 Welcome to Sabin Duvert's Plot Thread! Please read this intro for basic information!
EDIT: I would also like to wait a week or two (From today, Aug 9) before making firm decisions - to both give myself time to unpack from the move/work on open RPs, and see what options present themselves before making final decisions on big plots to involve these soquili in ^.^ Exception: Casanova. He will be involved with anyone and everyone XD. Special Note: Casanova is looking for mares! Scroll down to read more about him - but I'm looking for a big group of mares whom will be a part of his love life - this isn't a "harem" - Casanova will probably actually prefer it if they never meet - preferring one-on-one courtships and developments of relationships.
HOWEVER - I am looking at some point at trying to make a breeding bribe offer to a colorist (I'd foot the bill) with a BIG group of mares as the possible mother and working a plot around that :3. Technically, you don't even need to RP with him to be included on the potential list - as I assume that Casanova would be involved with many more mares than I could possibly keep up with RP.
EDIT - for now, at least until I finish a few of the currently ongoing RPs with Casanova, unless we've already spoken about one with him, I'll ask to wait before starting a new one. While Casanova would (and will!) interact with any and every mare, I can only keep track of so many RPs at once XD This thread will be used to draw attention to Soquili who I am currently in search of plots for. Some of them I may have ideas for that I want other soquili to play roles in, others I may be very open to ideas with. Be advised, I get a little neurotic if I have TOO many RP's ongoing at once, so I generally prefer to work on up to a max of 8 or so at a time before I want to wrap some to start others up. Likewise, I don't like involving the same soquili in more than one, maybe two, RPs at once for continuity's sake. This thread is very much a Work in Progress. To visit ALL my soquili and read their profiles, visit my teepee (linked in the banner above) ^.^ And in general, I'm pretty friendly and approachable. If you have a spiffy idea, don't hesitate to post here or PM me - even if it's not with one of the soquili listed here. I may not be interested, but I won't bite your head off or anything for asking, and I will at the very least respond to let you know whether or not I'm interested smile Likewise, if you have a spiffy breeding idea, the same applies as above. Many of my soquili I will likely want to RP (or at least Plot out) interactions, and I do currently have some breeding plots lined up for my raffle attempts, but it's fun to brainstorm and such. I may very well say I'm not interested, that I have other plot ideas in the future for that soquili, or maybe that I'd like to try out some RP between the two in the meantime because I've got other plans I want to try for first, but I won't be offended if you want to ask smile *Essentially, when it comes to breeding, I currently have plots/ideas/plans for about (at least?) five breedings already - and given that you can only enter two pairs in a raffle, unless you want to try bribes, it will probably be a while till I can start trying with a new couple in raffles. So while I'm not opposed to discussing and Rping possible pairings, but be advised that it may take me a while to be ready to try in raffles. Finally, I may be slow in deciding which proposals to accept - due to wanting to find good matches RP-wise for my soquili and therefore may want to consider a few different offers, and also because of my reluctance mentioned above to be involved in a large number of simultaneous RPs. I also prefer a decently-paced RP - anywhere betwen a tag a day and a tag every couple of days. If you're really slow (like one tag every couple of weeks + , then I'll honestly probably be a little frustrated with the pace because I don't like leaving a lot of ongoing RPs open ^^; SO! If all of that sounds all right to you, and you have ideas, post or PM away! biggrin

Personality: Queen Lumi is a frigid mare, both physically and emotionally. She has very little empathy for other soquili, although she isn't exactly selfish either; she isn't ruled by emotions. Her heart is as frozen as the ice she surrounds herself with. She can be cruel, and generally prefers her own company and the company of creatures of the ice and snow. She thinks that nothing is more beautiful than the glory of winter, the perfection of snowflakes, and the pristine cast that snow and ice brings to the land.
She can be very vain, thinking herself the queen of the snowflakes themselves, and cruel if her self-proclaimed title is challenged. The only emotion that Lumi seems to be able to express (and it is rare at that) is anger. However, Lumi does not see herself as "evil" - in fact, she is more of a perversion of the purity of the unicorns taken to the extreme degree. She sees ice and snow as the purest form of beauty - that can blanket out the ugliness (physical and mental) in the world.
