From the reception banquet, the participants pass through the Disperse Halo and once again their bodies are dissembled to be no heavier than molecules of air. Each one has prepared arduously for this moment and now has the opportunity to test their strength and skill against a diversity of warriors from all corners of the world. Round One has begun.
The first round’s stage has been set. Standing silent and isolated from all civilization is a coliseum in likeness of Roman architecture. Enclosing the interior are stone stands that wrap around in a full circle for spectators to look down into a pit traditionally designed to force outcastes, slaves, and prisoners into blood-sport. However, unlike the days of old, this ring will be used to honor respected warriors of all trades as they strive to prove their worth to the world. The floor of the pit falls 30 feet from the lowest stand, its boundaries marked off by the giant wall of stone that surrounds it. However, situated nicely inside of this round stadium rises a large platform standing 25 feet high. This large block is fed by two stairways: one on the east and the other on the western edges. Its surface shimmers with a lustrous black color whose sparkle threatens to distract the eyes of the contestants under a bright sun. The stone material is known as Kachine and is recorded to be the densest substance in the known universe. From edge to edge the ring spans 50 feet and is divided into ten rows and columns of five-foot squares with a slightly indented groove running between them.
Onto this stage falls a large ring almost as large as the square ring it descends upon. This large circle of red and black energy drops at a steady pace, revealing what looks like two different sets of hair. As it reaches ever closer to the ring floor, two identifiable beings come into existence, one being the Jedi Valin Lobel, and the other recognized as the Snow Fox Kendo Foxx. The warriors stand 20 feet apart, each man ten feet from the center. All around them there appears to be any number of onlookers, but these figures are long since petrified stone mannequins. Their purpose would be made clear to one with magnified vision, who would notice the tiny cameras positioned where a normal person’s eyes would be. Each dummy was constructed accurately in order to for the real spectators to observe from a safe distance.
Silence rests all around the two warriors, the only two people left on Earth it would seem. Only they, their opponent, and the ring exist. The battle is underway.
~Ring Courtesy of Carl Elynwood Before either contestant begins, please prepare an entrance post of your own to indicate you are prepared to start and once again roll a 20 sided die via post action. Whoever rolls the higher number will be responsible for the initial fight post. All warriors are advised to keep count of the number of posts because no post after the specified limit will be considered for the tournament. One method is to include the post number every time your character makes a move. At this moment, all profiles have been pulled and will be forwarded to the judges. If at any point your character does something not clearly specified in your profile, you will be asked to edit the post or be disqualified. Good luck to you, and may the fight begin.

Flicking the hilt of his great katana the Kitsune sage stood with a broad smile upon his face. It had been a considerable amount of years since he had faced one of the scholar warriors known as a Jedi.
Their order was not unlike those of his own. Both had strict practices that one was to follow. Both wielded powerful blades of their own make. Both molded the forces of that govern life at will. Where they differed was how they molded such powers.
To the average shadow mage, the Jedi asked for contradictions in their own nature. Denying oneself passion was the same as letting them self be ruled by it. Desire was what allowed for innovation. Innovation was one of the Shadow mage's guiding principles.
"Greetings Master Jedi...I have not known you ilk to seek out combat, but I suppose that is one of my many misconceptions. Regardless it is a pleasure to be your first opponent."
Bowing his head he proceeded to tie his long white hair into a ponytail to not have it be an hindrance during the fight.

Valin looked around. Now this place was pretty interesting. Very... ancient feel to it all. He liked it. It would be a great place for this fight. He pulled back the hood of his cloak revealing eyes of a deep green and a brown, thick goatee that matched his long, tied back brown hair.
He smiled at his opponent as he removed the bulky and long dark brown cloak, tossing it aside, "Well, generally, Jedi don't go looking for fights. However. Sometimes you gotta test yourself, keep yourself sharp and in the zone. Besides, " the smile turned into a slight grin, "I love a good beatdown!"
The Jedi Knight removed one of the lightsabers from his belt and with a snap-hiss, a green blade came alive. He whirled it around slightly, obviously warming himself up a bit. Suddenly, the blade retracted back into the hilt and Valin put it back on his belt. Today, he had only this one lightsaber and no blaster. Such a weapon would be... uncivilized.
He bowed to the man before him, "It is a pleasure to do combat with you. May the Force be with you, my friend."

