all of a sudden everyone is changing their username. well, if you are going to do it great- but let your friends know because now I have at least 20 people on my 3 pages of friends that I have no idea who they are and are about tobe bounced!

Never really felt the need to change mine, lol. Too many people know me as Mem. xd I've had that issue before though... I see a completely new name on my list and have no clue who it is. sweatdrop

I've not changed mine since I got here.

It does bug me too, why can't people choose a name and stick with it?

I know, right? I mean, the only time I've ever changed my nick is when my email address starts getting too much spam mail. >.< When I was on IRC I used StarDragonsong, but everyone kept mistaking me for a guy. When I started Gaia I had started moving away from that name and tried coming up with something slightly different... Though, technically they both come from the same source. Both names come from one of my first characters. sweatdrop

Mine comes from my first real fandom.
I'm moving away from it to Silverblacktears (Which my mule is named here) over time but well ... don't intend to change it here.

My name used to be a very crappy name so I had to change it. Maybe that's why people change it. Maybe they think it's not as good as a different name so they change it.

Especially when you haven't spoken to the person in a very long time. I have at least three people on my list who've done that and I can't remember who they are! gonk

My old username had brackets and hypens though, and always messed up different coding/lists/things.

Hate it when that happens. Though I have changed my username before, it was only once and I let all my friends know (I think I only had 3 at the moment XD).
I suppose now no one would bother with it if they had over 30 friends because Gaia got rid of the "FriendsAtGaia" thing a long time ago and they'd have to send many PMs to many people. Buuuut, that's just my thought. rolleyes
