Name : Selena Richards
Gender : Female
Age : 14
Year : 4th year
House : Gryffindor
Ethnicity : British
Hair/Eye Color : Red Hair with Brown Highlights, Hazel Eyes
Pet : A white cat with brown and black paws named Darlita. The year before Selena started at Hogwarts, her parents took her and Damian to buy owls. Damian immediately found an owl for himself, but Selena couldn't decide because she really didn't like owls very much. She knew they were useful, but she still didn't care for one. After browsing around the cages, Selena came upon Darlita's cage and had to beg her parents to buy her the kitten. Her parents were reluctant at first, but eventually relented and told her to use Damian's owl for messages.
Home Life : Selena comes from a long-line of wizards. Her family is wealthy and have a reasonable amount of power, but they are very generous and caring. She has one other sibling, an older brother named Damian. Her family lives in the heart of London, in a large victorian-era house. Her father holds various tidings to both the magical and the muggle realm. This is helpful as it keeps suspicion off their family for being wizards. Her parents often hold lavish parties for alternating parties and it makes it easier for her to blend in with muggles. When she is home for breaks, she often goes to hang out with some of her muggle neighbors.
Diving deeper : Selena is a bit introverted. She has trouble expressing herself sometimes. Her brother tries to get her to be more outgoing, but it usually ends in frustration. Selena likes to write poetry and draw pictures. She is a good student, but finds it hard to compete against her brother and his perfection. She enjoys watching quidditch, but isn't very good at it. She loves her brother, but is constantly annoyed with his prying into her business. He has tried to read her diary on more than one occasion, but can't because Selena uses special ink that can only be seen by the person who wrote the words. Selena's biggest fault is that she gets her feelings hurt easily. Damian tries to protect her from this, but even he can't shield her from everything.
Taking a closer look : Selena sat in the girl's bathroom, crying. The Slytherins always made fun of her and she didn't know why. She had never done anything to them, but they always wanted to tease her. She didn't like it at all. She wished that she could be more like Damian: he would have just hexed those girls and they wouldn't have dared to make fun again. This made her wonder why the Sorting Hat had placed her in Gryffindor. She took a tissue out of her bag and used it to wipe her tears. She usually was pretty good about holding in her tears so that others wouldn't see, but once she got to a secluded place, the waterworks went full blast. After a few more wipes, the tissue became completely damp, but her face was no longer wet. She threw the tissue into a trashcan, picked up her bag, and left the bathroom, heading to her next class.