Instead of the pure, magical healing that most unicorn horns grant, Lumi's horn (which appears to be a permanent icicle) can grant others the gift of resilience to the cold if she chooses, or to spread it.
Queen Lumi will never be found in the land in the spring or summer, only when snow and ice blankets the Kawani lands. She fancies herself the Queen of the Snowflakes and has built herself a palace of frozen ice and snow in the highest reaches of the mountains of the North that even the summer sun has not the strength to melt. A few times, other soquili have wandered up to her frozen grounds. She can play a gracious host if she sees something in them that might echo her lonliness and rejection from the world, and she will coddle that, whispering of the ugliness and cruelty of those "others". She will grant them the resistance to the cold, and encourage them to stay and withdraw from the world like herself... trying to make them "beautiful" like her and metaphorically encasing them in her frozen web. However, the bodies of soquili encased in ice hidden deep within her sanctuary seem to attest to a frigid madness within the mare. Devoid of true sympathy, she views them as soquili finally made beautiful- no longer lying or acting in ugly ways. In her mind, this is sometimes the only way to "fix" a soquili (or other being)...
History: No one knows what it was that froze Lumi's heart and caused her to grow distant and cold. Perhaps she was born that way. Some say that her mother abandoned her to the thick snowdrifts when she was but a foal, and only through becoming like the ice and snow herself was she able to survive the winter.

Friends: None Single. I do NOT see Queen Lumi lifemating unless an extreme circumstance and a VERY like-minded soquili. Queen Lumi is very off, and very unemotional except for when her temper is roused. Breeding is a possibility, although it will not be lovey-dovey at all, more of a manipulative icy-embrace. Plot: A soquili to RP out the sort of scenario that I described in her background. This wouldn't be the first time ICly that she has ensnared a soquili in her icy spiderweb, but it will be the first time I get to RP it out. I envision a soquili who has a reason to retreat from the world - to escape others or perhaps dealing with their own personal issues and finding his way to her icy palace. She would lure them with sympathetic words, speaking ill of the world beyond her snowy kingdom, and slowly try to influence them to withdraw more from the world along with her, granting him gifts of the cold. Perhaps this could be used as a development for a soquili who is trying to deal with a darker side (a reformed Kalona perhaps or a part-kalona?) and she promises them a purity from their darkness and the cruelty of the world. I see this soquili escaping from her grasp (perhaps they find her previous "guests"/"projects" frozen in an inner sanctum and realize the trap that he was getting himself into before it's too late. This would earn Lumi's ire, but I'm not going to kill your soquili or anything of course XD. But I think this could be good development for your soquili to realize that withdrawal is not the answer in dealing with their inner (or outer?) problems. This can also set Lumi up as an antagonist for your future plots. Breeding is possible - and again, would be along the lines of a further step in Lumi's icy embrace of your character before things are too late. Lifemating is probably not an option. Because Lumi will continue to try to "improve/purify" the other soquili which would likely eventually be fatal. Type of Soquili I am looking for: Preferably stallions. Preferably a Soquili with a darker side that they are trying to escape from. This would be great for a reluctant Kalona, or a soquili with Kalona blood that they are ashamed of. If you're interested in trying to eventually plot out a breeding (which I am up for if you don't mind being a little patient) , I will be a little picky with complimentary aesthetics <3. But I would want to do multiple RP sessions to play out the slow corruption/ensnaring process first <3. To Apply:

Personality: Despite the fact that Grimoire is fully fluttercorn like her mother, her full kalona father has had an influence on her (even if it is not visable). Even though her mother, arcana, was raised amongst souqili with darker natures, her benign and sweet fluttercorn nature was never exactly suppressed. Grimoire, on the other hand, has a personality that is much more suited to her herd. While she is fully capable of acting sweet and contrite as her appearance would suggest to an unknowing soquili, something's rotten inside. When others' backs are turned, she can be quite cruel for no other reason than because she enjoys it. She enjoys the game of deception and betrayal; luring others into a false sense of security.
