Shortly after his last visit with Heartpool, Koisplash sat at the edge of Thunderpath, watching the monsters zoom by. It was nearing sundown, so there was barely enough time between each of them to dash through safely. He shivered as the cold of the night settled in, but kept telling himself that seeing the medicine cat was worth it.

A pause in between monsters encouraged him to get up and run. Koisplash managed to cross the first half of the run without a problem, but as he passed the yellow line, a honking filled the air and he could only see bright light for the next few moments...

The medicine cat remembered a sickening thud, his body flying, and a crunch as he landed on the ground. Luckily he had the strength to twist himself in mid-air, but even landing on his feet wouldn't save him. His legs gave out under him, covered in blood and he thought he could see a gleaming white bone jutting out in the dying light.

Clenching his teeth from the pain, Koisplash tried to get up but it was hopeless. Everything, from his head to his tail, was crying out in pain and jabbed an invisible knife into his muscles with every movement he made. He supressed a cry, but couldn't hold back the tears in his eyes.

Oh Starclan! Was this is punishment for his love for Heartpool?! Was he destined to die on the cold pavement because of the forbidden love? Koisplash prayed silently to his ancestors for mercy through his clouded mind. He had trouble staying conscious, but he knew that caving into the darkness that threatened to consume his vision could mean the end of him...

((Part one- Koisplash is hit by a car and receives terrible injuries, including broken legs. Heartpool finds him and brings him back to the Shadowclan medicine den against better judgement. Koisplash and Heartpool only.
Part two- The Shadowclan medicine cats fuss about a Riverclan cat being brought in for treatment. The patient discovers that he must stay in another clan's territory in order to heal and be able to regain his ability to walk. Koisplash, Heartpool, and if desired, Larksparrow and Starpelt.
Part three- After the initial tension dies down, other Shadowclan cats are allowed inside the den to revive the drama. Koisplash and Shadowclan members.))

Koisplash at first thought that he was just hallucinating the voice that was telling him to get up. There were no cats that would be this far out in this time, no cats that would care if a Riverclan cat was struck by a monster...

Yet, as the smooth melodious voice continued to wash over him, his brain began to recognize it. His eyes opened wider, revealing the cat that was trying to pull him off the Thunderpath.

"Heart... pool...?" He said in a feeble voice. Part of him still thought that this was his imagination running wild from the pain, but he could feel himself being dragged. That was enough to convince him that his savior, Heartpool, was real and doing all she can to get Koisplash to safety.

"I was... I was going to visit you... You look really nice today..." He gave her a pained smile while forcing himself to move his leg. A dull crack came from it, and he screamed out, only to be muffled at the last second.

Trying to walk in this state could make things worse, or kill him. Yet, Koisplash still tried to move, fearing that Heartpool would exhaust herself by dragging his heavy body all the way to somewhere.

Koisplash just grinned back at Heartpool's retort, not caring about how he looks right now. The pain was driving him delirious, making him feel that everything was going to be alright now... His lover was here, she would take care of him... He wouldn't have to be with Starclan now...

He half-closed his eyes for a moment, letting his hazy mind tell himself such thoughts. He was almost in a state of bliss, the pain edging away as his eyelids almost closed and overall going blank. If it wasn't for the monster that narrowly avoided Koisplash, he might have not waken up at all.

Yelping, he jerked out of the way, only to be unfortunately reminded that he couldn't go anywhere because of his legs. A fresh stream of blood poured out of the many wounds as he screeched from the new flood of pain.

Realizing that Heartpool had left, his heart sank and he twitched again. Not hearing that she had left to gather some herbs and medical supplies for him, Koisplash panicked and would've thrashed about if it wasn't for his injuries. She wouldn't have abandoned him, would she?! Even if she wasn't in love, she would still help a cat in need as a medicine cat-

Koisplash sighed with relief when the figure of Heartpool came into view again, with poppy seeds and some matierals for a splint. Doing his best to stay awake, he wearily waved his tail in a way to say hello.

"Thank you... I thought you left me... I thought...." He was too tired to complete his sentence, but he took the seeds readily. Cringing at their bitter taste, he repeated to himself that they were to make the pain go away.

What he said was different from what Heartpool did however. When she handled his leg to set the bone right, he clenched down on the seeds so tight that juices came out, along with some blood from his mouth. He refused to shed another tear, nor cry out in pain.

Panting, he made himself look at Heartpool in the eye to calm himself. "I... I... I have to get up... Have to..."

Slowly, Koisplash pushed up from his front paws, the presence of the grey medicine cat giving him strength. He wobbled a bit, but he could stand up on two mildly wounded, one severely injured, and one broken leg.

"... Lead the way..."

