I had accidentally broken my mom's pink quartz Manhattan candy dish I am so dead. Apparently the bowl is fairly rare but I am so thankful that I did not shatter my mothers blue berry dish. Do you guys think that I should pay for the replacement or find a dish in an antique shop and perchance it or something similar to it?

I know that if I broke something I would offer to repay the person for what I had broken, even if it was my Mother. If she is anything like my Mother she would more than likely just overlook the matter and figure that what is done, is done. You could also offer to replace the dish I suppose. As long as it was not something special from someone then I would figure it could be replaced. 3nodding

I think it would be better for you to just own up to it and admit to doing it, it's not like you did it on purpose, so my suggestion would be to pay for the replacement.

they are fairly rare dishes, but I'm fairly certain my grandmother has one similar in her home. I'm sure if you perused a few antique shops you'd find one. =] offering to pay for it is always a good option, although you mom might feel that it was irreplaceable and say you wont find another like it etc. It never hurts to start with a sincere apology.

Well... I would apologize first off. Then, you should offer to pay for a replacement. Accidents happen.

You should apologize to your mom and then offer to pay it off fir her so she can maybe get a difforent dish or one just like it. You can always find certain dishes at antique and thrift shops a lot. I wouldnt worry to much about it unless your mom is one of those people that freaks out if anything is broken like my grandma. Last thanksgiving me and my cousin were playing baseball and lets just say the bat slipped when I hit the ball.
