There was another school shooting today in Finland.
The previous one was last year, 7th of November, a 18-year-old student shot 9 people (including the headmistress and himself) in a school nearby my hometown. Jokela School Shooting on Wikipedia
Today we heard of another school being attacked by a 22-year-old student, he came in the school, set multiple small fires around the hallways, claimed he'd planted a bomb somewhere (the bomb was never found by the police, so they suspected it to be a lie) and he then went to a basement classroom where an exam was taking place. He shot 9 people and then himself in the head. So far, he's still alive. But like in the Jokela case, where the shooter shot himself in the head as well and survived, he died later on the same evening. We're suspecting that today's shooter will die soon too and answers to his actions will never be found.
sad

That's terrible... As always... And scary...
Did anything like that actually happen in countries other than US and Finland? I've heard of none in Poland (just one person stubbing another in a school building)...

Seems like this is big news all over the world - CNN report I've heard of a few in Sweden, but nowhere else. There also was a stabbing in my hometown this past summer, when a mentally ill young man stabbed quite randomly a 14-year-old girl to death on a basketball court. This man was a friend of my brother's friend. D:

These things would always become big news... If it's sad, terrible or bloody - it's going to be there. The more deaths the 'better'.

So, 10 people dead + the killer. Knew he would die of the headwound he caused himself.
My dad phoned his sister to ask if her son was okay, he was studying in Kauhajoki, but not in that particular school. He was in another school 100 metres away, he said they suddenly got told to go home without no reason, the students had gone outside and saw multiple police cars, ambulances and firetrucks all over the place. They had no idea what was happening. He went to his apartment (next to the smoking school), but wouldn't be let in, because they'd evacuated the area due to the bomb threat. The phone lines were blocked for 2 hours, so he couldn't contact his mum or vice versa. Luckily he's okay.
EDIT - /b/ is ******** /b/, when the Jokela incident happened last year, it was the same. They just made fun of the whole thing. D:

Divinus Cruor I don't think that has happened in Mexico, or at least I am not aware. But there's something big including students, guns and death. Sad I tell you. and it was big. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tlatelolco_massacre that happened 21 years to the day before my birthday. mana - i'm glad he's okay. and i know /b/ is ******** /b/. that's why it was bad that i found out about it that way. i'm normally alright with /b/'s jokes, even if i don't find them funny, but there are some times when i wish that /b/ would learn some ******** respect.

You're not going to see much respect in a place where anonymity runs wild and all accountability goes out the window.
