There are plenty of morons playing WoW out there, and I bet we all had to deal with them in some way...
I am playing a Shadow Priest right now, and of course I'm getting asked to heal alot, but not all people accept an answer like "I'm shadow" or "I can't heal you".
Had a rogue a few weeks ago, he first spammed me with the same lame "wanna heal BRD?", 'cus I was busy not being killed, I could not answer. Then when I told him I was shadow, he was all like "omg, all priests should be holy!", and gone for... He only wanted me to heal him 'cus he was getting a boost by some lvl 70 who could not handle BRD alone, so I would not get any exp nor loot, as I was too high lvl anyway -_-
This morning, some paladin asked me to heal SH, and I asked him if he wanted me to heal with Mind Flay, telling him in an annoyed way that I was shadow. But he kept whispering me, that he needed a healer, so I asked him why he could not play the healer, since he was a paladin. He only said "I'm prot", and I told him I heal just as good as him then, which made him write to me, that I should shut up o_O
Later today, when I just dinged 70 and went to SW for training and some gems for my Frozen Shadoweave set, some random lvl 25 priest sees me at the AH, and then start telling me, that I should NOT stay shadow when lvl 70, holy or disc would be better for me. I then told her that I already have a lvl 70 holy priest, and my guild needs a shadow priest. Then she kept going with "go holy when pve, or disc when pvp, shadow priests don't do any good dps", and I kept telling her I was there for my guild, who needed the damage boost a shadow priest gives warlocks and mages (ye, we have alot of locks and mages...), and then she just went all silent stare
Reminds me of an episode with my lvl 70 warrior, who is all arms specced 'cus I do alot of PvP with her. Some random mage who was in the same BG as I, started to complain about me wearing a shield when I'm arms, and that I'm just all wrong and a n00b for not using a 2H weapon. I told her about a battle I once had, where I used 1H axe and a shield to defeat an undead with some epic armor and an epic 2H, and she called me a liar and a n00b, actually had to put her on ignore to have her shut her mouth o_O
I'm not that kind of person who writes a post every time she gets mad, sorry for this one, but I'm getting frustrated about other people. The worst is, that I don't know them, and they don't know me, and still they keep attacking me with dumb whispers, calling me a n00b or liar, or just tell me to shut up, 'cus I'm not the specc they expected me to be. We all play different, and we all should learn to respect that. Giving others some good tips is nice, but telling them what to do is just childish and wrong...

Next time someone complains to you like that, basically say "You pay for my monthly subscription, and then you can decide what to do with this character, im the one who puts money into this account so i'll play it how i want to, kthxbye".

Yeah, it's your $15, and shadow priests bring a lot of utility to the raid for the casters and can deal lots of damage. I also understand the heal thing. From about 62-70 I was shadow since apparently my wannabe lolsmite dps was not doing well for leveling, my guild lead paid for me to respec shadow to level (note this was right when BC came out so I was expecting to level more in instances, but my work schedule prevented this). As soon as I respecced, I had people asking me to heal. I did try to heal Durnholde at 66 shadow, and I admit I will never do that again.
I also get asked to heal a lot on my feral druid. But, what really bothers me is when I am looking at LFG to find someone and you see a druid/priest/pally with no note. OMG I needz to know the spec! But it's okay that you need to let it out!

When I was leveling my shadow priest I got all kinds of whispers to heal. A friend dragged me into a ZF group once. It was me, two warlocks, and two mages, all level 40 something. I was like, "Whoa, I'm healing this? Who's tanking this?" They were like, "We don't need a tank. You can just heal us."
Some people just don't know what's going on. You can try to teach them a few things or just say, "You must not know much about raiding..." and ignore them. Be sure to report them for added fun if they swear at you or anything!
Fortunately I found that I get far less stupid whispers at 70. It seems that at 70 even the chumps start to sort of get a feel for what people's roles are thanks to things like Kara.

my god.
Whoever told you you shouldn't be shadow at 70 is a moron. Do you think he whispers every level 70 shadow priest he sees? "O HAI Mr. T6 shadow priest, did you know shaodow isnt a viable spec at level 70 and you should go holy even though you've been shadow with your guild all the way from Karazhan into Sunwell? No? Well its a good thing Im telling you now!"
Dont listen to random idiots, because they're just that. Random idiots.
Also, generally as a rule of thumb I dont give excuses for why I dont want to join random groups. If someone says "want to heal X instance?" Just say no :p

If you don't want to heal don't. Its not that big a deal. If people harass you about it, ignore them. Pretty simple.

People who demand heals in BGs
Now when im PVPing im on my 70 elemental shaman.
Im to busy whooping a** to worry about healing you.
Now the only reason ill heal you is if I can use you as a disraction.
IE a MS warrior fighting a rogue.
Other then that my heals are like 1st aid.
There for me.
But if your nice, and im feeling nice.
Maybe ill use them on you.
I also had a guildmate who was insulted by a player who said she was a dumbass for healing in BGs.
Made me ******** lol so hard.
Triple post.
People also get pissed off that im elemental spec since its seen as a inferior spec.
Enhancement is overplayed and while fun most people assume most shamans are enhancement.
PVP wise its teh same thing.
Allys assume in enhancment so caster classes will get in range away from me which really dosent mean anything.
Come endgame thou im Top 5 in DPS.

If you get people like that do what I do. But it only really works if your on a PvP server. I play on the Horde. All that aside I have a lot a lot a lot of people I know on the alliance and we help each other out.
The last time I did any heroic BS pug some fury warrior kept giving me s**t because I was sub spec and it was weak dps (even tho I was way ahead of him) So when telling him to shut the ******** up didn't work I told him " do me a favor and go outside, you're going to see 5 alliance on armored nether drakes and they want to talk to you" he didn't believe me. We were in Mech and had to summon someone so him and I walked outside. We were both standing at the stone and they tore him apart. In all they camped him for about 15mins before he finally left the group.
I can honestly think of more horde that I would like to camp then the alliance.

I know my guild needs the support of a shadow priest, and that's what I am going to give them now, and nothing less.

I know it can be annoying to hear people ask you to heal, but guess what? Priests were meant to heal, and unless you have ABSOLUTELY terrible gear, you should be able to heal except for 60+ instances and raids.
I have a spriest too, i like to heal even though im shadow to level and i do just fine.

Priests were meant to heal, and unless you have ABSOLUTELY terrible gear, you should be able to heal except for 60+ instances and raids. I have a spriest too, i like to heal even though im shadow to level and i do just fine.
We run for 10 mans:
Group 1:
Warrior Tank
Druid healer
Paladin tank
Enhancement shaman
Rogue
Group 2:
Shaman Healer
Paladin healer
Shadow priest
Mage
Warlock
For 25 mans, we have two Shadow priests, Two holy priests. We don't have much use for Holy priests in Kara, as between me and the Paladin, theres not enough CC to need two, as well, the Raid heals we have are amazing already, along with the Paladin being able to solo me an entire fight. The shadow priest is a gimme, due to the fact no one drops mana. on Prince, with me as DPS, none of our healers dropped under 80% mana, and our Paladin isn't as easy to keep up. no, we aren't stacked 2000 heals each class, I'm probably the best geared in our raids other then our warlock. and Im just in T4 gear and badge upgrades. Just started T5 today.
