Genesis 10:8-12 Talks about Nimrod, the first most powerful person the Earth had ever seen. He was a powerful hunter....ect.
Now nimrod is another name for moron.

Not the only time stuff like this happens. For instance, a man carrying a woman through the doorway after getting married. It started out as sexist, but now it's considered romantic.

I think Nimrod's role in the construction of the Tower of Babel and its subsequent destruction in the Bible has something to do with it. I guess, in hindsight, Christians saw Nimrod as being foolish.
