From the reception banquet, the participants pass through the Disperse Halo and once again their bodies are dissembled to be no heavier than molecules of air. Each one has prepared arduously for this moment and now has the opportunity to test their strength and skill against a diversity of warriors from all corners of the world. Round One has begun.
The first round’s stage has been set. Standing silent and isolated from all civilization is a coliseum in likeness of Roman architecture. Enclosing the interior are stone stands that wrap around in a full circle for spectators to look down into a pit traditionally designed to force outcastes, slaves, and prisoners into blood-sport. However, unlike the days of old, this ring will be used to honor respected warriors of all trades as they strive to prove their worth to the world. The floor of the pit falls 30 feet from the lowest stand, its boundaries marked off by the giant wall of stone that surrounds it. However, situated nicely inside of this round stadium rises a large platform standing 25 feet high. This large block is fed by two stairways: one on the east and the other on the western edges. Its surface shimmers with a lustrous black color whose sparkle threatens to distract the eyes of the contestants under a bright sun. The stone material is known as Kachine and is recorded to be the densest substance in the known universe. From edge to edge the ring spans 50 feet and is divided into ten rows and columns of five-foot squares with a slightly indented groove running between them.
Onto this stage falls a large ring almost as large as the square ring it descends upon. This large circle of red and black energy drops at a steady pace, revealing what looks like two different sets of hair. As it reaches ever closer to the ring floor, two identifiable beings come into existence, one being the daughter of Egypt Sol Nal Azul, and the other recognized as the Ruby Kitsune Red. The warriors stand 20 feet apart, each man ten feet from the center. All around them there appears to be any number of onlookers, but these figures are long since petrified stone mannequins. Their purpose would be made clear to one with magnified vision, who would notice the tiny cameras positioned where a normal person’s eyes would be. Each dummy was constructed accurately in order to for the real spectators to observe from a safe distance.
Silence rests all around the two warriors, the only two people left on Earth it would seem. Only they, their opponent, and the ring exist. The battle is underway.
~Ring Courtesy of Carl Elynwood Before either contestant begins, please prepare an entrance post of your own to indicate you are prepared to start and once again roll a 20 sided die via post action. Whoever rolls the higher number will be responsible for the initial fight post. All warriors are advised to keep count of the number of posts because no post after the specified limit will be considered for the tournament. One method is to include the post number every time your character makes a move. At this moment, all profiles have been pulled and will be forwarded to the judges. If at any point your character does something not clearly specified in your profile, you will be asked to edit the post or be disqualified. Good luck to you, and may the fight begin.

Sol's stoic figure stood unmoving at her point of materialization. Her gaze fixed on the red haired vixen before her she blinked as if bored of the entire ordeal. She would learn much from this bout. Save from the small level of combat knowledge cobbled together from those she had assimilated and that of her current host, she was extremely inexperienced.
Silently observing the other combatant's from the outskirts of view she had been collecting data and resting energy levels from all present. It seemed many had been forcibly holding back their energies much to her displeasure. At least engaging in combat would force them to release.
"Second century derived architecture. The make up is behind my recognition, but its density belies something more..."
Studying her surroundings nonchalantly her heavy cloak hung heavily across her form belying much in the way of movement or even body shape. What weapons and tools she had at her disposal would not readily be known.
"This may prove an hindrance.."

Red gazed at her opponent with the same cold, uncaring gaze she issued to everyone else. The fact that she wasn't familiar with this woman at all made it a bit easier to fight without restraint, but why in the hell would she wear herself out in the first round? It might actually come down to that, but if she won this match, she would have another on her hands, and if the pattern continued, her ability to win would matter more on stamina than strength and skill.
Silently she began to assess her enemy's mana signature, measuring up as best she could the limits of this dark woman's powers. Everything about her was alien as far as the ruby kitsune was concerned, which made for unfavorable fighting conditions. The only thing she could gather was that this woman - Sol Nal Azul was her name - was more articulate than most who donned the title 'fighter.'
Were it up to her, Red would be able to see more of this Sol woman's frame and arsenal; assuming she was armed with anything at all. However that cloak made for decent cover. Perhaps it would prove too heavy a burden to carry into battle.
"Well met Sister. May the Mother bless us both."
For a greeting, she certainly did not sound to welcoming, but she went through all the notions nonetheless, and even bowed before assuming a stance she had never used before in public. Her left foot rested before her while her right, pointing 45 degrees away from 'forward,' held her rear. Her right hand she kept near her center while her left extended outward. She kept her upper body square before her opponent, eyes and face expressionless. Not even her tail stirred as she maintained a disciplined calm about her.

