around them.

Xarn, you are a comedic genius. No wonder Ubiqistan wants to destroy all this useless "culture" and replace it with your sharp wit and cutting sarcasm!

The problem with ED is that you need Viagra to treat it. No, wait...
The problem with ED is it's a stupid magent. It attacts every t**t who feels the need to explode his/her/its prejudices all over the internet.
