The tall curvaceous female strode angrily from her quarters, the features of her face drawn in an unattractive scowl. An unfortunate servant chose that moment to step out of a room and turn around right into her, causing a collision of bodies which resulted with a loud crash of metal hitting the floor and Imordana to fall backwards into a nearby statue. The servant immediately got to her feet, and began to frantically gather up the dishes, while Imordana glowered at her and steadied herself once more. "Next time watch where you're going." Imordana muttered, deciding that it would take too much time and effort to punish the servant girl for colliding with her. The servant shuddered, keeping her eyes lowered to the ground away from Imordana's face and apologized in a tiny voice. "Yes m'am, I won't do it again." Imordana had already turned away and was heading towards the great doors of the House, to get away from the maddening demands of her Matron. It seemed that no matter what she did...it was never enough for the old fast fading woman. If only there was a way she could convince the others that the woman was going mad and that she shouldn no longer be regarded as the voice of order for the House of Fi'reth' ul. No that...was asking too much. The males...god how mad they made her...pretty much ignored every suggestion she gave or any order she gave and went directly to the matron for their orders. And despite how strange or unusual the demands and orders sounded they did it all, without a question or second thought. It was as if they had been brainwashed against all degrees of common sense. Contemplating how she was going to succeed in ridding the House of a mad Matron, she made her way down the stone steps of the House, and out the front gate into the city of Undrekk' Thoz.

Color danced through the crowd as drow moved to stay away from the strange thing that walked along the path. Nothing had been seen like this creature. It was a drow, at least part of it did. Dark skin glistened in the soft light provided by the lamps. Dark pink eyes glanced about but they contained a childish gleam to them. His white hair bounced back and forth over his right shoulder, at least that half of it. The other half of the male's hair was shaved close to the scalp giving him a very off balancing appearance. A smile, almost blank in nature, graced his very young face. This male obviously was not an adult, in fact he looked more like a teenager. But the thing that really set him apart was his clothes. Around his dark next was a light purple choker. Under that was a birght red and gold open chested vest. The red really stood out against his dark skin. On his wrists were yellow gauntlets. Around his waist was a green belt. Finally he wore bright blue pants and black boots. He really was different.
He laughed softly to himself as he weaved his way through the crowd. He danced a bit once he got to an open area but then stopped and continued moving. Guards glared at him but he only smiled and waved at them. One stopped and demanded to know his house and what his matron would think of his behavior. "Gir does not know!! Will the guard tell him what his matron would do? Go dig her up and see!" He giggled brightly with a childish glee to his voice, as if he had just told a . The guard glared some more, just another homeless drow who wandered the street. And judging by his behavior and his appearance he was quite out of his mind. With their large spear they pushed him along and told him not to hang around there. He nodded and waved as he continued along the street. He entered the marketplace, his favorite place. There were always interesting people here.

Imordana joined the throng of drow milling about the marketplace, glancing around for Dra'nafiel who had told her he'd be waiting for her. She frowned when she didn't catch sight of him tight away. Sighing, she slowly eyed the crowds trying to pick him out. Instead of seeing him, her attention was drawn by a bright blob weaving through the crowd. Imordana blinked and stared not sure if she were seeing correctly.
Apparently her eyes were fine because the blob of color was a drow...a most curious looking drow at that. She watched the drow's encounter with the guards of the marketplace and puzzled over how he acted. It was as if he were a child in the body of a teenager. He must have been dropped on his head as a babe...which seemed to be the style of midwives when caring for males. It was sad, someone should have taken care of him before he had become a nuisance to others around him. Sure...he wasn't really bothering people but his oddness was something that kept him marked and out of the inner circles of those who might have taken him in.
She pulled her cowl down farther on her face, to keep her eyeless face hidden from those around her and made her way to another side of the marketplace in hopes of seeing Dra'nafiel. He'd better show up soon or she'd be mad at him for standing her up. It had been his idea after all. She wouldn't forgive him anytime soon if he didn't show up or if he kept her waiting for much longer.