Finding the greeting unfamiliar the cat eyed woman's expression clouded as she analyzed the phrasing.
"Hmmm...your speech depicts religious worship. I have yet to study much of such things. Perhaps an inquiry can be made following the termination of this encounter."
Bowing in relation to Red's, she once again rose to her fully height and stepped back a number of feet.
"Commencing combat."
With little warning the cloaked woman leapt what could be deciphered as 15 feet into the air her cloak bellowing behind her casting a expansive shadow upon her kitsune opponent below. Aiming to come down with considerable force there appeared to be little in the way of other action coming from the dark woman.

"Perhaps."
She responded with those two syllables alone, not for a second batting an eye or otherwise displaying any form of distraction. It was her experience that even if she expected one thing from her enemy, they almost inevitably delivered something else.
Therefore the woman's ascent to the skies was both unexpected and consequently predicted. Rather than simply leaping away, or rolling to one side or another, Red was given the liberty to actually walk, albeit hurriedly, out of the line of attack.
She moved forward swiftly, taking sliding steps with her left foot ever forward, and spun on the balls of her feet. Even if Sol spun mid air, her cloak would still flutter behind her path of flight. In a light hop, Red extended her left arm outward to grasp the end of the heavy cloak that fluttered behind its host. If it wasn't ripped out of her grasp, she would immediately pull back and down, which would lead Sol to lose balance from the force on her shoulder and neck area. Red's intention was to follow suit with this initial movement, for it would provide her some insight on how best to approach Sol for the rest of the match.

An interesting maneuver regardless, grabbing the cloak would be likened to grabbing thick canvas. Due to its owners sheer velocity, one fingers would be strained in the process if not rubbed raw. Whatever the material was belied it dense nature as it still fluttered with her movements.
Being drug off balance by the grab the tall woman landed roughly staggering forward. Sheer force of her collision with the dense air caused the air to quake.
With a dancers grace the tall woman quickly reclaimed her balance, spinning to face her opponent. Moving with her cloak she attacked from her right side her blow obscured from view.

"Mm."
She had figured there was something abnormal about the cloak the moment she touched it. The amount of resistance it applied on her grasping fingers was greater than she had anticipated. She had not prepared for such force and could not measure up to it so quickly, and thus let go as quickly as she had grabbed it. However, the damage appeared to have already been done as her opponent lost her balance anyway.
The air itself quivered so much so that she could feel it, but it did not matter too much to her. What was important was the matter of the cloak and her aggressor. This was not immediately turning out to look well. It was a clever move to use the cloak as a means to hide your attack. A self made blind spot would work well, but a deaf spot did not exist as far as she knew considering the natural laws of physics.
She could hear the movement of the fabric and it was plain sight that told her she was being attacked. All things considered, she figured it would be best to retreat, moving backwards in turn with Sol so that she was ever out of reach. There was no guarantee that she would change her tactic, but it was enough for now. Red muttered something that sounded like an insignificant curse. Her luck couldn't be much worse at the moment.

Through her studies Sol had come about many different associated idiosyncrasies in bifocal organisms. Depth perception could easily become liability. When faced with a object coming at them at high velocity, they tended ignore other near by objects.
Making note of Kitsunes retreat, it easily avoided her side attack. But depth perception had away of making one only acclimate towards the immediate danger.
In a fluid movement, the tall woman had already shifted her weight and begun to snap a arching kick from her left side while her right had the attention. Avoiding the blow from the right would likely make her opponent too unbalanced to acclimate to the immediate blow from the left. Which in turn had greater range

It still seemed far too simple. Were Red an amateur fighter, or just plain stupid, she might have fallen for such a feint, but she was already aware of two things. She could not actually see the attack, but simply knew where it was coming from. There was no point in keeping her eye on a ball that wasn't there. Secondly, her opponent was taller than her by nearly a foot, which also suggested that her limbs would be longer. This was another advantage she had over Red, but so be it.
However, Sol's feint reminded Red of a very important part of her training that she had forgotten. She'd not make the same mistake again.
While most might take flight, far too literally often times, Red's retreat wasn't so hasty that she compromised balance for speed. Each step was a calculated shift, the weight distribution carefully measured. She was more than prepared for the kick and she responded by lifting her right arm at the shoulder joint and clamping down on the leg, her palm holding firm to the calf. Stepping to her left, she ensured that, unguarded, Sol would be crossed up and her balance faulty. Twisting right at the waist, she planted her left hand on Sol's thigh and then, sweeping her right foot in an arch behind her while maintaining her center all the while, Red moved to swing Sol around her a full 180 degrees and throw her toward - not off- the edge of the ring.

