From the reception banquet, the participants pass through the Disperse Halo and once again their bodies are dissembled to be no heavier than molecules of air. Each one has prepared arduously for this moment and now has the opportunity to test their strength and skill against a diversity of warriors from all corners of the world. Round One has begun.
The first round’s stage has been set. Standing silent and isolated from all civilization is a coliseum in likeness of Roman architecture. Enclosing the interior are stone stands that wrap around in a full circle for spectators to look down into a pit traditionally designed to force outcastes, slaves, and prisoners into blood-sport. However, unlike the days of old, this ring will be used to honor respected warriors of all trades as they strive to prove their worth to the world. The floor of the pit falls 30 feet from the lowest stand, its boundaries marked off by the giant wall of stone that surrounds it. However, situated nicely inside of this round stadium rises a large platform standing 25 feet high. This large block is fed by two stairways: one on the east and the other on the western edges. Its surface shimmers with a lustrous black color whose sparkle threatens to distract the eyes of the contestants under a bright sun. The stone material is known as Kachine and is recorded to be the densest substance in the known universe. From edge to edge the ring spans 50 feet and is divided into ten rows and columns of five-foot squares with a slightly indented groove running between them.
Onto this stage falls a large ring almost as large as the square ring it descends upon. This large circle of red and black energy drops at a steady pace, revealing what looks like two different sets of hair. As it reaches ever closer to the ring floor, two identifiable beings come into existence, one being son of KenoTao, Kenta Kitsune, and the other recognized as the multi-talented Yo-ko. The warriors stand 20 feet apart, each man ten feet from the center. All around them there appears to be any number of onlookers, but these figures are long since petrified stone mannequins. Their purpose would be made clear to one with magnified vision, who would notice the tiny cameras positioned where a normal person’s eyes would be. Each dummy was constructed accurately in order to for the real spectators to observe from a safe distance.
Silence rests all around the two warriors, the only two people left on Earth it would seem. Only they, their opponent, and the ring exist. The battle is underway.
~Ring Courtesy of Carl Elynwood Before either contestant begins, please prepare an entrance post of your own to indicate you are prepared to start and once again roll a 20 sided die via post action. Whoever rolls the higher number will be responsible for the initial fight post. All warriors are advised to keep count of the number of posts because no post after the specified limit will be considered for the tournament. One method is to include the post number every time your character makes a move. At this moment, all profiles have been pulled and will be forwarded to the judges. If at any point your character does something not clearly specified in your profile, you will be asked to edit the post or be disqualified. Good luck to you, and may the fight begin.

(( will do sir. i like the reception post smile good luck to everyone!)) <>
Yo-ko decided to be the first "brave" man to walk through the halo. It would have been a little more risky and scarey had he not had a technique, a seal, very similar to this man's machine. He walked across the room, pushing and bumping several people in his way to make it all the way. Once he arrived to the center, he gave a quick half-assed salute to the host with his right hand. The symbol was a little shabby, but the message was perfectly clear: respect. Yo-ko was honored to be apart of this.
"Thanks buddy. I hope to see you as champ. I know you will be watching....."
Yo-ko, after his quick words, walked semi-cautiously through the halo. He immideatly felt the same magic the the host had used earlier, and instantly began to think and ponder the design. The host was not to different from Yo-ko himself. Yo-ko too liked techniqes, then studied them to see if he could put them in item or physical form. It was a neat little hobby for him between heists and missions.
<>
Finally, after several seconds, Yo-ko's body felt like it was returning to normal again. A ring of energy lowered itself like a curtain. Instead of shielding view, it revealed it; and revealed a new set of surroundings. Yo-ko instantly began to gather and plan anything that would be needed in this "ring": angles, cheap powerblows, falls, escapes. He started to calculate his moves just as he saw his opponent.
Due to the black color and high luster of the pillar they had been set on, His opponent seemed to look just as determined and focused as Yo-ko did. This thought brought a slight smile to Yo-ko as he muttered to himself.
"Kitsune verse kitsune. I havnt felt this in a while....."
No doubt at this tourney it seemed as if the kitsune race was out to prove its worth. Prove it it SHALL! Yo-ko was fired up and ready to give a good show. Unfortunetly for his opponent, he had not come to lose. He was going to give this his all, 100%. In a quick show of respect, Yo-ko raised his right fist in the air and pumped it at his opponent as he spoke.
"Good luck to you buddy!"