The young drow was more than contect to wander about the market place, almost going in a circle. Suddenly a large male warrior bumped into him. The young male fell back a little but and smiled up at the other male. This male however held rank despite his gender so he was none to happy to have this houseless male bump into him. "You! Apologize for your carelessness!"
Gir blinked and looked at the man in laughing confusion. "Gir does not know what you mean. He was merely walking, walking upon the earth within the earth when contact was made between two being. Beings of difference yet simiarities exist. Why should Gir apologize?" This was even weirder. Obviously the young boy's name was Gir and he spoke in the third person. But why? Well, considering his disrgaurd to the male he must really be insane.
"Foolish child! You regret such insolence!!" With those words the male lifted his sword and brought it across the boy, slicing him straight through the middle. But......he did not fall. In fact he smiled even bigger.
"Oh!!!! You want to play with Gir!!" He flipped, well his top half did. He balanced precariously on his lower severed half upside down. He laughed brightly, while some drow gasps and a few let out a small scream. The warrior himself seemed suddenly unbalanced as the boy who was suppose to be dead was still quite alive and moving! Some whispered perhaps he was a necromancer, unable to be truly killed. The legs continued to walk around the other male in a circle with his upper half balancing as he talked. "Gir likes this game! You should play too!!" With that he flipped himself right side up. His body seemed to mend instantly and, in a flash, Gir pushed the warrior's chest.
Now the strangest thing happened. The warrior fell backwards......at least his upper half did. It was as if he had been cleanly spilt in two. He yelled and others in the crowd screamed as his legs seemed to panic without it's upper part. It ran in circles, even tripping over it's upper half. The warrior desperately tried to get himself back together but with no avail. "Boy! Undo this curse you have made!"
"Say you are sorry for yelling at Gir." He was quite serious, despite the goofy grin on his facfe.
The male was about to spit back an insult when he was kicked by one of his own legs. He glared as he quietly spoke. "I....apologize....for my tone."
Gir smiled happily and clapped his hands with a laugh. As if nothing had happened, the warrior was whole. Gir just grinned as he rocked back and forth on his heels. The warrior, far too embarressed, barged his way through the crowd and disappeared. He giggled a bit and went to sit down on a near by barrel. The crowd quickly dispersed, not wanting to have something similar happen. No one seemed to guess the boy's true magic.

Imordana had settled down in a corner of the marketplace where she could see all the entrances at one time so that when Dra'nafiel did show up she'd see him immediately. Her attention was shifted when a commotion started in the marketplace. She turned back and wasn't too surprised to see the houseless colorful drow in an altercation with a high ranking male warrior. It didn't appear to her that it was going very well for the unfortunate drow, especially when the warrior drow drew his sword and swiped at him, slicing him through the middle.
When, much to her surprise the boy didn't topple over in half immediately she stared her jaw dropping. Then...much to her amusement as well as slight disgust the young drow used an illusion to appear as though he had been cut in half and flipped around with his legs walking around separate from the top part of his body. She felt a laugh at the back of her throat at the sight of the warrior apparently falling in half and the screams and gasps of those around her. She almost fell over with the mirth at the situation and how funny it was when the warrior began to panic and shout, and was then reduced to apologizing to the young drow.
She wiped water from her face, which was streaming out of her eye sockets as she silently laughed, as the warrior burst out of the marketplace like his backside was on fire. The vast majority of the crowd dispersed after the warrior, fearful of what the young drow might do to them. She cast one more glance around for Dra'nafiel and then gave up on waiting for him, making her way over to the young drow slowly and cautiously...so that others wouldn't think she was intentionally seeking him out. She adjusted her cowl over her face, making the upper portion of her face disappear into its folds and then came to a stop a few steps away from him.
"Hello there, I'm Imordana, that was quite a show you put on." Imordana said with a hint of admiration in her voice, making a sign of peace to the young colorful illusionist so he wouldn't be too alarmed by her approach.

