But what would someone recommend as a relatively cheap, practice amp for vocals(metal/screams). I'm planning on getting a shure SM58 mic and some kind of decent, cheap practice amp for now.

Any of these would work well enough.

Exactly what do you mean by "Metal/screams"? Brother, you'd better be careful, don't want to ******** the s**t out of your voice. And if you're going that route be careful not to become another deathcore band with "comedy death metal" lyrics. Myspace has enough of those, you gotta stand out.

Zeroofhate, myself and a couple of others are currently working on a sludge project called Gentleman Jack.

Yeah, because we ******** rock and want other people to know why we rock by melting their faces and smashing their p***y little skulls with our over powering Metalness.

Good luck finding that.
You might as well save yourself the pain and get the PA system now.

Zero, aside from you and I, Bassfu is probably the only one that knows what sludge metal really is in this guild.

maybe if you could explain it more, rather than just referencing it, we would have a basic and rather true understanding of it as well. I've been kinda curious as to what it is but haven't had the time to look it up.

You can. I'm just letting you know.

Pioneered by The Melvins in Washington, Sludge Metal is largely a southern sound, being led by such southerners as Crowbar, Down, EyeHateGod, Superjoint Ritual, and Acid Bath. Sludge is an offshoot of doom metal, it is far more abrasive, with lyrics revolving around suffering, drug abuse, etc. A few good acts to get started:
EyeHateGod
Leechmilk
Down
Superjoint Ritual
Jesu
Mouth of the Architect
Weedeater
Rwake (pronounced 'Wake')
Baroness
Big Business
Acid Bath
Soilent Green
Boogieman
Godflesh (more industrial, but they actually brought inspiration to many sludge acts to come)
Blacktusk
Bongzilla
Lair of the Minotaur
Neurosis
Isis
Torche
Boris
Mastadon
Cult of Luna
Pelican

I actually didn't know anything about sludge metal.

But i do like some acid bath, mainly the heaver stuff but the acoustic is good too.

Well i don't want to spend alot for something that i'll have to completely upgrade, for a simple single piece amp would a keyboard amp work?

here's one on craigslist for my area i was looking at, 200w, with simple built in EQ

I would never wash it. It would have her delicious hot guitarist sweat all over it. Among other things.

Good lord, do they airbrush those milk bags down in their music videos?

They look exceptionally full in that picture.