Kenta Kitsune rolled 1 20-sided dice:

Kenta took his time finishing the turkey leg he was picking at. Only when he finished did he make this way toward the locker 'room,' politely walking around anyone that happened to be in his way. His tail swayed cautiously, shimmering as light reflected off of his silver fur. Each step gave him a sense of anticipation he was not often acquainted with, but he also held a steady resolve as he eyed his father and the Replication. One was bad enough...
As he reached the door, he cast a firey gaze at KenoTao before approaching the Disperse Halo. It was probably the most complex technique his father had invented, and unfortunately, few to his knowledge were equipped with the necessary skills. Fur bristled, he walked through the Halo, prepared to face his challenger.
When his body reappeared in the coliseum-like arena, Kenta took a moment to observe his surroundings. He stood atop a blackish, square platform which served as the ring. This ring stood above ground, but still below the spectator's stands. From the looks of it, the ring alone was their boundary, which should be more than enough room to move around on.
Finally he observed his opponent, a fellow kitsune from the looks of things. That told him nothing right off about what to expect from this man, but so be it. Respectfully, the silver kitsune bowed to Yo-ko in response. Lifting his head, he shifted the left half of his body back a bit, keeping upper body as square before as possible, both gloved arms firmly clenched together. His eyes transformed from a passive, soft liquid gray, to a hard, steel gaze. It was only round one and he was already excited.

(( allright, i rolled an 11 against your 5. i will initiate the fight. this is post 1. good luck buddy))
Yo-ko's black gloved hands knew that this would be a rough first round. Kitsune where not the most destructive beasts in the world. That did not mean that they were not powerful. Just the opposite. Most their specialties involved up close and personal assassination: quick and deadly moves. He understood thids, because he understood himself. On wrong move would be fatal. So he would have to play this kid carefully, test him in the biggining with a powerful, yet easy technique.
Yo-ko raised his arms out at shoulder length to his side. Focusing his rei-energy around his arms, he formed six orange energy halo's around his forearms; three on each side. Focusing in on his opponents energy, he swings his arm foreward. The halo's immediatly sling off, flying at a high rate of speed twords his opponent.
This attack was called angel blades. They where pure spirit energy discs that could cut through nearly anything. A dangerouse part of the move was they where semi homing. This move would let Yo-ko get a better idea of Kenta's abilities.

Kenta watched carefully, prepared for to jump headfirst into this fight. Most of his experience dictated that most battle began close quarters. Strategically, it was usually best in that it limited one's opponent's time to react. The very moment Yo-ko moved, Kenta braced himself for impact, so was slightly caught unawares when he realized this fight was going to open with some sort of projectile technique.
The moment the silver kitsune caught sight of the orange bracelets forming on Yo-ko's arms, he took off, closing the 20 foot difference in the blink of an eye. By opening his arms wide like that, Yo-ko painted a huge bullseye on his entire upper body and head. Within striking distance, the boy shifted his right side forward, his right fist aimed directly for his challenger's abdomen while his right foot planted before him, allowing for him to make the most of his weight. The force behind his punch was such that a semi-truck moving along the interstate would not only be held at bay, but would also be pushed back at least 30 feet. However, this was nothing compared to the force that went into his footing to brace himself and prevent being knocked off guard if his attack were deflected or redirected.
Kenta was known for his speed and strength first and foremost and nothing short of evading the technique - which would force Yo-ko to cancel his own attack - would prevent his opponent from feeling a great deal of force collide with his body.

