Books. It was the first thing Julien thought of when he thought of Aesop, and seeing books always made him flash on the quiet boy and the memory of their fun little play. So when the time stretched long enough that Julien was getting lonely for Aesop, he made arrangements to meet the other boy at the library. He packed a large lunch into a backpack, figuring they could picnic outside in the shade from the trees, and afterward, he'd be able to use the empty pack to cart home books. And he'd had Mireille drop him off, assuring her that he was just fine, and perfectly safe.
Now, to wait for Aesop...

Cindy was a little curious as she walked Aesop down the sidewalk toward the public library on this sunny day. That voice on the other line.. It didn't sound like the little Julien she knew. "You heard it too, didn't you Aesop? Julien didn't sound like Julien, did he?"
Aesop gave a soft little nod. "But... It was still Julien." He knew. He could tell it was. But there was something different about the boy.
As Cindy held the door open for the white haired boy, she noticed those same white locks from an earlier day... Attached to the now grown Julien's head.
"Oh... My God." She managed to spit out as her jaw dropped to the floor. Julien? Was that really Julien? "J-Julien?" She called out with wide eyes, at which the librarian gave a "shhhh" from her little space behind the desk.
Aesop only smiled at his old friend and trotted up to him as if it was nothing. "Wow, you've grown." Was his soft comment to the teen's large height advantage.

Julien grinned, turning and waving to Cindy before dropping down to put himself at eye-height with Aesop. It seemed the thing to do, to him. "Thanks," he said, voice kept soft in deference to the librarien. "You look good. I brought us lunch so that we could picnic outside whenever we're ready. Will you join us?" he asked, looking up at Cindy with openly curious eyes.

"Oh... Y-yeah. Sure." Cindy gave a glare at the librarian, but complied with her wordless request. Her voice may have been a whisper, but her eyes were still examining him with shock. "B-but... How'd you...?" She wasn't even sure how to phrase that. She used her hands to gesture how tall he used to be, and how tall he was now. Just a little above her head. Then, a shocking thought hit her. Was... Was Aesop gonna do this?
Aesop simply smiled and gave him a nod. Before all that happened, he wanted to find a few books in this place. Oh, what would he find? He was so excited.

Julien shifted closer to Cindy, leaning in so that he could keep his voice quiet when he answered her. "I just... grew. It gave Mireille quite a start, but she says now that it might be normal for us, the way it happened. Don't worry too much, okay?" he added, smiling warmly at her before moving back toward Aesop. Though it felt a little awkward to be so much taller than his friend, after so much time spent with the others, he was growing used to it. "What sort of books are you going to look for?"

Just... Grew? That was more than a little odd... But it didn't surprise her as much as it should've. With as much strangeness as Aesop had brought into her life, nothing was that surprising anymore.
Aesop glanced up at Julien momentarily as he started looking through the shelves, identifying what was there, and continuing with his search. "Mother suggested Shakespeare and a few other things..." She would've told him to read Stephen King, but he was a little young for that in her opinion. "Oh, and I need to find books on tarot cards..."
While Aesop searched for his books, Cindy did her best to get over gawking and decided to look around for literature of her own. What would she get today? Hmmm.

Julien considered that, moving to peer through the bookshelves as well. "Shakespeare is supposed to be a classic, I think," he agreed, kneeling down just beside Aesop. "I think he wrote funny and serious stories. Do you want something funny?"
Pale fingers reached up to move over the spines delicately as he let the titles filter through his mind. "I was thinking of looking for some books on projects and more recipes."

"I was thinking of starting with his more popular pieces then continuing on if I found him as interesting as everyone seems to think he is." He wasn't as in to fictional literature as he was with the cold hard facts of life. But he supposed he'd learn more about old literature and English if he read some of Shakespeare's work. "So maybe Romeo and Juliet. There are references back to that play in everything." And he wasn't kidding. Television, games, even other works of literature. "Then Macbeth. Because Mother really liked that one."
Aesop looked up at Julien at his mention of what he sought. "You cook?" The small boy asked with curios eyes.

Julien nodded, moving to sit down in front of the shelves. "I don't know that much about Shakespeare, but I think Mir has a book of his in her shelves. You could probably borrow it, if you like his work?" He smiled as he reached for a book, tugging it out and thumbing through it.
"I cook. I'm trying to get better, too. I like being able to make things that make people smile, and food seemes to have such... reactions to it."

"That sounds good." Aesop gave a nod and blinked as he found what he was looking for. Romeo and Juliet. Here it was. He stared down at the book as if he'd just been given a child to hold, a soft smile creeping up on his lips.
His eyes then glanced at the now teen Julien. "Oooh, can you make spaghetti? Or pizza?" After all the Italian food Cindy had fed him, he was an addict now. And if Julien could make things like that, Aesop would have a reason to come over more often.

Julien blinked at the question, tilting his head to one side. "I've never tried," he said thoughtfully, a smile beginning to bloom on his own face. "Let's look for a book on how to make them, and I can learn for you. Sound good?" he suggested, already shifting to his feet and stretching as he prepared to head off in search of such a book. "Do you know what type of food those are?"

"Italian?" Was Aesop's immediate response to the question. Every time he ate the stuff, it usually had an Italian label on it, so it was a safe assumption. He followed Julien quietly, clutching the book he'd picked out so it wouldn't try and get away from him.
"We order pizza every Thursday night. There are so many different things you can put on it... Like... These little fish called anchovies." Aesop had never tried them, but from the way Cindy described them, he probably didn't want to.

"Pizza, hmm?" Julien said thoughtfully. "You know, Mir's ordered pizza a few times. She likes this meat called pepperoni on hers. I wonder what else there is you could put on it. Maybe I should learn how to make pizza?" he suggested to Aesop, grinning cheerfully. "I can even put those anchovy things on it?"

"Supposively." Aesop replied and gave a nod as he spotted some book labeled 'Cooking'. His eyes glanced through the books slowly, looking for any title that mentioned Italian.
Meanwhile, Cindy had found all the books she wanted and proceeded to lounge on one of the couches offered in the seating area. "Ahhh..." She sighed out and closed her eyes, hands on her books.