Going hand in hand with her personality, and thanks to her mixed heritage, Grimoire has a little bit of the size-changing ability of a flutter, but altered. Her father, Dyson, is a massive, draft-horse-sized kalona, and she has those genes. That is her normal "Big" size (standing around 18.5 hands high). However, she usually masquerades in her "small" size - which is only about 12 hands high, slender and dainty. She can't assume a 'tiny' flutter form.
History: Grimoire is the foal of Arcana and Dyson Graves. Arcana has long since been the "black" sheep in her family group led by Anju. None in her family knew that she was really switched as a basket with Anju's real son, who was raised by Arcana's parents Kamiki & Azure and named Sumi-e. Arcana always stuck out - being far daintier and friendly of nature than the twisted soquili Anju and his real son, Taraxippus. She tried her best to be like he wanted her to be, but always fell short. When Taraxippus AND her adopted sister, Megaera both had foals of their own, and even more respect from their father - and the final blow - one of Megaera's daughters (Psyche) Anju even called an "improved Arcana" - she fled the herd in tears - and into the massive Kalona, Dyson. She poured her heart out to the manipulative Kalona, who convinced her that a way to earn her father's respect would be to have baskets of her own, and what better than by someone like him. Dyson didn't think that a kalona of such pure blood as he could even conceive with a fluttercorn like Arcana - and just saw Arcana as an opportunity for a good time. He never knew that she would wind up getting exactly what she asked for - in the form of Grimoire and her two siblings.

Friends: Single. It would take a suitably dark soquili to actually woo Grimoire, however. Despite looking like a fluttercorn, Grimoire's personality is more in line with her Kalona heritage. She has a wide sadistic streak that would be hard to get around, even with another dark soquili. The only soquili that she does not see as potential victims currently are her IMMEDIATE family: mother and siblings. Even her uncle and niece she has had bad run-ins with. Plot Ideas: Grimoire has thus far mostly stayed within her herd group. However, Taraxippus, her uncle, has seen through her charade of a sweet little innocent fluttercorn when she nearly squashed his daughter when she was still in the basket. He does not trust her at all, and thinks that she is a loose cannon. He might very well shoo her away from the herdgrounds temporarily which can lead to encounters with other soquili. Or, she might just go wandering for her own sake. Her brother, Diogenes, is not interested in her game of deceptions - he's more blunt and direct. Her sister, Lycenadae, is just kind of off and difficult to hold a conversation with, so she's eager to "meet" others. Her mother has now left the herdgrounds after finding her real family, but her mother never had control of Grimoire to begin with. She had mostly duped her mother to thinking she was sweet, but even she got an uneasy feeling around her own daughter sometimes, and she had no disciplinary control over her (or her siblings), which had further isolated Arcana from her original home. She usually goes around in her smallER form - unlike most flutters, she does not have a tiny form, and then a small-horse form. She has a small-horse form and then a draft-horse sized form (a size akin to her father, the kalona, Dyson Graves - though not quite THAT massive). She loves to pretend to be a sweet and innocent fluttercorn until the right moment to switch sizes and strike. Types of Soquili I am looking for:
Victims - Soquili that will fall for her lure of the sweet and innocent fluttercorn. Maybe an injured soquili that she offers to "help" with her "healing magic" (of which she has none). Maybe just a friendly soquili that you would like to have some of their naiveties broken. I'd look for a soquili that you wouldn't mind having hurt. Obviously, we'll work out how far you are comfortable with the injuries going. I'm flexible.
Other Dark Soquili - Thus far, Grimoire has had little exposure to other dark soquili that she might actually work with. She might be very up for a more elaborate ensnarement acting as bait for bigger "games."
I might be up to discussing mating with Grimoire, but it might be a while. I play her as still being a young-adult mare, still a loose cannon without hardly any discipline, and she would NOT be very motherly AT ALL.

Xibalba (pron. She-BALL-buh) is the Mayan underworld. Given Quetzalcoatl is an Angeni 'cosplay' of an Aztec/Mayan god, and Brigitte is the Vodoun Loa of death and graveyards, I found this name highly appropriate <3

Personality: Unlike Brigitte's first batch of foals who, despite their... eccentries, seem to be sane for the most part (especially when together), Xibalba is a little past the point of being simply eccentric. Being raised by Anju's herd surely hasn't helped him much, either. He's not dull. Quite the opposite, Xibalba is quite clever - but it's a dark, mad kind of clever. He tends to wander - seeking out locations that most sane soquili shy away from. He collects strange things, from the dangerous or vile like stinging bugs or unpalatable plants, or long-dead animals, to the valuable - trinkets, jewelery, and objects of intrinsic value.