Constantly looking for flaws and exploits, upon having her caught she immediately launched into the first thought she had in mind. Making note of Red trying to throw her off balance the tall women threw her entire weight forward using using Red's arms as a platform and proceeded to stomp down repeatedly on Red's unprotected chest with her right foot.
Whether or not the stomps would actually connect was of little consequence, the abrupt shift in weight would like knock the Kistune to the ground.

It was an interesting move on Sol's side, and no doubt Red had to improvise quickly. She saw the bronzed woman prepare to launch upward and knew she would not be granted the full time needed for the throw. If she were to turn, Sol would miss her chest, but the outcome would not be good.
Instead she decided to redirect her own weight. As she was already moving in a circular manner, she braced for Sol's additional weight in case she launched forward before Red's own energy came full circle. With a swivel of her hips and thrust forward, accompanied by another step for safe measure, she hoped to resist Sol's weight with her own, or to the least, redirect it back before shifting her left hand on top of the woman's thigh and pressing directly down in order to reacquaint Sol with the ground harshly or otherwise.
It would be foolish to maintain a hold on Sol's left leg, so if her maneuver proved successful, she would quickly release her opponent and retreat back and to the left.

Upon having Red pushing back into her weight, the tall woman used her monstrous strength to kick off Red's body at the brief moment of equilibrium there was when Red pushed back and was releasing her leg.
Reorienting herself in mid air, Sol clasped her hands together to bring them down in a hammer blow across the top of Red's head

The kick had not been calculated. Fortunately it was not meant to injure, but it still irritated Red that she had given that much away to carelessness. Nevertheless she would not betray herself to emotions because of a mistake. The past was the past.
With Sol no longer in her grasp, the woman was once again on the attack. So be it. In the air once more, but not nearly as high it appeared, she had given Red time once more to evade, but she was sure Sol had taken that into consideration. The hammer blow would in fact be avoided with a step to the right, just out of the line of attack.
Red's evasion was timed so that her counter would flow seamlessly with Sol's attack. As she stepped to her right, her left arm came up as though to block awkwardly. The moment both women's limbs came into contact, Red twisted her arm, forming the natural curve that spanned from the blade of her hand down to her shoulder. She allowed Sol's attack to pass by her harmlessly, redirected by the natural arch in her arm, but the moment her wrist neared the elbow, she turned her palm to grasp it.
Keeping herself solid, Red returned her left arm to her waist, along with Sol's elbow. Using her right arm, she placed her palm on the woman's side, twisted her body, and sweeping her left foot around counterclockwise, gave a passive shove against Sol, advancing her movement just a bit to the right of her intended patch.
By now, Red's body was starting to feel heavy, a sign of fatigue, probably induced by the fast paced combat and her inability to successfully 'adjust' to Sol. Her head felt steady, so she was none too worried, but it was still a bad omen as far as she was concerned.

The red fox was an agile one indeed. It pleased her that her quarry was constantly on the move. Ever generating energy it seemed to flow off her in droves. Upon missing her hammer blow slow remained low with her knee's bent allowing her to have a stronger center of gravity.
Feeling the Kitsune's grasp on her wrist, the cat eyed woman felt the urge to smile. Apparently a bit of her hosts emotional state was seeping through. Acclimating into society was a difficult task and thus any inkling of personality was deemed acceptable as long as it was not disruptive.
Unsure of what the red haired woman would do she waited. When the shove was felt, the tall woman immediately dropped to her knees letting Reds momentum carry her forward. Rolling her shoulders, Sol rocked to her left arching her left arm downward. Using this flow she attempted add her own superhuman strength to the mix and throw the red fox over head.

It had not occur to her that Sol might try to toss Red. Although she had a grasp on the woman's elbow, it was not nearly strong enough to maintain a connection between a person standing firm and one moving away. It was only firm enough to maintain Sol's descent back to the ground.
Red's own push was enough to wrench Sol free of her grasp, so the extra effort went unnoticed by the kitsune who simply prepared to take advantage of her enemy's back being turned to her.
With any luck, Sol would not turn around in time to see Red's attack, though she was near sure that even if the Eqyptian did, it would be too late for anything better than a hasty defense - an evasion or quick block. Rather than leaping, she took rapid steps forward, her skirt kicking up with each step. With grace and skill she moved from her rapid, careless steps, to her cautious, shift stepping, left foot forward. Unsure of how Sol would turn around, or counter period, she decided to move into range and extend a simple straight punch with her left fist toward the center of the ebony woman's back.
Altogether, the attack might bruise if it hit bone, but it's main focus was to stun, but Red wasn't going to jump immediately into a follow through. A stunning blow, if successful, would give her more than enough time to continue uninterrupted.