Yo-ko was amazed at his opponents speed. It was quite a display. It was somethign that Yo-ko had not calculated. However, his opponent had made a fatal mistake: he had not calculated the versitility of the angel blades. Yo-ko's eye had changed to its kitsune eye, allowing faster vision, the ability to see through illusions, the ability to see the opponents energy system in the body, and 360 degree vision. It was the faster vision that saved him. He had anticipated an attack, allowing for the next events to occur.
The arms never actually had to be swung. It was an opening in his guard that was meant to draw his opponent in. He had however miscalculated the speed and power of his opponent. He would not be able to dodge this one. In that respect, his opponent had certainly succeded. the six blades, launched from arms horizantally a split second before his attack hit, shifted to different locations on the body. Two for the clavicals, one for the neck, two for the floating ribs, and one down the center of his opponents chest. He would sacrafice his body for the dismemberment of his opponent. He attacked the attack. The ball was in Kenta's court....

Far from being caught off guard so easily, Kenta calculated the simple fact that Yo-ko, now that he had already began his attack, would be able to shift from offense to defense with relative ease. It was for this reason that the young kitsune had estimated he would probably not get a clear shot despite his speed; although it was interesting to note how quickly Yo-ko was able to adjust in such close proximity.
All of this mind, Kenta decided to wait to any sign of movement to execute his real counterattack. As soon as he saw the energy rings coming for him he launched a very powerful Shockwave from his person, his ki spiking sharply in the process. The result was a powerful sphere of energy that collided not only with Yo-ko's projectiles, but Yo-ko himself with a force similar to that of his intended punch. Being a full range, 360 degree attack however, Yo-ko would not suffer any form of bruising, though his body would be launched backward considerably.
The attack was quick and brief, but any of the rings that happened to be too close would be destroyed by the Shockwave's explosive force. Any that happened to survive could be dealt with in turn, but it was all up to Yo-ko.

Warned by his Kitsune eye that Kenta's energy surged, Yo-ko lurched his body backwords to gain distance away from the rushing blast. The angel blades all rebounded into different directions, cutting into the extremely dense stone then finally disipated. Yo-ko landed on his right knee, lowering his palms to the ground and surged his energy into a sphere around him. Controlling his hara he matched frequencys with the blast making his shield a part of blast, allowing him to control the bit of the wave surrounding him, giving him an open defense in his oponents attack.
His kitsune eye saw the energy in the wave quickly dissapear and knew that the attack was breif, but still powerful. Finding an Opening, Yo-ko decided to take it to the close-combat physical level. Using the tension in his grounded knee, Yo-ko bursted forward with the famed speed of the kitsune. Closing the distance between them in almost and instant, Yo-ko planted his left leg momentarely as he drove with the back(right) leg while torquing his hips forward as he shot out his right fist with crippling force and speed aiming for the adam's apple of his opponent. usign the moment of his punch, yo-ko pulled with his front (left) leg as he lifted his right leg into a round kick aimed for the peronial nerve ((think of a charley hourse, its the outside of the thigh)) trying to eliminate the use of his his opponents leg.
Yo-ko's mishima style of combat was top notch. He had studied that form for as longs as he could remember. The form involved a mix of hard (fist, knees, kicks) and soft strikes (palms, forearms, wrists) while extendign there energy into the opponenst body. This not only caused physical harm to the protection, but the the bodys organs and systems. Depending on his set up, Yo-ko could even get a energy system shot in. That was not the case this time. Blast and penetrate was this move. He had hopped to surpass his opponent with tricks and skills like a normal kitsune battle was fought. Apperently, his opponent had other games. Why not defeat him at that game, when Yo-ko was probably better trained in that field of combat.?
So far, the red dreadlocked kitsuen was impressed with his opponent. He brought passion, power, and pride to the kitsune. He was happy to fight with him. Either way, win or lose, it was a good showing for his race.