As Imordana approached, Gir seemed to be simply staring off into space. It was as if he were lost in the haze that permanently surrounded his mind. He didn't notice anyone really, many openly avoiding him less he push them in half. He was completely unharmed from the looks of it, as if the sword never touched him. In truth it had not. Gir's magic, being so connected to his own mind, forms an illusionary shield around him. He's never were you really thing he is. Not even the female who stood next to him half hooded from view seemed to arrouse his notice. He finally broke out of it when the female spoke to him. He looked up at her with the most child-like face. It was one children gave strangers they weren't afraid of, one of curiousity and amuzement. He didn't see under her cowl but he smiled brightly anyway. This was a nice lady.
"Hello Imordana! Gir is his name! Thank you for the compliment! Gir always tries to do his best to be polite. The guard was not very polite. Gir made him apologize. Is Imordana shopping?" He really was quite child-like. Thinking only of the letter of the law and not the spirit. He kicked his legs back and forth, much like a child. He was smaller than most males, not only because of his age but obviously he didn't regular meals. Gir could only to so much for himself. He was not overly intelligent though some in the alleyways of the city spoke of his sadistic nature when truly insulted or threatened.

Imordana felt an odd feeling go through her when she saw Gir smile up at her and he began to speak to her. It was a feeling she couldn't really explain or describe...being so foreign to her. She felt oddly...possessive, and protective of the drow standing in front of her. She had no idea why it was, but she couldn't rid herself of the feelings, which she knew was unheard of in normal drow women. She hoped she wasn't losing her edge.
He really wasn't more of a child, the way he spoke, his mannerisms and the trustfulness in his gaze and tone. And yet...there was something else there behind the innocence he showed to the outside world. As though...the childlike innocence was a cover up for a more sadistic and malicious nature of the young drow standing in front of her. It unnerved her slightly, and she was glad that her cowl hid her face from him. She couldn't help but wonder how he might react to her having no eyes. She hoped she wouldn't find that out anytime soon.
She smile back at Gir and replied to his question, saying simply "It's nice to meet you Gir. I was amused by odd way you convinced the warrior to apologize. In answer to the last question, I was waiting for someone but they were probably pulled away by another errand. What errands do you have in the marketplace?"

Gir smiled brightly at the woman. She was nice. She agreed with him! The guard had been a bad boy and got punished. He giggled a bit then looked around. At a closer look Gir was a teenage drow physically, only slightly under nurished. The long hair had a slight curl to it and bounced back and forth as he rocked a bit. He looked thoughtful at her question, as if he had forgotten his purpose in being there. Of course, he really didn't have a purpose to be there. He shrugged his shoulders.
"Gir does not know. Gir just walks and he ends up places. So today he ends up in the marketplace. Gir has no house so he has no place to return. So he walks until he is stopped. Then he walks again." It was a simple answer but created a dozen more. Why was he houseless? And at such a young age. Also, for someone so young he had some very powerful magic under his belt. But he didn't seem to have constant control over it. As a small rock fell due to the bustle of movement, it landed on Gir's head. Not that he was injured but it did cause something wierd to happen. His clothes suddenly changed colors. Every article of clothing choose a new color to be. It was as if his magic was a seperate being from himself, having a mind of it's own. He rubbed his head a bit them smiled back up at her. "What does Imordana wish to shop for? Maybe Gir can help her find it!"

As Gir explained himself, an odd idea came to Imordana. What if she took him home with her? Sure..so he wasn't completely fit in the head, and his bright clothes might be an eyesore to Ad'hemar and Gir'branur but it would be interesting to see how they reacted to his presence. Perhaps bringing Gir into the House would make them see the madness that she saw in the Matron instead of being blind to it. The idea had potential.
She was brought out of her musing when Gir asked, "What does Imordana wish to shop for? Maybe Gir can help her find it!" She looked back at him and was startled to see that his clothing had changed color, the vest had become bright purple with large orange polka dots, his pants were now an odd green/yellow color with what appeared to be glitter all over them. His accessories had also changed appearance and color much to her bemusement. She grinned at him, suddenly feeling oddly gleeful.
"Actually...I was looking for an illusionist to hire. Would you like a job and a place to stay for awhile? I'll pay you the going rate for your work."

Gir looked confused all of a sudden. This woman was shopping for an illusionist? Why would you shop for one of those? He knew there were houses that specialized in them, even schools with well trained illusionists. Gir knew he wasn't like the other illusionists. They had taken him in once too, but kicked him out saying he was imposible to teach. But this woman wanted one. And she wanted Gir to be that illusionist? He was being offered a place to stay, which would be nicer than where he had been sleeping previously. But he knew most kicked him out rather soon. They couldn't stand him or he did something bad. He suddenly had the guilty child look as he looked down at his fushia shoes. "Gir does not know. Gir has stayed in a house before. But he made the matron made and he had to leave."
He swung his legs again, much like a child discussing things he wasn't sure he should be talking about. He twirled a lock of his long white hair as he thought. "Gir has never been paid before. He does not know what he would do with the money. Maybe by candy!" He suddenly seemed happy at the idea. He liked candy...and those crunchy shell things that one of the venders sold. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. "Would Gir have his own room? Gir....does not like sleeping with other people. He sleeps alone."

