It had not been a particularly eventful day, all things told. Far less involved and exciting than Blossomforth would have liked, but she mollified herself with the fact that there had been no disasters. No one had snapped or bitten or kicked though Dia was have one of her Testy Days. Lots of ear pinning and threats but not a single hoofmark on any of them.

There'd been grazing, there'd been dozing, there'd been snippets of conversation here and there, but not enough. No, Blossomforth could talk more than the other three combined, and often did. She'd chased Diego off more than once with her chatter, sadly enough. She didn't mean to do it. She just had a lot to say.

But it was quiet now, out in a field with open sky above her and the first stars twinkling into view. Blossomforth had her nose pointed at the sky and she heaved a sigh, settling in for a little stargazing. She didn't look over when she heard someone else moving nearby. She simply swiveled an ear in that direction and called, "It'll be a pretty night tonight, don't you think?"

The older mare was careful as she passed. The scent of other soquili was thick in the air and Eshara had long felt the rejection that came with those whom thought plainly. The ones that weren't open to change, those that weren't like her and didn't have the sight. . . . Sometimes she wondered what it might be like to not be so different or to discover others like her. . . .

Ah, but such thoughts were fleeting. At her age there was no use worrying about the world; she'd seen it all and understood her place. Rejected from herd to the next, Eshara knew no home and pretended she didn't crave such acceptance. If others couldn't tolerate her for who she was she certainly wasn't going to allow herself to settle.

Tail swishing behind her, Eshara was in a bit of a hurry. The winds spoke of change, of meeting, of chance but exactly where they were guiding her (and for what purpose) she had yet to understand. A few thick rolling clouds had covered up the second reading of the stars, leaving the answer shrouded a mystery . . .

So the fates didn't want her to know who and what she should meet. Nor the outcome for such an adventure.

Pity that - Eshara did enjoy knowing the answers. Ah, but the world was funny one and the middle-aged mare understood she was just as a silly as the rest of them. Let the clouds tease her and keep away the answer; the grey and soot coloured mare would play out its hand one way or another.

A voice broke through, causing the mare to stop in her swift footed trot. Ears pushing forward, she glanced over to catch sight of the source; bright pink hair and a pale coat similar to that of snow. The soft breeze which had guided her fell still and the mare understood quickly that this was the one she was meant to meet.

"A pretty night?" She repeated, canting her head to the side. Glancing up at the sky, the stars slowly and better coming in to view, the mare gave a little chuckle. "I suppose it would be, but isn't every night so lovely?" Night's looked the same, for the most part, but they could feel ever so different. Besides which Eshara read the night skies when clouds didn't hinder her visions and what the stars said was more important than how they looked.

Ah, but those who thought plainly, simply, couldn't quite grasp the information so readily given to them day after day. The world spoke of many a things and yet so many creatures refused to listen. What a pity indeed.

Now she turned her head, since her question had been answered. She'd learned to just accept and let it go if her comments got ignored. She liked it better, of course, when they didn't. So she had a bright smile on when she looked over at Eshara. It stayed in place but her eyes widened a bit. Sure, some of the others she'd seen had pretty patterns or colors or things like that, but this mare sort of kind of took her breath away, and she didn't sparkle or flash or any of that.

Ears pricked forward curiously, she took a couple steps over. "Sure they are, in their own ways," she agreed, voice drawling a bit. "And every one's different, even in the middle of storm season. Just seemed like this one might be nicer than usual, or usual that's come and gone recently. I'm sorry," she added with very little pause, "but I just have to tell you how pretty you are. My goodness."
