If you mate a Shiny pokemon with a normal pokemon, will the egg have a 50% chance of being a shiny baby?

I believe only in GSC, since I remember coming across someone on LiveJournal remarking about how they had caught a shiny Ditto in Gold and ended up with armies of shinies.

But in RSE and DPP, the chance for a shiny remains the same 1/8000ish odds no matter the method of encounter (wild, breeding, etc), even if another shiny is involved.

So basically genetics mean nothing to the new pokemon games. xp Not that I like most shinies (orange poochyena anyone?) but it would still be nice to have the option.
And are those really the odds? eek No wonder the only shiny I ever encountered was a bloody tentacool.

Hey, I *like* the GOLD poochyena. I squealed and went on high alert when I ran into her on Emerald. Now I wish I could train her to be as strong as possible/with the same TM/Moves as some of my other Mightyena.

Do you tink they'll ever go ultra-retro with the Pokemon games and you can import the GB(C) Pokemon? 'Cause I really miss my Crystal team and playing them.

Purple-ish Marill? What game, because that makes no sense if its Diamond/Pearl. I HAVE a shiny Marill and its green.

I got a blue ponyta in Diamond once, but I traded it for....something else...
But it doesn't matter, since I ended up losing my Diamond game anyway. cry
