Rock Field
Tremors rippled forth from center-field as the basic floor shifted to a rock and dirt field, rock towers jutted forth from the ground to offer a place of escape or an attack advantage. The breeze from the stadium air conditioners stirred the loose sand on the field, this creates a mini sandstorm that could possibly blind those who were battling.

Saspra walked into the stadium looking around. So it was a rock arena. The AC felt nice, but the sand whirling around down in the battle field looked almost annoying. "Come on out Shadow!" She called out and Shadow came out with a bright red light.
Shadow huffed as he entered the arena. It was sandy. Not the best choice for a Pogeymon like him. Either way he sat down awaiting his opponent.

Lisa walked into the field and looked around. It looked like a desert, but the AC made it cooler. She threw the pokeball containing Midnight. "Let's go, Midnight!"
Midnight came out and shook herself. Hmm, sand. That would make traction harder, the Houndour thought to herself, but it'd be a great place to do some digging.

Saspra smiled at the other trainer. "I'll go first." She called over. "Come on Shadow use Flamethrower!" She ordered her vulpix.
Shadow opened his mouth and letting out a massive amount of flames. Then he directed them at Midnight.

Midnight got hit by the flames, but wasn't too preturbed. She was, after all, part fire as well. She shook off the remaining embers.
Lisa sighed. She'd done research and found that moves of the same type as the pokemon on the receiving end did less damage. This time, it was a double edged sword for her. Lisa called out to Midnight. "Midnight! Get him with your Smog attack!"
Midnight opened her mouth in much the same way as Shadow had earlier. But, instead of intense flames, poisonous smoke issued from Midnight's mouth. The smog enveloped the area around the combatants like a eerie, blackish fog.

Saspra watched in despair as Shadow was poisoned. Not good. "Come on Shadow, Confuse Ray!"
Shadow shook and let out a white glowing blob towards Midnight.

Lisa smiled a bit. Perhaps she could win this? Best not get cocky this early in the battle. "Midnight! Close your eyes and dodge it!"
Midnight saw the light, but only briefly before shutting her eyes tightly. She could almost feel it as it passed, slightly addling her senses, but she shook her slight daze off.
"Now, counter with Bite!"
The houndour rushed at Shadow, fangs barred and some saliva raining from the edges of her mouth. Sharp teeth attempted to clamp down on the vulpix as Midnight aimed to tear at her victim's flesh.

Saspra watched Shadow growl as his attack missed. She knew he wasn't happy and wouldn't be until he hit. "Confuse Ray one more time!" She ordered Shadow.
Shadow twitched as the poison affected him once more before he let out yet another glowing white blob towards Midnight.
This battle was getting tense. Saspra only hoped that she'd manage to pull off a win.

Another confuse ray? Phfff. Midnight thought as she, once again, closed her eyes and avoided the light once again. This was becoming some what annoying.
Lisa praised her pokemon before giving out more orders. "Midnight! Try another bite attack!"
Midnight opened her eyes and rushed once again at Shadow, this time waiting until she was closer before opening, then closing, her jaw in another ferocious bite. True, it was redundant, but hopefully this time, she'd hit.

Shadow glared at Midnight as she tried to bite him again. Rolling his eyes he jumped away.
Saspra silently cursed as the attack missed again. "Shadow, use Growl!" She ordered. This way when the bite finally hit it wouldn't do as much damage.
Shadow ran over to Midnight and growled in her face.

Those dice do seem to hate us, though...))
Lisa muttered a few curses as well when Midnight's attack missed, and a little more when Shadow used Growl. But there are always ways to remedy such things as low attack. "Midnight! Get your attack back up with Howl!"
Midnight once again missed. This was getting very annoying. On top of it all, that pesky little fox had just growled at her. She heard Lisa's command and smirked a bit. That was just the thing to get her spirits up! Midnight let out a long, loud howl.
