Rules are simple just list your favorite RPGs and why. It alright if you have more than one. For me My favorites Are Fire Emblem, a game that resembles a mixture of final fantasy tactics and chest. Final Fantasy which I have played since the original, I have played nearly all the titles except 11 and 13 which is not even out yet. One other game some would argue is or isn't would be Kingdom hearts 1 and 2 I could play that continually due to the active yet easy combat system and the fact that you can beat the crap out of things with a bluntkey shaped sword. By the way has anyone ever heard of Atelier Iris?

I really liked Final Fantasy 7 and 8. Back before it was just to look extremely cool during a battle and still had some strategy to it lol. Sure I like the ability to be in real time and avoid the constant warp into battle xD But I like my classics.

I would play 7 and 8 if I had them but unfortunately a sad event happened and I no long own them. I do how ever own quite a bit of the classic ff series 1-6 to be exact an have beaten them all. This may sound insulting to most people and others rather geeky but the eldest RPG that alot of ff and other games where based off of was D&D.(dungeons and dragons) I don't really play that any more but I used to love the stuff, I would play all night with my friends every other day.

For sheer fun, Okage: Shadow King is my favorite. The storyline is interesting, the characters are lovable (even the bad guys), and the design of the game is cartoony, but not enough to make it seem too childish. You take on the role of Ari, a boy who somehow gets an evil king (named Stan) living in his shadow. Stan has lost some of his Evil King powers, and wants Ari to help him regain them. They meet up with various other interesting characters along the way, most of them fake evil kings that end up joining your party after their defeat. The game is pretty cheap at most places, averaging about $5.00. It's for the PS2.
For gameplay, I'd say Legend of Dragoon is my favorite. The characters aren't the most beautiful aside from their portraits, but the environments are nice. The battle system is like nothing that had ever been seen before at that time. You have to time all of your attacks, each slice of the sword requiring a button press at exactly the right moment to deal the maximum amount of damage and proceed to the next part of the attack. The character voices fit almost perfectly. The storyline is a bit confusing, and sometimes it's unclear where you are supposed to go, but overall it is a very fun game to play. Considering it's one of the early games that was released in the US for the PlayStation, it's superb quality. It's hard to find this game, though, and buying it used may be the only way to go. make sure you get all four discs, though, or you'll have wasted $20.

My favorite RPG would be "Mario RPG - Legend of the Seven Stars" hands down. This awesome RPG for the Super Nintendo has Mario appearing in a 3D world which was incredible for the Super Nintendo in it's day! I loved the humor in it as well (mario communicates by doing a strange version of "charades" lol) It is also a very rare game now, but I was lucky to have bought it when it came out in 1996! yay! I'm really glad that I kept my Super Nintendo for so long XD
So if you guys don't have this game much less a Super Nintendo, look for it to come out on the Wii Shop Channel as a virtual download! 3nodding
This game is a MUST for any Mario or RPG fan!

I've got Legend of Legaia in my system at the moment. My favorite is Legend of Mana I'm actually on my second copy of that one. I really like the customization with where you want to place things on the map and instrument system not to mention the create-a-weapon/other item features. Oh hey - forgot the pets!
Hey is FF8 the one with all the sorceresses and time compression? I love that one. I have three save files, one of which had 80 someodd hours put into it - I've avoided heading into the Lunatic Pandora because it's so damned FUN to run around leveling up. The island closest to Heaven/Hell are kind of intense. I still can't best a Marlboro with logic or strategy it takes blind luck.

That is indeed FF8. I've watched youtube videos of a lot of the mana games. I once had sword of mana, which was quite an enjoyable game. Those marlboro are quite a pain. I either had good luck or was straight reckless but I tried to boost my stat defence on the more fatal stats like petrification, stop etc... and thanks to my high junctions on attack and hp as well as the fact that my characters rocked help with beating that monstrosity. Still I hate those things no matter what game they appear in. *Cough cough* bad breath.

The FF series hands down! I personally love the story for each and everyone of them. Plus they have one of the best OST ever!!! Mainly i love FF8 the most because of the battle system and leveling system. Only takes 1000 EXP to level up which is like a hint that battles are only going to get tougher as you go further into the story.
Also i love the original Legend of Legaia. that game was seriously sick!!!! such a unique battle system with punches and kicks to make your own combos. The story was pretty good too, just i wish the hadn't F***** up the second one with a game board style of the world map.

vendrie THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: Ocorania of Time hands down my favorite game period. I don't want to argue or anything since I do love the series and all and I have played nearly all the version up to the original. Legend of Zelda is not a RPG unfortunately, it is a labrinthe based action/adventure. It could almost have that RPG feature since Link has a health and magic meter, and as the game progresses you gain more heart, as if you where to level up, but who knows that too may become a RPG. I think I will add some more topics for other themes.

Well, mine would be Diablo 2. Yes, also the Expansion. Now, why? Well, though it's labeled as an RPG (and thats the reason why I'm putting this here) it's mostly a Hack and Slash type of thing. And I cant get sick of those. The turn based things remind me too much of a Strategy thing and I'm not that into consoles. (I own a GBA and a Wii... And that's about all.) Why I like it? It's fun, mostly simple when you know what kind of way you want to go with your class and also the searching for item sets. Kept me playing till Lv. 87 at the first time and Lv. 97 on Battle.net. Good times.

Arrtos Tarne Final Fantasy 4 or 6 (The real number 6). Not that is music to my ears, someone finally appreciates the classic series. Those two had killer story line, and ff4 was quite a challenge when I first played it. They are very intertaining.
