Ok, so I've tried to stick by Gaia with their sponsors. They haven't been TOO bad and really? It gives Gaia money in order to get OUT of debt. But I'm sorry, High School Musical is much too far. I cannot STAND that movie, if it can even be called that. UGH. WHY? And it's not quite HSM, but it does have to do with the movies.
Anyway... Your thoughts?

There have not been many sponsors that have made my skin crawl. MTV did, as well as that one movie about the girl in the playboy bunny outfit. However, I didn't hold a grudge. I let it go after awhile. However, this.... This is utterly... disgraceful. I don't think that even that word quite underlines my emotions right now. I would have taken bloody Hannah Montana before this crap. Children are brainwashed with this stuff enough as it is, without Gaia calling it out as a sponsor. It sickens me. It is horribly wrong and I feel almost angry enough to find Craig Sherman and yell at him until a restraining order is placed. I don't live that far from him, I might just do it. This crossed a line. And that line is something that should have never been touched in the first place. I am so disappointed right now.... I am completely upset by this whole deal.

You know, I think my country's at fault for this sweatdrop After HSM 2, one of our cable companies got together with one of the Disney franchises and made a reality show called HSM: The Selection, which was pretty much like a version of American Idol with teenagers, and the winners got to interprete the lead characters of the Latin American version of HSM, HSM: The Challenge. I believe they made three versions of the reality show, one for Argentina, other for Mexico and the last for Brazil. The movie should be released on these days. [x]
It's not something I'm particulary proud of... x_x I hate reality shows by definition, and even more if one of the host is Marcelo Tinelli, a guy that prostitutes television for a living.
Anyway, what they did here sounds exactly the same ABC's gonna do, only the prize is a very different thing.
Oh, and I think the other movie, the one with the bunnygirl, is way worse than this show. I'm surprised to see everybody react so strongly against it - though the songs do get mind numbling after having your cousin play their CDs 24/7 burning_eyes

I'd call the MTV sponsorship worse than HSM, though. I mean with HSM you go see a trailer, get a microphone, and soon enough they'll be out the door and some new movie will get promoted. Same happened with You Don't Mess With the Zohan, Kung-Fu Panda, etc. High School Musical will disappear.
MTV, however, has a friggin' shop set up in the marketplace that has practically nothing worth buying at prices that are ridiculous. At least you got the HSM microphone for free.

High School Musical is the Grease for kids born in the new millenium, in a nutshell. However, it is extremely overdone. Then again, so was Grease.

Every time I see this topic in the forum I forget what its about and try to pronounce HSM. Which comes out something like Hitchism in my mind, regardless of the extra syllable I threw in. xd

I have got to the point that I never actually watch the preview, I just get the item and leave.
All I know is that a lot of the younger youth, at least at the places I have lived/visited. So gaia is taking the time to appeal to the younger members of the site.
I don't think that the third movie should be in the theatres, it will probably be as bad as the other two... you would just have to pay for this one. Really, you can't stick it in the theatres when all the others were on tv. All companies are money grubbers o-o