Of all the soquili in Anju's herd, he is closest to Psyche - who has taken a forefront in raising him. She's fascinated with him and their common family member, Brigitte, and she's nurtured his odd fascinations.
A strange sort of colorful, miasmic energy swirls around his front hooves, and occasionally snorted from his nostrils or emitted like a hot breath. He claims it to be a sort of spiritual or soul-force passed on from the parentage that he has only heard of in whispers.
Unlike his half-siblings, Xibalba has no fear of his mother or her madness...
History: Xibalba is the foal of Quetzalcoatl and Brigitte. Unfortunately, while Brigitte was gifted with temporary clarity (at least as cognizant as she can get) in the presence of the Angeni Quetzalcoatl, after their time together, Brigitte descended back into her perpetual madness. She found the grave site that she habituates again out of her instinct, and settled back there. Fortunately, it was not long after she had her foals that Sabin and the herd near by rescued them from Brigitte - who in her madness was in no way prepared to raise foals. Xibalba is being raised in with Anju's herd, like his half-sisters Megaera and Alecto. Psyche, of all soquili, seems to have taken him under her wing. She seems to understand his strange fascinations more than most, and has nurtured his oddness.

His mother, Brigitte was not exactly sane enough for the role, and Psyche has acted more like a big sister than a mother. I'm not really looking to mate him any time soon unless you have a really good plot/idea/mate. Plot: I'm really quite open with Xibalba. I want to RP out him visiting his mother at some point, though that might be a solo RP... Xibalba tends to wander and explore to find trinkets and interesting things - maybe he could encounter someone somewhere. Do you have a plot idea? Personality: Megaera has grown close to her new, adoptive family, but has been sure to keep close ties to her two real sisters Alecto and Tisiphone. Megaera alone is a fiery, formidable filly. But together, they are a force to be reckoned with.
Never get on Megaera's bad side. She carries a grudge for a very, very long time, seeting with spite and hatred until vengeance has been met. And ultimately, never, ever break a promise to her. That is the fastest way to her bad side. As twisted as Megaera is, she holds vows to be sacred, written in stone. Perhaps as an influence from her mother - while Megaera's morals might be... skewed... she is unbudging in her view of one particular thing being sacred.
Megaera isn't all bile and bite, however. When approached respectfully and in a friendly manner, she isn't prone to attack unprovoked. She is suspicious of soquili from outside her herd group, however. She is also not the brightest soquili - while not stupid she is simpler and blunt. She doesn't care for elaborate wordplay and can grow confused or frustrated (or just flustered) with a more verbose soquili. Her sister Alecto is the brains of the trio, and she tends to let her do the heavy thinking. Tisiphone has a lot of common sense/wisdom despite her freaky appearence; Megaera is passionate. She is also the only one of the trio actually capable of flight. She trusts her adopted brother Taraxippus immensely, and he is the closest soquili to her aside from her sisters and daughter, Psyche.
History: Megaera is the foal of Brigitte and Ramoth. When Brigitte became unexpectedly pregnant after her encounter with Ramoth, she, in her addled mind, didn't exactly comprehend what had happened. Sabin had been keeping an eye on the strange mare, even if she didn't exactly permit him to get very close. However, when he noticed her pregnant belly, he did the job of procuring baskets from Kamiki and collected the newborn foals (with the help of Taraxippus distracting Brigitte) when they were born.
Megaera's sister, Tisiphone, was given to Kamiki while in the basket - as Sabin didn't have the means to take care of THREE new foals whil still watching Arcana and Taraxippus and the little usdia Gavin.
Since she emerged, Megaera has been welcomed into the strange herd with open 'arms' by Anju, and Taraxippus has made no secret that he has high hopes for his new little sister in comparison to Arcana.
