I actually did this a while ago, but I really didn't (and still don't) like the result. This was really just a little practice to try and get a better grasp of some of the UPC's, and Colin just happened to be the only one who got anything close to presentable. I got really, ridiculously lazy towards the end; not the least of which include that "background," not finishing the shading, and at one point resorting to dodge and burn, instead of actually using a third tone. Which is hideously obvious, thanks to the gross orange color on the side of his face. But oh well. >:

Just a preliminary sketch for a concept I've been working on. She's kind of an integral part in another character's back-story. I'm pretty sure I wanna lose the bangs. Aaannnd if it helps to know, she's a prostitute, and there's no real story behind her injuries; just felt like a nice touch~

This is practically done, but I'd like to touch up on the shading, and I wanna try and get to adding some lilies to the right of her face, sometime in the immediate future. I was going to add the pink ribbon to her arm, as seen in her Advent Children appearance, but I don't think I'll bother. It would've added a nice dash of color, though. o:

They looks awesome! Your characters are lively and their personality really shows off just from looking at them. I love your lines, they are natural and make it all look so normal and easy while we know it's not. The simplified Alusis character is really cute, too, and I like the strength of your girls. Since you posted, I came back several times to look through the thumbs and stare~.

Been there, done that, so often! Afterward, even though it looks "good enough", we never can stop seeing the bright orange-yellow spots first thing when looking at the picture and going D= but not wanting to actually go back on it and fix it. I am also guilty of something just smudging everything in the hair area and calling it quits. XDD

Haha, yeah, Johnny wearing Vanessa's outfit came up in conversation, and I couldn't resist. xD;

It spawned a slightly more retarded version, too. 8'D

I use the smudge tool all the time biggrin When used right, it looks good, imho 3nodding

Yar! I use dodge and burn on eyes, gems, and anything that needs a flame color scheme (looks gorgeous on fiery stuff). And, oddly enough, it works very well when doing hair when you swap out between highlight/midtone/shadow on each of them. There's an awesome tutorial that explains it better than I can that I use. But I'm stuck on my laptop for a few days and don't have my bookmarks available to me >_< I'll try to remember to post the link sometime!

*woos at Edmund* He was - is? - my favorite NPC on Gaia. Physically, those two gay vampire brothers are pleasing too, but way too wimpy. Edmund rocks. =D Good job on him!