This Yo-ko was certainly the character. He was difficult to read since he was for the time still shifting from the metaphysical to the plain physical, but at any given time he could shift back and that was certainly unsettling, but not impossible to deal with. With an open, receptive expression, Kenta watched carefully as his Shockwave had the desired effect of keeping Yo-ko at a distance. The fact that the drealocked fox had lept backwards to avoid the impact opened him up for a sure fire ki blast, but Kenta was trying to see how disciplined a fighter his opponent was, not how gifted he was with techniques.
Once Yo-ko was on the move, Kenta was again on the defensive. He was perplexed, admittedly, with Yo-ko's tactic, but held his bearings nonetheless. He planted his left foot forward...but was punching with his right fist. Were Kenta to redirect, he could easily cross his fellow kitsune up, as well as expose Yo-ko's backside, which would be seemingly unguarded as his left arm and foot would be unable to reach Kenta.
However, Kenta knew that for a right punch to have any sort of success with the left foot forward, Yo-ko would have to get dangerously close. In response he took two steps back, inching back toward the center of the ring, and standing just about half a foot away out of Yo-ko's reach. He knew there was another objective and he intended to figure out what it was.
He didn't have to wait long, however. The shift in weight was obvious to Kenta, who responded not with another dodge, but with a kick. Yo-ko was aiming low, likely for Kenta's left leg, and he answered in turn by giving the kitsune just what he wanted. Putting his weight on his right foot a bit, Kenta lifted his left leg up and extended his foot to intercept the trajectory of Yo-ko's knee. All things considered, Kenta's reach was cut a bit short, but with his timing, Yo-ko would get a knee full of pain if he insisted on the attack.

The great advantage of using ones body for there attacks besides just a feeble limb was more then just added power: it added versitility, speed, mobility and stability. Yo-ko's opponent seemed to know that. Yet he had made a mistake in his defense. Yo-ko had surpassed the ability to just block. He had other means to defend himself. If his opponent had one physical weakness, Yo-ko had just found it.
Pulling his shin back, yo-ko stopped his kick but mantained his momentum. Spinning past his opponents knee, Yo-ko's body followed as he planted his right leg father away from Kenta. Now his back was too him! What was going on? However when Yo-ko picked up his left leg as he shifted his hips into kenta's direction while pressing with his now planted right leg to form a full powerful spin-side kick at deadly close range, aiming the solar plexus. Why did he choose this target instead of the many others?
When kenta raised his leg, it had tightened his lower abs, while upper abs (Containing the solar plexus) remained loose. if the kick nailed Kenta, all his air would be pushed out of his lungs, and extreme pain and discomfort would follow. Pain and discomfort was always the best set upt for a finish. With the knee raised, not only could the kick catch him slightly off balance if he hit it right, if enought of a whiplash occured, he could dislocate the raised knee's hip.
This was a Mishima counter at its finest. The use of ones foot work to set up, then destory the opponent. Yo-ko had another plan forming in his head, and this one could end it....

Indeed it was a surprising move on Yo-ko's part, but Kenta was not so foolish to think that someone would actually allow their own knee to be smashed in. The moment Yo-ko altered his attack, Kenta planted his left foot and leaned inward as he slid his right leg up, inching nearer his fellow kitsune. Though he hadn't expected it, the young canid would not let up on an opportunity to catch his opponent's backside.
While it made sense sometimes to do things that would throw one's enemy off guard, it made just as much sense to consider that they might shrug it off nigh instantly, and that's how Kenta responded. Yo-ko wouldn't have enough time to turn back around after making a 180 spin before Kenta extended both arms outward to wrap around the his waist, while simultaneously lowering his center. It took significantly less time to execute than a spin-side kick, especially considering the fact that Yo-ko had thrown his hips into Kenta.
Without wasted time or effort Kenta drew his left leg back to his right, keeping both at shoulder width, and leaned his entire upper body back into an arch, lifting Yo-ko in the process. Maybe with a bit of agility, Yo-ko could get out of this suplex before he landed shoulders first on the kachine floor. If not, he was guaranteed to be stunned by the attack, which would be more than enough for the young kitsune to correct his stance and posture after performing such a reckless move.