Megaera's opinion of Stallions from outside her herd is one of mistrust and skepticism. One time when she left her herdgrounds she met a flutter that had a way with words and talked sweetly to her - which she was unused to and made her feel oddly good. However, when he left her with foal, she was furious at how he had taken advantage of her, and she excercized her anger on him. However, later, when she bore the foals, a maternal side awakened in Megaera. Psyche is her pride and joy, and truly makes her happy. Even now that Psyche is grown, Megaera has softened a little bit.

Friends: : Single. She mated once with Azure when she was a young mare and was left with a bad impression of strange stallions. However, when her foals came, a maternal side of Megaera awoke. Psyche is now grown, but still on good terms with her mother. Her other two foals live in a different herd. She'll be suspicious about strange stallions. I wouldn't be opposed to one cracking her fiery exterior, but it will have to be more than just sweet words - that's what got her last time, and she regretted it (and so did he later...) If she is to mate again, it will have to be someone who actually understands her and she comes to trust genuinely. She isn't a mare to be taken advantage of physically as she is quite capable in combat, and sweet words alone will not likely work twice. Megaera isn't evil, but she does certainly have a temper, and is not afraid to use force if she gets angry. Plot: I'm fairly open smile Type of Soquili I am looking for: See above. From the Teepee  Name: Anju Colorist: Chibizoo Obtained: Custom Breed: Anju Sex: Male Familiar: none Personality: Generally, Anju is Hateful and Malicious and rarely seen in the company of other Soquili unless it is terrorizing them in some fashion. Anju is almost never seen during the day, unless it is severely overcast, and almost seems to be made out of the very darkness that he often accompanies. Anju rarely speaks, and when he does it is in a chilling whisper. However, Anju is clever, and can certainly utilize psychological tormenting just as easily as physical. He seems to delight in tormenting soquili and humans alike. He can frequently be found in the vicinity of Sabin's teepee after dark. If cornered, Anju is vicious and seemingly without any reservations about using force. However, there are odd exceptions to this behavior. Sometimes, Anju will lurk in the shadows and observe with shining eyes, or even, very rarely, exhibits a conscience. Since becoming a father, Anju has a strange relationship with his growing "herd" (though he would despise calling it that - thinking that the sentiments of needing to be around other soquili is a weakness) - and yet, he has an undenyable pride in (some) of his offspring. He considers Arcana a disappointment - and has no reservations of letting her know this, finding even the foals that were brought to his herd when Brigitte was unable to care for her own to be more worthy than who he thinks is his genetic child. Taraxippus is his pride and joy - his own "blood" and who truly carries on Anju's unique nature. However, Anju will frequently take leaves of absence from the herd, not feeling comfortable being tied down or truly a part of such a group - needing to indulge in his fearsome nature. History: No one knows where Anju came from, or even really what kind of Soquili he is. He began showing up not too long after Sabin set up residence. Roleplay Color: Italicized BlackMate: Anju has now sucessfully bred with Amaterasu. However, this was NOT exactly a "romantic" affair by any means. They are not "mates", but they have mated. Parents + BasketsChildren: Genetic Children: Sumi-e: Basket ImageTaraxippus: Basket ImageArcadia: Basket ImageOther "Children"Arcana: Due to a mix-up with Anju's acquisition of two of the three baskets that he produced with Amaterasu, this foal he has been raising, thinking it his own (but with obvious suspicions otherwise): Basket ImageAnju also has raised Megaera and Alecto - though he knows that they are not his own. Herd: His. Friends: None Anju is the alpha of his "herd" - although he is reticent to think of it like that. He is very divided temperment-wise, and can go to extremes of sadism and manipulativeness, but sometimes - rarely - he shows a conscience. He despises that aspect of himself, and will sometimes try to overcompensate to bury it. He does NOT like dealing with 'weak' emotions and is trying to deny their presence in himself. Having a family both brings