The Jedi Knight reached into the Force, beckoned it for its power. The sensation of using the Force is indescribable. It is like having another set of eyes or ears and yet nothing so earthly. It is an extra sense, a greater sense of awareness and of the universe. The Force was life and all life was the Force. It was power of both good and evil
Suddenly, Valin was in the air, a high jump into the air with a great somersault before hitting the ground once again. With a great 'push' of Force energy, he would slam an invisible wall at his opponent. If he managed to evade it or not, the Jedi's light saber was out once more and with that same snap-hiss, the green blade came alive once more. Valin ran forward, blade held at about head level with both hands.

Almost as if mimicking his opponent the kitsune took a deep breath dropping into the relaxed form of the Blind shadow stance. Crossing his sheathed blade behind his back he outstretched his palm as if testing the air. Sampling the air with aura quickly struck the blade at the ground and leapt up balancing on its pommel as the invisible wall struck his perch from beneath him.
Eyes still closed he back flipped off just as the sword toppled. Sliding free from between his fingers he unleashed a splaying barrage of acupuncture needles arching at the Jedi.

"Hmph. All too easy."
Valin hurled himself through the cloud of needles at his opponent, channeling the Force into a sort of shield that prevent the objects from stabbing him or causing any physical harm whatsoever. His clothes were not so easily spared, though and the needles rip through them seeing as this Force barrier extended only across his body.
With a Force assisted boost into the air, he was now right on top of his foe. He swung the blade downwards sharply and swiftly then twirling it back around with a sideways swing in a large arc, which would seemingly leave him open to attack. This was the Ataru style - an aggressive, fast paced, but graceful lightsaber combat form that required a rather taxing amount of energy to pull off well.
The Jedi hoped this would all be over rather quickly. And with him the victor by the end of the match. Either way though, he was enjoying this!

Landing on the ground in a crouch his arms still splayed spread eagle he glanced up to catch view of the Jedi barring down upon him. In the same motion as it took for him to stand up, he proceeded to kick his fallen blade into his waiting right hand. Parrying the lightsaber strike with the sheathed weapon it sparked violently on collision as it were struck by a more tangible blade.
A stern expression flowed over the sage's face as he stepped back to parry the secondary strike by tilting the blade downward into its path. All the while his left hand remained outstretched his fingers still splayed. Clasping them into a fist an indiscernible phrase exiting his lips.
"Immolate..."
The myriad of needles that had not found their way through the Jedi's robes immediately exploded into flames.

Valin suddenly realized he was on fire. And this, of course, was not a pleasant thing. Flames licked at his clothes, from what the Jedi rationalized was needles that had become tangled within his clothing suddenly exploding. Those on the ground had become like fire, as well. As he landed his second strike, he rolled on the ground to try and extinguish the flames. He willed the Force to do something, like cut off oxygen to the flames on his clothing, as he rolled.
The rolled ended and he was up again, somewhat haphazardly at that, nearly falling over himself in the process. He went with the motions, spinning himself three hundred sixty degrees and using this momentum to hurl his lightsaber at at the sage, the blading whirling swiftly and violently.

Grimacing the Sage watched the Jedi flounder about in the flames almost feeling sorry for enacting the spell. Realizing he was wasting an ample attack moment, he immediately returned to battle as the Jedi released his lightsaber.
Grasping the hilt of his blade, the kitsune dropped into a quick drawing stance. Taking a deep breath he drew the great katana and struck out at the whirling energy blade aiming for its hilt. Using the Aku-nodachi's sheer length he hoped to keep the attack at bay, while still having his grip upon the sheath to parry any secondary strikes.