Once again, the kid proved to be quicker then Yo-ko thought. yet at the same time, he had done exactly what Yo-ko had wanted: closed the distance, then contact. It appeared the kid was well trained and highly skilled. Had Yo-ko not been the fighter he was, he would have been EASLY taken over by the kids abilities, strenght, and speed. However, Yo-ko too had similar qualities. Both being kitsune, they knew each others styles even if they didnt know each other very well. If one could master their style while mastering themselves, they could become unbeatable.
He felt his wiast get grabbed as he had spun, knowing that a powerful throw was about to come. He had little time to turn this into an advantage, but he had timing on his side as well. Yo-ko had delayed the spin slightly once again, to draw his opponent into him, to an "open guard" so that he could begin his demise. When he felt his opponent drop to get the power he neded, Yo-ko too dropped his center of gravity, though slightly ineffective due to his raised leg. He mainly did it to make kenta use just a tad more energy. Reaching back with his left hand, Yo-ko just touched kenta's chest. When he became air borne, Yo-ko pressed his second index finger knuckle inbetween the first two knuckles of kenta's right hand in a point dubbed "release point." this pressure point was an involentary expansion of the hand, loosening any grip. So for the most part, Yo-ko had escaped.
Unfortunetly, his timing was slightly off and he had waited too long to release the grip. so instad of backfliping onto his feet, he landed on all fours in the "spider man stance." pressing up and pulling his knees, he placed his left leg forward with the wieght on each leg 50/50. His hands where up, palms slighly outward. He could not return to his feet in time to launch an attack, but he could prepare for another oncomming assult.

Well it was definitely an odd series of events, but it seemed that yo-ko wanted Kenta to go for the grab in order to...escape? He wasn't quite sure what this crafty figure had in mind, but that didn't change the fact that Kenta was still performing a suplex and Yo-ko was going to be released before the expected impact. How could he change turn this back around to his advantage? Albeit upside down, one thing came immediately to mind, probably because he was so close to the ground.
Use the ring.
Apparently Yo-ko's timing was a bit off, which left him a bit more open than he probably would have appreciated. Kenta was very thankful at that moment that the ring had been divided into a hundred different squares. Focusing intently on but one of them - one which Yo-ko would be landing above - he used his telekinesis to force the large block to rise ten feet in the matter of two seconds. It would therefore be expected to collide with Yo-ko's chin or face, depending on how he craned his neck, in a fifth of that time. It wasn't much, but it would keep Yo-ko on guard while Kenta simultaneously spun onto all fours and pushed himself back up on both feet.

The whole plan had worked perfectly. Just like always, the ability to think allowed him to win. His trump card had been set. Played however, that would have to wait. Yo-ko was thinking as he back flipped...
Bonk! as he knees came into contact with the hard floor. Damn, that was an unexpected attack, and his knees hurt like nuts! Not only that, the force gave Yo-ko a slight whiplash, nothing a little stretching could cure though. Either way, he had been slightly out thought in that proccess. However, he would take the advantage now. His eyes registered the change in altitude, even just slightly. For now, he could wear down his opponent with spiritual attacks before finishing him.
"that was freaking slick, whatever you did"
Focusing his rei energy into his palm, the dredlocked kitsune formed the element of darkfire as it called all the way up to his elbow. Forming an element.....whatever. This attack was well practiced and controlled, alowing yo-ko to control it as it where an arm. yo-ko, stretching out his arm palm facing his target, released the energy in a woosh. Out of it flew a dragon of an demonic element that insinerated things on a direct contact and sacred burns when it came close. With the combination of darkfire, the ability to control it, and all the benifits of the Kitsune eye: Yo-ko had a devistating attack power with this art. The dragon flew with its snarling mout open, looking to "devore" its target. This was surely an attack. Was this the only part of his plan? was there more.....

A solid hit. Excellent! It was just what he needed. Although, all the while, Kenta got the sinking suspicion that Yo-ko was planning something. The way he behaved, still so confident, prepared, and calm, indicated that he was either treating this like a game or was planning everything in advance. It was just a feeling, and one he wasn't too confident on, but paranoid enough perhaps.
He felt a rise in Yo-ko's energy and saw something unnatural form on Yo-ko's arm that looked like fire, but not as bright as it should be. Pure animal instinct told him to get out of the way, but it was too easy. With a surge of energy and an expression that screamed irritation, Kenta did the very thing his gut told him to, though he took his sweet time doing it.
Right before the serpent like attack consumed him, the silver kitsune dashed like a bolt to his right, keeping just five feet away from the body of the dragon as it passed by. No sooner had he moved out of the way than he fired a ki ball for Yo-ko's abdomen. The force behind the ball was such that it would push him back before exploding if he did not dodge it. Despite the release of such an energy ball, his energy seemed to continue rising, as though he had a plan of his own.