about a pride in him, as well as a self-loathing that he finds pleasure in the company of others that does not involve causing harm or fear. Anju is intrigued with the concept of passing along his genetics, however. Something about the Kawani lands seems to make breeding with the soquili who seem so different than the shadowy creature possible. He is a corrupter, and delights in control and putting others in situations where they lose theirs. Ultimately, Anju is a monster, that has a tiny fleck of "humanity" that he loathes to accept and fights against it getting a footing in his soul. He seems to live to cause and spread fear and appears to derive actual pleasure from accomplishing it. He will attempt to discover the precise buttons that push a soquili and get under their skin. He enjoys this process just as much if not more as causing physical harm (which he also certainly enjoys). Plot: Anju frequently strays away from his herdlands to be alone and indulge his dark whims. He has no desire to form any kind of "alliances" - seeing himself as a solitary predator and not akin to any of the soquili in these lands. He would have little interest in grand schemes of Kalona or other evil soquili, preferring the close and personal "dirty work". If he can't derive fear from another soquili, he generally sees little point in associating with them. He's far from stupid, however - and is not above scheming, it's just generally on a more personal level. Anju does also occasionally have what he refers to as "Projects". These would be other individuals who seem to be a particularly good source of fear and whose buttons are fun to push. Also, soquili who are anxious about Anju's specialty - which is making others feel a loss of control. He would start subtly, and keep on pushing their buttons for the eventual goal of driving them mad. Want a soquili pushed to evil? Anju might very well be a good candidate to push them. He delights seeing the corrupting affect he has on others. He also currently is interacting with a long-lost grandchild, Atalanta, seeing just how much of his dark blood passed along through the generations. He is interested in how much of his nature passes along when the other soquili involved in the parentage (His initial mate, and that child's mate were both "normal, good soquili'). So he's currently doing things, but I wouldn't mind possibly multitasking if you have a good idea. This also makes him lower priority for me to plot with, as he has other things going on at the moment. I have a few ideas, also, of potential breeding with him in the future, but I might have one breeding open with him in the distant future if you have a particularly good idea. I WILL be VERY picky, however, and it might have to be a while. Personality: Taraxippus is very much his father's son: bright of mind and dark of heart. Anju is quite proud of this offspring, achieving what he had hoped to do with his union with Amaterasu. Taraxippus, while loyal to his father, is calculating and sinister and his upbringing has only encouraged such behavior. However, he IS a unicorn, and his mother IS Amaterasu, and as much as Anju would like to pretend it isn't so - there is a heart in there somewhere concealed in his shadows.
Taraxippus has dreams of grandeur, and ultimately isn't above doing what he deems necessary to achieve such goals. He will lie, promise the world, to get what he wants, and cares little for the ultimate misfortunes his actions might have against others. He is relatively detached and unempathetic, seeing those around him as more like pieces in a game than living beings with emotions. Taraxippus is not excessively cruel - as he knows that that can cause more problems than it solves. However, if cruelty is executed properly and in moderation...
He looks down on his "sister", Arcana, and she is the subject of much of his early plotting and manipulation.
Ultimately, Taraxippus wants to be both respected AND feared, more than just the pure terror that Anju seems to crave, irregardless of how others perceive him.
History: Taraxippus is the foal of Anju and Amaterasu. Anju mated with Amaterasu partially as an experiment, and partially due to being taken with the (alien to Anju) notion of procreating - raising offspring of his own. Anju was able to shadow Amaterasu until she foaled and make away with two of the three baskets. This foal is his. The other basket was damaged, and in transferring the foal to an undamaged basket there was a mixup and Arcana is the result of that.

