Name Meaning The name Ciarán has its origins in Irish, meaning quite literally, 'small black one'.
Gender Male
Species Horse, specifically Arabian. Arabians have a reputation for intelligence, spirit, and stamina. They were originally bred in desert climates by the nomadic Bedouins, who prized these horses above all other possessions. Due to this close relationship with humans, the Arabian developed a willingness to please which, paired with high spirit and extreme sensitivity, requires respect and competence in handlers. Negative aspects can include a tendency toward nervousness and excessive anxiety.
Keyword Saturnine: cold and slow to react; depressed.
Personality Circumspect and somewhat quiet, Ciaran tends to be still instead of speaking when he can get away with it, for all that he has a keen eye and a tendency toward a heightened sense of awareness, as if he is trading talkativeness for observancy.

Name Meaning Short for Kitsune.
Gender Female?
Species Kitsune. A tricky, cheerful, mischievous creature with a penchant for fun and games.
Keyword Not a Hyte, silly~
Personality Cheerful, bright-eyed, and affectionate, Kitsu sort of fails when it comes to anything more serious than a practical joke. She also tends to hoard bright and shiny things, much to Ciaran's dismay.
Appearance: Short, freckled, and blue-eyed with a braid down to here... the rest is subject to change without notice.

Maxwell | Julien | Quincy
Maxwell was one of the very first Hytes that Ciaran met when he popped out of his tube... and the jaguar man thoroughly indoctrinated him with a little bit of hero-worship. Still, instinctively, he's slightly afraid of him sheerly on the principle that he's definitely a predator...
Julien helped Ciaran get dry after a bath one day, and talked with him. Ciaran likes the gentle rabbit; he wasn't the least bit afraid of him.
Ciaran has met Quincy briefly. The fish-woman got him curious about swimming, and taught him to like watermelon!

Colton is a friend of Ciaran's; he has adopted the friendly pup as a sort of pseudo-father-figure.
Philomena is another dear friend of Ciaran's -- he calls her 'Na, and she has been the sharer of couch-cuddles since his babyhood.

Isoke is, in Ciaran's estimation, friendly -- he likes the springbok very much. He introduced him to apricots, and helped him when he was having a moment of insecurity.
The very first Hyte Ciaran met was Gyasi. The giraffe was the one to teach him how to navigate on his unsteady legs, and Ciaran counts him as a dear friend.
Lilith struck Ciaran as very beautiful, but also strangely intimidating. He met her one afternoon when she was upset, and his knightly tendencies kicked in...

Xin Yue is one of Ciaran's friends -- the sweet rat-woman brings out the knight's protective instincts as well.
Lance is Ciaran's beloved brother -- a bright idol that the dark knight feels he will never equal. His inferiority complex would not likely permit him to accept anything other than brotherly solidarity and eternal friendship.
Boy George bewilders and puzzles Ciaran -- though he's pretty sure that George likes him. [Duh.]
Melisande, not pictured here yet, is yet another little maiden-to-be that Ciaran feels it is his duty to protect.
Generation 2008
Zane is Ciaran's... significant other?! Having watched the kuppy grow up, Ciaran has found himself utterly in love with him now that they are adults.
Eli makes Ciaran confused! He doesn't quite know how to act around the sparkly, magical kuppy.
Noelani was put in Ciaran's charge when she was still a tube; he feels he is somehow responsible for protecting her. She scares him silly most of the time, though -- and is more than capable of protecting herself.
Ekene is another of his friends. The friendly spiraffe boy has comforted him more than once in a moment or two of distress.
Amara is Ciaran's 'damsel'! He adores her; she is one of the three people in his life he absolutely cannot live without.
