Does anyone else do this?
Each year, each section designs a shirt, and takes the design to a store to have it made. Each section has a unique shirt that all the members of the section help design.
Its not required or anything, its just something we do for fun.
So my question is, does anybody else do this? And if so, what are some of the shirts you made like?
On a side note, my friend said shes gonna get a shirt made for me for my birthday, that says "Forget football players, I want me a band boy!"
XD I love it

I wish... Closest thing we have is shirts from those miniature stores at festivals and little wristbands that say your section on them... too bad only about 8 (of 27) of us in the band actually got those wristbands, haha.

I know the low brass has shirts this year, and the flutes made shirts a couple years ago. My freshman year (I'm a senior now) we had sweatshirts made that said Saxohpones on the front and had your name the name of the show and the year. I still wear mine sometimes. This year though, I'm not sure yet.

yeah we do section shirts, the tuba section didnt get to do them last year cuz drw (my section leader) rejected all my designs but this year we definatelly are and we are having company shirts too...(Our band is broken into 5 companies) and our company (COMPANY 4 BABY!) is going to design shirts that say "Feel the grass" it's our little slogan and yes we know, it has a bad meaning and if you don't know what grass is...well....anyways i love section shirts they are so cool cause think about it they are so unique that only a select few people in the whole WORLD have a shirt exactly like the one your section designs.

I know our band doesn't. We have a hard enough time trying to figure out the design for the regualar band t-shirts.
Plus, it would be kinda expensive. Some sections in our band are Huge.

We have overall band shirts, but not section ones... I would LOVE a shirt that says "it's all about the trumpets", though. *may have to find a way*

We used to but every time I was disappointed because my section leaders didn't really listen to what everyone wanted. xp

Lolz our flute shirt said our names and "The World Would Bb Without Flutes" Haha. B flat. Puns. It took people forever to get it though XP
And on the front it had FLUTES written on a bar of music.
Last year two of the girls made their own shirts that say "Flute Loop" and I want one. Too bad I'm a freshman and wasn't around then XP
And @ Ryuusei-Hi: Yeah, the tenor saxes were having that problem too. And my friend [also a freshman] has to design the baritone shirt herself and get it made because the rest of the baritones are freshman, except for one sophmore, and hes well...kinda...bad at band in general. So yeah XP

========================= In the band I'm in, every section is supposed to get one. I'm in the horn section, and we're still trying to figure out just what to put on it. Probably one of the inside jokes we had. "Oh. Those five counts." That wouldn't be funny to anyone else, but we would always laugh about it.

No but I want one so bad.
I want a shirt to say, "BHS dumline. That's how we roll."
But no one else wants one.
Instead we wear blue bandanas to the games.
BHS stands for Bothell High School by the way.

I think my section usually does shirts, but they haven't this year, or at least not yet, so I can't say anything about them.

Well we do it too. Except only the section leaders really take part in them. We are only aloud to say what we want on them like name year graduate things like that. But our sax t-shirts for the past couple of years have said:
front: Hot sax back: thier name, Band was a bad choice
front: Marching saxs back: Practice safe sax always wear a neckstrap.
Also our colorgaurd made their t-shirts say:
front: Colorgaurd back: We whip, flip and strip it all night long
All funny but wrong also.... All of them got band from school...
