... to talk to yourself? I mean, I talk to myself all the time but it's only randome thoughts like, "not DA, LJ! I wanted LJ!" or "no, the milk doesn't go in the cubboard". I talk to myself about clothes I should wear, how silly people are acting and things I remember hearing. It's not crazy talk, just commentary. And other times I'm working out a story in private. in public I'd look nuts but I make sure no one else is around.

So is it that strange to talk to yourself? What do you think?

I don't think its strange. I talk to myself frequently--gestures and all. However, I do get a few wierd looks... wink

You're strange for thinking it's strange. XP

It's natural.
When we want to please an audience (or a bf/gf) we create an audience. Before we do anything we create an audience.
I talk to myself all the time. It gets really bad when you start talking to inanimate objects like they're real and can answer your thoughts. (and then your conscience answers back and you hold a conversation.)
I do it all the time with my teddy bears. I can tell you the names of almost all of them. ^_^
(yes I am wierd like that)

I think this falls more under the category of "thinking out loud."

It's a delicate balance, right? Embrace what helps you think better at the risk of looking like you're schizophrenic.
So, unless the people around you start saying they had conversations with you that you know you didn't, and you tend to blank out and wake up somewhere else a couple hours or even days later, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Okay, but it still freaks out my roommates how much I do that. I never thought it was weird, just a way to think without having cluttered thoughts.

Hmmmm... never had fluent conversations with inanimate objects. Coaxed them and threatened them sure, but they never answered me in my head. Never had blackouts either. So I guess it isn't weird. *happy*

Yeah, I do that too and yeah my roomies think it's weird. But mostly they just laugh at me. It's pretty funny actually.

I almost never stop talking. Since I am usually "alone," you would THINK I talked to myself a lot... well, I used to. Corrected that by always carrying my babies with me! My gliders like to hear my voice, it's good for bonding, and when CAUGHT by someone, I can just say "I'm not talking to MYSELF. I was talking to THEM, thank you very much!"

Maybe you should worry if your roommates are alright in the head. People who are that "normal" aren't...normal. Teehee.

And I do that all the time. Usually threatening my computer when it's being a pain.

I talk to myself. We have good conversations together sometimes razz Okay, more like I talk to figure things out and sometimes when I figure something really obvious (or really stupid) out I speak kinda loud, usually no one else is around 'cause my roommates/housemates are at work, (or in the case of my housemates, downstairs where I am not) That or I talk to the cats (everyone in this house talks to the cats... at least I think so, not sure about the two exchange students...) And definitely inanamate objects. Most frequently recently, I've spoken to the oven and cooking materials since that's what I've been doing a lot... that and the sewing machine... and everything that goes with it. oh, and of course the computer. That thing drives me nuts sometimes... Honestly it's so rude! Restarting in the middle of a conversation, honestly...

I actually have philosophical debates with myself sometimes. Not just stuff about morals, judgment and perception, sometimes I stop and realize that Douglas Adams would probably call me insane. I was once asked to leave a store because I was talking to myself to loudly and didn't realize it.

I'm a bit of a loner at school, you know? So I entertain myself throughout the day by muttering to myself. heart