Friends: : Taraxippus has mated with Izusa, and is on good terms with her. However, I do not necessarily see him being 100% exclusive with her. If he sees a mating with another mare, whom he desires as an ally, as a chance to exert his influence over her through mutual children, then it's a possibility. I will be VERY pick about this, however, and I want to talk to Sayuri/Kamiki about his status with Izusa first. ((However, I know she has one breeding left, where Tara has two, so regardless, he ought to at least have one option for another mate, but I want to figure out how that will work out plotwise with Izusa)). He does NOT want to lose her as an ally, but further cultivate his influences. Taraxippus would not see breeding as "Romantic", but more of a strategic endeavor - to secure ties and affiliations with the mare in question and produce strong offspring that will also be loyal to him. Taraxippus is ruled by his reason, not his emotions. He's not devoid of passion when it comes to interactions with a mate, but his choices and selections are all meticulously made. Taraxippus is currently raising his daughter, Seance, in his own image and values - and she is an apt pupil. Plot: Taraxippus has dreams of grandeur and wishes to spread his influence beyond just the few soquili he's met so far. He's always been obsessed with being feared and respected, cultivating his contacts and allies, and he needs a direction. I would love for him to try to spread his influence over a larger group of soquili. Essentially, Taraxippus has the mentality, intelligence, and the drive to be a virtual warlord, but I need a venue for him to express that in. Types of Soquili I am Looking for: Groups of soquili. I would love for Taraxippus to work alongside an established herd to slip in his influence, perhaps assist them with a conflict with an opposing group? He wants to curry favors and establish himself as a leader. Taraxippus is not a nice soquili, and can be cruel and can enjoy the hunt and the feeling of power of another life - but is perfectly capable of restraint and using force when it is the most strategically necessary. Taraxippus wants power and respect - but does not have any specific goals of what to do with that power or respect at the moment. So if a group of soquili have a goal they are trying to achieve and need a dark horse ally, Taraxippus might be a good player. Alternatively, I can start to build his network of allies one by one, but it might be difficult to organize big multi-player RPs, or find a direction for them? Personality: Even as a foal, Casanova was gregarious and not at all shy around fillies. He loved being at the center of attention and plying at the heartstrings of other soquili - even if it is for more of an "aww" reaction than anything else at that point.
He has a lot of his father's ego and knows precisely how cute he is. Casanova is inquisitive and bright and has a fondness for poetry and other fine things. He likes having a lot of friends - both people to learn from as well as those that enjoy being shown a good time.
As an adult, Casanova has grown all the smoother and more experienced with age. His interest in mares has matured and he lives for the game of seduction. He prides himself in his skill with words and subtle gestures. He takes a great deal after his father, but is more willing to get emotionally invested in mares... just lo be it for him to get attached to just ONE mare. He knows how to make mares feel beautiful and special. He loves mares, in the true sense of the word - and sees no reason why it needs to be exclusive. Love makes one immortal and live on in the memory of others. However, he doesn't just use mares, he does respect them and thinks that they are perfectly able to be the equal of a stallion - all the more reason he loves their company. He sees an elusive mare who is not interested in him as a personal challenge. A mare that is hard to get captures his attention, and is likely to leave him dwelling.

Personality: Yorick was left scarred - both physically and emotionally by the incident (see his history below). Where he was once an extroverted, playful and even clownish young stallion, he's now skittish and standoffish. The scars on his face are an ever-present bitter reminder of his guilt. He would not wish for them to heal even if he had the choice - he bears them like a brand of his mistakes, and it is the least price that he could pay for the dear cost that came to those he cared most for. They ensure that he will never forget the hard lessons he learned when he received them. He's scared to get emotionally close to other soquili - afraid to trust them or risk unwittingly causing more harm himself. He no longer jokes or pranks, or even cracks a smile. More than just "emo", Yorick is broken. He is an emotional wreck, but long past the point of tears, and a shade of his former self. He views life as transient and cruel, death and deception hiding behind every corner waiting to snatch the unwary.
History: Yorick used to be a jovial, playful soquili. He was a part of a thriving herd in the Kawani lands. He was born during the bounty of the spring, and for most of his young life he knew little hardship. He grew up a well-adjusted foal with a lot of friends, and was known as the clown of the herd. He had a well developed sense of humor, and he enjoyed playing harmless pranks on his herdmates. He even bonded with a familiar - and the two of them often worked together to cause mirth. As he grew, there was one filly in particular that he got on very well with. They were good friends, and he had it in his mind to compete with a few other spring stallions for her affections.
One day, when Yorick was out exploring the woods, devising ideas to woo his lady fair (or think up a fun trick or two to play on his friendly rivals), he chanced upon a shimmering silver fox that seemed to be horribly caught in a hunter's snare. Even more amazing was that the fox seemed to posses multiple tails, and wore a stunning flower hairpiece behind an ear. She called to him, thankful to be rescued by a strapping young stallion. She promised him that if he were to free her, that she would give him a gift - the flower hairpiece. Thinking of the young mare, he gladly set her free, and she kept her promise - giving him the beautiful, delicate hairpiece.
