I know there was a girl who had a topic earlier about hearing her name. That's happened to me before; like I could be reading a book in silence and all of a sudden something would just overwhelm me and I'd hear this loud whisper saying my name. It always left some kind of physical affect on me, like I'd hear a ringing in my head and it would break my concentration, or it would give me a headache, or my vision would blur even with my contacts in or my glasses on. Mostly head stuff, sometimes one of my legs would go numb, but that only happened twice and it was while I was standing up.
This is kind of similar, it just happened to me this morning.

I was laying in bed, and I fell asleep about 10:30 this morning after reading from 6:00 on (I have a weird sleep schedule). And I know I was dreaming about something (Hell, the dream isn't even important. I was just thinking about my RP character before I fell asleep and had a dream about her current situation in the story). Part-way through the dream I woke up to this overwhelming feeling and I heard mumbling, but it wasn't like anything I've experienced before with the whispers just saying my name or even talking to me. Because the mumble didn't sound directed at me because it sounded like a bunch of people talking all at once. I just brushed it off as another whisper and thought "Hey, if I ignore it, it'll stop like it always does."
So I close my eyes to go back to sleep and it happens again, only it got louder and I heard silverware clinking against plates and a loud woman talking in gibberish (I think at the time I knew what she was saying, but when I think back to it all I can hear is gibberish) and then she started laughing. And it stopped. Once again, nothing like I've ever experienced but I brushed it off. I was starting to get annoyed because I was (am) very tired and just wanted to sleep.
Once again I close my eyes to try and sleep and it happens AGAIN. But it's louder this time and I could hear the lady more loudly. I remember thinking "Just ignore it and it'll stop." But once that thought crossed my mind it started to get even louder to the point where it was unbearably loud. Then I remember thinking "Just shut up!"

And it exploded. Or sounded like an explosion. I went temporarily deaf and blind, as well as paralyzed. It felt like my entire body was numb, my ears were ringing and I couldn't hear anything but the high pitched ringing. I tried to move my arm that was holding my stuffed panda (yes, I'm 19 and I still sleep with a teddy bear) and I think my entire body convulsed. I wasn't entirely sure because I couldn't feel anything. I remember trying to keep my teeth together and it felt like a vibration was going through my head, then I know I was trying to bite my tongue (you know how you bite random parts of your mouth after the dentist stick you with Novocaine? it was something like that) and I couldn't feel it.
After about five minutes the ringing died down and the numbness went away and I could finally open my eyes. I was originally laying on my side, but when I opened my eyes I was laying on my back and looking at the ceiling. I was also very hot and soaked with sweat and shaking.
So I carefully turned back onto my side and tried to turn on my phone to see what time it was (along with holding back vomit). And every time I went to grab my phone, my hand would cramp up. So I let it sit for a few seconds before trying again, and when I turned on my phone it was exactly 11:11 am.

I discussed it with my boyfriend and he seems convinced it was a premonition because I've never felt anything that powerful except when I was dreaming. And I doubt it was the whispers because they wouldn't have tried so hard to get my attention.
Sorry for the TL;DR. I just thought I'd get every little detail in before I started forgetting, like I forgot what the woman was saying, but it's just gibberish to me now. It didn't even sound like English. Hell, every time I try to recall it now I start getting a headache and it gets worse and worse each time.

I thought I'd share with you guys because I'm honestly not sure what it was. It sounded like I was in a restaurant or a dining hall or something.
And before anyone asks: Yes, I'm positive I was awake. After the first time I heard it I was trying to fall asleep but it takes me a long time to even fall asleep after hearing a regular whisper, and this was different. It was definitely more powerful. I'm not trying to get defensive, I just know the question will pop up. It was the first thing my boyfriend asked me and even the first thing I asked myself. But the second time I heard it, I opened my eyes and I was staring at my mirror across my room and looking at my reflection to make sure nothing was near me.

This seems very interesting. Good thing you wrote it down.

What did this resturant look like and do you know what city it was in?

