Blink was f***ing bad enough.
And now after I watch this two-parter, I'm gonna be p***ing myself everytime I see a f***ing shadow.
THANKS A LOT MOFFAT
[/sarcasm]

Personally, I wouldn't worry... even though I now have an even worse phobia of statues than I did before after watching Blink. You'll be fine!
Oh, and you will notice that I have replaced swearing with asterisks. Please watch your language. Thank you.

Oh yes, this looks to be another 'hide-behind-the-sofa-with-a-blanket-over-your-head' episode to be sure!
But, from the look of the teaser, I don't think that I'll bet getting practical ideas for halloween costumes (last year we had an 'Are You My Mummy' group at my aunt's haunted house).

tennantsbutterfly Oh, and you will notice that I have replaced swearing with asterisks. Please watch your language. Thank you. Is there a reason for this Katy? There's nothing I can see in the Guild Rules sticky about swearing, and McPhallus's post is well within the TOS of Gaia-at-large. Couldn't it be left up to people who don't want to read the effin' and jeffin' of others to just turn Gaia's language filters on? If not, maybe you should consider updating the Rules sticky so that people know the mods have an anti-swearing policy here. On-topic : McPhallus, maybe you should start ******* dreading the whole of the next ******* season?

Same... I don't get nightmares, though. But I'm already a little afraid of the dark... *gulp*

If not, maybe you should consider updating the Rules sticky so that people know the mods have an anti-swearing policy here. We don't have a strict no-swearing policy here on the basis that you'd get into all sorts of debates about where the line is drawn - but we have had various (admittedly short) mod and member discussions about it in the past and we generally choose to filter it at our own discretion. I view swear words in posts more like I view spoilers; I'm not against them myself since I don't pay enough attention for them to have any effect, I just think some people might not want to wander into masses of them with no fore-warning as soon as they click on a thread. As a person who swears a LOT in real life I'm being a complete hypocrite. But who cares? But back onto topic again... I'm really, really looking forward to being scared by the next episode. There's nothing I like more than spending the whole night jumping at shadows! biggrin

Hmm, the trailer for next episode doesn't look particularly good, but since it's Moffatt that's writing it, I'm confident it will be excellent.

Thanks Roobarb! I am one of the people who doesn't want to wander into masses of expletives! I don't mind mild swearing, but stronger stuff (eg, F-word/P-word/S-word) I feel is inappropriate. I very rarely swear myself (ie only when I've properly lost my temper or I am in absolutely agonising amounts of pain).

...I just realised... I have an exam in between the two episodes. If I mess up because I'm scared, I am blaming Moffett. I will hunt him down for it.

Thanks for the clarification, Roobarb and Butterfly.
Still seems a little dodgy to me to be telling people to "watch your language" when there's no way they could possibly have known that they were being held to different standards on this Guild than they are on the rest of Gaia.
Maybe the Rules Sticky needs something added to it like, "Swearing is not strictly prohibited, but posters are asked to show consideration for the sensitivites of others" ?

RoseTyler24 I heard a rumor that Rose is supposed to come back either this next episode or the one after...anyone have any input on this? Rose returns in Episode 11, Turn Left, written by Russel T Davies.

Personally, I don't swear here simply because pretty much no one else does. And there's the fact that as an EDA reader, I associate Doctor Who with not just a lack of cursing, at least on the Doctor's part, but the antimatter to cursing's matter. Fitz's and Anji's, not so much, although Fitz is startlingly polite at times, in his way, and has been known to say "Gordon Bennett" when surprised. But the Doctor says "sugarmice", "fiddlesticks", "gobstopper", and "flapdoodle", bless 'is hearts.
But the rules don't seem to forbid cursing. Maybe we should add a rule that says more explicitly that we don't really do cussin', but you won't be hung, drawn, and quartered if you do, or even in any real trouble.
And also I'm glad to say that scary episodes honestly only scare me for about a day. If I saw an angel statue, I'd be quite comfortable blinking in front of it.

seffy_chan Please don't be rude to one another. Also: Please.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the rules. crying Um...the issue here is that we have read the rules, and what's being enforced here that doesn't seem to be one of them. It's obviously utterly up to you guys if you want to make "Mind your language" one of your rules, but while it isn't one then its all a bit Kafka-esque to berate people for not following it. Happily though, I can't see anyone being rude to each other. All's friendly. smile Just a point of protocol rather than anything personal. seffy_chan BTW some people like Moffat. Everyone likes Moffat. smile