What Yorick did not know was that this was no ordinary silver fox but the skinwalker Kumiho. She had been eyeing his idyllic herd, bemused by how simple they had it, not plagued by predator or harsh season, and saw it as an invitation to make things a little less easy on them. Her target was easily chosen - a brash soquili on the cusp of stallionhood who had a taste for pranks - although they had nothing on her schemes. What delighful malice she could wreak...
She laced her hairpin thick with corpse powder. Then, disguised in fox-form, she snared herself in a trap when she saw him coming and played to his sympathies. When she gave him her trojan "gift", she knew precisely what he was going to do with it, and she hung back to watch the fireworks.
As Kumiho predicted, Yorick made quite the show of bestowing his gift on the young mare, to the envy of many of the other young stallions. But, when the hairpin was secured into place and scratched her scalp, the corpse powder entered her blood and began to work its vile magic. Over the course of but a few hours, what started out as a romantic stroll under the moonlight turned into a tragedy that would leave Yorick scarred.
He felt he had finally won, and with his lady by his side, and his familiar romping alongside he began to woo his lady. However, her actions began to be strange - she seemed feverish and faint, and then her movements jerky - erratic. She began to work up a froth as a deep madness seemed to come over her. Yorick couldn't believe his eyes - he didn't understand what was happening. In concern, he tried to go to her, only to have her let loose a blood-curdling shriek as she bit down on the back of his familiar with a sickening crunch. He was frozen in horror as he watched her tear his friend apart before his eyes and then toss its still bloody skin over her back. By the time he realized what was happening, she had turned on him, eyes bloodshot and her visage a horrible amalgamation of two of his closest friends. She lashed out at him, sharpened teeth latching onto his face. Finally shocked into movement, Yorick lashed out with his powerful hooves. The still newborn skinwalker, still weak from her first transformation was thrown back, allowing the panicked stallion to escape. He didn't know where he was going or for how long he ran, but when he eventually collapsed from physical and raw emotional exhaustion, he was far from home. He couldn't go back - he blamed himself for what happened. Guilt wracked him, anger at his naivete, fear that he might go back to find more that he loved victim to the silver fox or the new skinwalker... Yorick has never been the same since - having seen death strike swiftly to those he held dear, and the cruelties of the world.

I'm a little reticent about playing him RIGHT now until I figure out what I want to do about his ex-lover and perhaps customing her or having a good friend custom her. Plot: Not sure right yet. I don't want to "fix" Yorick yet, but I haven't cemented much else yet. He's depressing, and currently has a very morbid, broken outlook on life. He can bring down an optimistic Soquili. He's taken a beating from life, and is not ready to trust any one yet. Maybe, at some point in the future there may be a happy ending for him, but I really would want that to be far off in the future, and likely not until after he is able to confront either Kumiho and/or his ex-love. I'd also be open if someone wanted to integrate one of their soquili into Yorick's background - maybe being from the same herd as his and who would remember one of the young mares being turned skinwalker? Personality: Tanuki is a gregarous, jovial soquili. He is laid back, friendly, and while he's a little rough around the edges, he means well. Tanuki is a lot like the Goshi (countray samurai) - laid back, fond of sake, a little crass in his speach, but with a noble code of honor and family history. He is very in touch with the land and other more common (less dignified in the eyes of some other noble soquili) knowledges like agriculture and woodsmanship. Tanuki can be a bit of a trickster, but not at all like Kumiho. His pranks are to teach or otherwise benign or amusing. He thinks that many soquili take themselves too seriously and need to learn to lighten up and laugh at life and themselves.
Tanuki is also bit of a hedonist - fond of good food, good alcohol, and can be a bit of a womanizer - but never with any kind of harmful intent. He's charming in the same way an old man is (though he's not THAT old) - laid back, not caring what other people think about him, not judgmental unless it comes to serious issues (such as others that mean harm to another).
History: Tanuki arrived in these lands at the same time Ryujin and a few other of his Japanese bretheren did. He was interested to see these new lands and see what he could both learn and teach. After all, it was sad to think of a land that had not yet benefited from a "Tanuki's luck and wisdom".