(((Awww..Gir makes me want to hug him! Dana: NO! No hugging! You humans are so...touchy feely. Eww.))))
Imordana wasn't too surprised by how he acted to her offer. He was after all not much more than a confused child with powers he could barely if at all control. She followed his gaze when he looked down at his shoes and smiled when she saw they were a fuschia color. "Well in my House's case, the Matron is already insane...so you can't make her any madder than she already is." She paused at this to smile at the joke she had made, then she went on. "You'll be able to buy a lot of candy with the money I give you, though you could also buy other things with it as well. Like some protection spells or things that might help you in the long run. It wouldn't be a problem to get you your own room, we have a lot of empty rooms at our House. How would you like to go get some candy and talk about what you want to do in a more...private area? Would that be alright with you?"

"Yay candy!!!" Gir clapped happily and hopped off the barrel he had been sitting on. Oh she had his attention know. Gir had a definate sweet tooth which more than a few pick pockets had taken advantage of. Using him as a distraction was great for plying their trade. A few most likely had taken some things during his previous performnace. When the female wanted to take their conversation somewhere private Gir got a little giggly. "Gir was told not to be in private with females. The boys who let Gir stay with them sometimes told him stories. They do bad things to little boys like Gir."
He giggled much like a kid who just said 'fart' in a crowd. Many who knew Gir wondered if he would ever really grow up, most doubted it due to his current state. "But Gir will go with you. He thinks you are a good female! You will not hurt Gir!" He was fairly sure of that. Mostly because he knew the female had seen a taste of his powers. He remembered many of the bad things he had done, causing others to either lose their own mind due to his illusions or just out right dieing. Even a drow could be scared to deaht.

Imordana was slightly surprised by Gir's exuberant display when she mentioned getting candy, but then reasoned that he must have a major sweet tooth. It was a good thing then that she had used it to ply his interest. She kept a straight face when he started giggling and gushed about how he had been told to never go into private places with females and the stories that people had told him about bad things that might happen. She felt like laughing out loud, but kept it in knowing it would only draw more attention to them.
"Yes, I'm a good female, I won't hurt you. And I'll make sure no one else tries to hurt you." She replied seriously.
Other drow were already becoming curious about the pair of them, with how loud and unusual Gir was acting. So when he assented to going with her, she held out her hand to him waiting for him to take it so she could lead him away from prying ears. She however had no clue if his mind was at the stage of thinking females were gross and would refuse to take her hand or not. She hoped that wasn't the case.

Gir was more than willing to take her hand. It was warm and soft, obviously someone who had never worked a hard job or wielded any weapon. For all Gir's power he was physically helpless. Her assertion that no one else would hurt him made him feel better about being with her. Females rarely gave such promises to males, especially those as weak as himself. He walked next to her, almost skipping a bit. He was going to get candy!! And a nicer bed than the floor of an abandoned house! Over all this was a good day.
Holding his hand also allowed Imordana to see a bit past Gir's constant illusion. He was a little skinny, something that could easily be fixed with a few good meals. He continued to twirl a lock of hair with his other hair as they walked.

(((Gir is so trusting, and so darn adorable! Imordana: Hey! I wield daggers well enough! ANd I have a sword I'm trying to learn how to use! *grumbles at the assumptions made* oh...do you mind if I speed this along a bit? If you want to play him buying the candy just say so and I'll rewrite.)))) Imordana led Gir past the marketplace and to the last vendor on the far end where the candy tent was. Once there she let him pick out a pound and a half of assorted candies, paid and then led him off while he munched happily on the candy she had bought for him.
They left the marketplace and kept walking until she found one of the abandoned buildings she had rendezvous in and went inside. Once inside they settled down in opposite corners, and Imordana patiently waited for Gir to finish eating his fill of candy before she brought up what she was going to say.
