I just learned something very interesting today in my new testament class at institute. we were talking about Jesus christ and his ministry and we had to list down all of the miracles that he had performed. Of course we named all of the ones that we had known since we were kids but there was one that we didn't quiet mention. it was the casting out of an evil spirit.
this led on to about a five minute disscussion about illusionists and just stories.
My teacher Brother Swanson, had told us a story that had happned to him when he was a missionary. He told us that he and his companion were brand new in the mission feild. on this particular day they they were teaching a Numerologists (one who studies the runes and numbers and such to tell the future) anyways... He told us that he had begun to feel really uncomfortable and that the guy had on a completely different face. He said that Instead of closing the meeting with a prayer he had just given him their info card and dashed out the door. When he mentioned it to his companion he said that he had seen the same exact thing.
so I was just wondering, has anyone else witnessed/or had a similar experience? I have, sort of. it was my last year in young womens and my last time at girls camp. we were all staying in the cabin until the other girls arrive the next day. We had been telling each other scary stories for about two hours. the feeling in that room was horrible, I really don't know how to explain it... anyways we finally knelt down in a circle and prayed for the evil feeling to go away... and sure enough, even before we said AMEN we could feel the evil feeling(i prefer to say presence) go away.

(Sweetie, ya don't need to bump, just wait till someone replies. We all have busy lives and such.)
Definitely, casting out evil is a true miracle. I think many who have been on missions, like me have had those experiences but been counseled not to share them for sensational reasons (they aren't supposed to be used as ghost stories, but ONLY when they spirit prompts you TO share them because they may help someone.). However, one thing I know for SURE is that we have ALL been given MORE POWER than Satan! Now THAT is pretty dang awesome! All we have to do is make sure that our actions do not invite him in, and we can keep him out!
So take that, Lucy! (I sometimes like to call him Lucy just to annoy him. You know. Lucifer... Lucy... anyway.) Neener neener! I want to live my life in such a way that every morning satan goes "DANG IT! She's AWAKE!"

I had a friend in WV. One night she was in her room reading her scriptures, when this dark shaodowy thingy came in. It really scared her. she said by the authority vested in me I command you to leave (her father was stake president) and it did then her dad rushed in because he had gotten a feeling that something was wrong, and when he came in she was almost hysterical. (true story)

By my theoretical calculations, there are about 36,000,000,000 souls. (No I don't know!!! I'm guessing by multiplying the worlds present population by the amount of time mankind has been arond. There were less people in the early centurys and there's more to come, but that makes up for the people who skiped on the census ><). Now that would imply that 18,000,000,000 souls followed satan and float around on earth.

BUT THERE'S MORE!
We all know that we have power over satan. Now if he's head honcho, imagine the power we would have over his little droogs.
Personally.... I can't ever remember seeing something or feeling something that made me think there's an evil presence around. I atribute that to the fact that I refuse to give room for a possibility of it. Not because it can't happen (old and new testament are full of examples) but because I know as long as I give them the silent treatment, they can't do a thing about it.
I'm about to leave on my mission and who knows, being on a spiritual high 24/7 might open my eyes to some shadows I missed. I think there's a reason though that we have such simple council in dealing with satan's tricks other than the temptations.