The lightsaber bounced off the blade, coherent light meeting his foe's sword. The saber went wild, its own momentum sending it flying in a different direction and hitting the ground, where it bounced several times before deactivating . Valin was now running with lightning speed - and seemingly without quite an amount of grace - at the sage. As he did so, he asked the Force to bring his weapon to him. It responded to the call and would be returning shortly to his waiting mechanical left hand.
But he was not truly weaponless. Valin reached into a deep, dark place within his mind. Within his very soul. He had seen so much tragedy in his life. So much pain and suffering. Had personally experienced pain that would normally break the strongest human minds and bodies, but endured. It took only a small part of this inner, forbidden rage to produce a power within the Force.
From the Jedi's flesh right hand burst lightning. Not a little arc of such, either, but large and wide arc of that looked like an angry cloud just discharged within the arena they were fighting in. This wasn't just an attack - this could easily kill the man.

This battle would not be the first time the Kitsune had dealt with a Jedi. He had dealt with the warriors from both sides of spectrum. On one side they were perhaps some of the most noble allies he had ever faced. So full of self critique they questioned every action. Selfless beyond reason. Almost to the point of being a caricature of the "term" noble.
On the other side he had witnessed individuals so twisted from trying to fulfill this ideal that they had lost themselves in the process. In this case nobility had been replaced with a overt sense of hedonism. So unable to forgive themselves for being flawed that they strove to accentuate the flaws in all else.
In an interesting parallel one thing both sides of the spectrum seemed to hold dear was their weapons. Just as in his own order their weapons were not just implements. They were in turn extensions of their own being. The Jedi's current reaction was not unlike such he had seen before. It seemed this man before him had strode both sides of the spectrum and teetered at their fulcrum.
Watching the knight rush him with an rage he had fought with many a time, the sage smiled.
"You too bask in the shadows..."
Striking forth in erratic archs the Jedi's lightening streaked toward him attempting to engulf his form.
"...welcome"
The spidery words of magic seemed to seep from his lips like the sweet nothings of a man to his lover. Mere seconds from being struck down by the Jedi's attack, a black sphere born of mana crackled violently into existence within his left palm. Critically studying the attack, archs of black and purple lightening reached forward. Mimicking the force powered energy storm, the dark lightening clashing heavily against it, sparks raining heavily upon the kachine battlefield.
Pointing his sword blindly at the Jedi, the kitsune craned his neck in a beckoning posture.
"Come...our blades have much to discuss."

Valin smirked, "I use the darkness when the time calls for it. I do not lose myself to it. Not anymore."
The lightsaber met his hand and snapped its green blade alive once more. He was rather impressed to see the black and purple lightning countering his own. Whatever power he wielded, it could easily match the Force in terms of power. The thrill of fighting an opponent whose power was similar - perhaps even stronger - than his own was great.
The Jedi almost instantly closed the distance and the lightsaber was a blur of movement, using the Force to enhance his already Jedi and military trained relaxs. They were short, staccato swings, stabs, and slices at the kitsune. These attacks were never meant to kill, but to simply cut and injure his foe on the limbs and body - he never aimed for the head.

Nodding at the Jedi's response the Kitsune smiled broadly, readying his blade. The knight closed in faster than he had anticipated and sheer length of his sword proved a hindrance.
Parrying the strikes the sage defended against strikes with deft twists of his wrists and shallow upturns of the blade. In order to prevent himself from being struck by the stabs the snow fox found himself stepping back for space on more than one occasion.
Catching the outskirts of the battleground in corner of his eye the snow fox went on the offensive. By timing his movements, he waited for a quick stab from the Jedi. Quickly twisting his blade edge to its flat he stepped into the knights body, dragging the sword horizontally down the lightsabers length. Upon reaching the lightsabers hilt he thrust his sword pommel into the Jedi's sternum.

The sword's butt hit the Jedi right in the chest. It caused him to lose balance a bit - but Valin went with the motion. As he stumbled backwards, his right leg came up to go and kick Kendo in the jaw. This cost the Jedi the rest of his stability at standing and he fell completely backwards now, directing his lightsaber so it would not harm either of them - he didn't want his opponent to lose a limb.
As he hit the ground on his back, he tossed his flesh hand up at Kendo and then pulled it backwards. Unless the man had a trick to resist it, he would probably go flying over Valin as though an invisible hand yanked him with great force and then left him to fall to the ground.