Not a clue. I didn't see anything, I just heard it. It scares me because I could see my room the second time. I don't even know what language they spoke now. But I was certain it was English, even if all I remember is Sim talk.

The woman stuck out to me though. I couldn't see her or anyone else but there was some red about her. Like she was wearing a red dress or something or she had red hair. I can just feel that...

You must be connected to that woman some how. Try to see if you have a realative with red hair or something.

I have no idea whats going on with ye but you may have seen something thats going to happen to you in the future

Hmm, the only relative and person I know with red hair is my aunt. But I don't think it's her.

I hope that's not the case. I'm just kind of hoping I'm not there (since I didn't see anything) and it was from someone else's point of view. Terrible of me, I know. But I know it was an explosion, and I know it kills people. I think it faded after so long because I (or the person I was) died...

*shudder*

maybe it was a past event, is your house built upon something else?... some of it sounds like what happens before someone astral projects.... the ringing, tingling, the explosion, voices, and such are some of the pre-projection occurrences....

one time i was trying to go WILD when i got snapped out of it when i heard what sounded like a cannon....

No, my house was built early 80's and there was nothing but forest here before it. It could have been a past event, that was one of my thoughts after I saw the time.

My boyfriend talked about that, too. He astral projects a lot and said that it sounded similar.
I only did it once or twice by accident and each time I could see. And I could still see my room when I opened my eyes while it was going on. I just don't know. gonk

I'm not saying that your story is impossible, but maybe you have a rare psychological disorder. I'm not saying you're crazy. All I'm saying is that you should rule out the other causes before assuming that the paranormal is responsible. You have to look at things from an angle of skepticism...

Ha, trust me. I go through everything I can think before going "omg! Paranormal!" I mean one of my dreams is to be a paraphyscologist, so I put myself through all the drills.
And if I had any other phsychological problem other than being bipolar and having add they would have found it years ago, to be honest. I told the doctor everything that happened to me when I was younger.
And the thought did cross my mind it may be a part of me being bipolar, or maybe I was really tired and imagined it.

The only thing I can't explain is the sound of the explosion, the blindess and deafness, and my entire body goi g numb at once. Unless you can tell me a medical disorder that matches everything I felt, then I'll have to agree there might be smething truly wrong with me.

I wonder if a brain tumor might cause something like that? I mean cancer runs in my family and it's not completely impossible? But the thought makes me shudder...

Okay... I just wanted to make sure that you know how to approach this kind of thing...

When I was really little I used to hear entire conversations going on in my house between people who were hundreds (and in some cases thousands) of miles away at the time. I later found out it had been the fish tank.

I don't think that its the same in your case, though. I'm just guessing, but maybe you had a seizure at one point? Its worth a shot, right?
PostPosted: Mon Oct 27, 2008 9:15 pm

We don't have a fish tank anymore. I miss the fishies. I used to sit in front of it when I was little and I would watch the fish for hours. Off topic, sorry. You just reminded me of that. xD;;

Hm, I thought of that, too. But I've never actually had seizures before and it was kind of just... random. I mean there was nothing around to cause one (unless they don't need a cause, I don't know much about seizures). But it does kind of sound like one.
Are there cases when healthy people just have seizures for no reason? I'm about to start looking up more information on that...

I've had the same thing happen to me. Not really to the extent that you did nor did I consider it in any way paranormal, but I hear full fledge conversations immediately before bed sometimes. Usually sounds like a large auditorium or concert hall full of people yelling or talking. Sometimes its just a bunch of murmuring, but at times there are distinct voices of small children saying obvious words or women talking about the kids running around. I usually just ignore it and try to drown them out with music, but the explosion that you heard is just plain weird and interesting.

If you didn't think it was paranormal, what did you think it was? I'm just curious because it might give me some more ideas. I mean, I've heard my name before and found ways to brush them off and not think of them as really paranormal, just tricks of my mind.

I just kind of thought that it was my mind remembering all the conversations of the day, or attempting to fill the silence (I'm a noise-person)...there were times it would get too loud to bear though.