Koisplash perked up slightly at Heartpool's mention of a dream, but he was using all his strength to keep himself awake and standing. His mouth couldn't form the words to ask about it, he was so tired he'd have to ask later...

Numerous times the tom almost blacked out on the trip to Shadowclan. Though he wasn't as close to Starclan as on the Thunderpath, he could still feel some life ebbing away, only to be brought back by the scent of Heartpool. He clung to her like she was his only line to this world. No. Not like. Is. If it wasn't for the timely arrival of the grey tabby, he would be crowfood all the way back there. She helped Koisplash onto his feet, gave him the support to walk him back to her den, to recovery...

His heart raced faster as they stepped into the den. Thankfully, Larksparrow and Starpelt weren't around. It would stall off the inevitable trouble that was bound to happen when the two other medicine cats arrive.

Koisplash remained silent as Heartpool helped him onto some moss and she scuttled off for herbs. This time, he was able to keep her in sight, which prevented another panic attack. In fact, the knowledge that she was gathering the best herbs and cobwebs to help him calmed him down. He did not whimper at all when she applied some web onto the scratches and bruises.

Heartpool was still very beautiful... No matter that she had gotten all dirty by dragging him and messing up the careful order of the herbs. If he didn't look as closely, Koisplash could imagine her with wings and stars in her pelt, like a guardian angel from Starclan...

She looked at the medicine cat that barged through the doors, a sign from starclan maybe that starpelt would be their savoir. She looked at the she cat for a few moments then shook her head.

"Well... i set the leg back on thunderpath after giving him some poppy seeds, Ive been trying to keep cobweb on the wounds but we are running out and im" She looked back to her herbs and then looked at koisplash. "Im putting Marigold on his wounds then horsetail... and then if its really bad.... some goldenrod..."

Nodding a few times she looked at Starpelt... "He needs to be ok..." A trusted sentence. She was trusting the medicine cat a big feat for any cat. SHe pushed her nose into the medicine cats shoulder and turned back to the horse tail and began putting it on the leg wound. The others could wait...they wouldnt infect... not likely anyway and they were down on horsetail...trhey would use it all but fix the main problem then worry about the others.

Littleclouds words came back full flash. She turned and took the cobwebs off her tail and began laying a few across the leg. The mound grew higher, whiter. She spread them lightly and the stuck to his long fur. "Koisplash... Koisplash... your going to be alright." She nodded and turned to look at Starpelt. "Thank You" She knew the medicine cat had helped somehow... she was so caught up in her work she h ad no clue how but she had helped...

"I can stay with him if you dont want to... stay with a riverclan cat." She honestly didnt want the she-cat to leave. Something inside her told her it would be alright.

After dozing off for a couple of minutes, Koisplash opened his black eyes to see not only Heartpool, but two other Shadowclan cats around him?!

Immediately, from instincts, he tried to scurry anyway. But the fierce jolt of pain from his broken leg reminded him of what happened. He was lucky to be here, in the medicine den, instead of out there being crow-food.

Even though they probably noticed the slight scuffling and the muffled hiss from him, Koisplash closed his eyes into slits and pretended to be still asleep. The last trip to the Moonstones wasn't pleasant, partially because of that white and brown she cat. Larksparrow. Who was right beside him, probably wondering what in Starclan happened and why was there a Riverclan cat in here.

He didn't want to 'wake up' and have his ears bitten off by that venomous feline. And he didn't want to fall asleep again and try his luck even further. So Koisplash had to resign to just laying there, listening to the conversation and ignoring the pain from his injuries. Which unfortunetly was harder now that he was conscious.

Larksparrow nodded as Heartpool listed the treatments she had begun, suppressing the urge to swat the other medicine cat between the ears for even pondering the idea that she would turn away a cat in this desperate of need. The last thing anyone needed was her loosing her cool.

"A little poppyseed probably was a good idea, since having him completely unconscious on your walk home wouldn't have done you any good, but at this point if he blacks out it might be better for him," Larksparrow mewed with a wince. "The cobwebs'll on his leg are soaking through quickly so we should change them pretty soon, I don't want them getting caught in the wound when the blood dries, but the ones on the smaller scratches can wait until tomorrow for a change."

A long string of vine caught the white medicine cat's eye, and she quickly deduced how it had been used. Quick thinking, but a more permanent split was in order now. "If one of the warriors could find a nice flat piece of bark to use as another splint it will keep him from accidentally moving if he shifts in his sleep. Otherwise just get some thyme out in case he goes into shock, but Starclan willing we won't need to use it."

"Clean moss wouldn't hurt either, then new bloodscent will tell us a wound has been reopened. Right now there's so much in this den it might not be that obvious."

Koisplash dared to open one eye and caught the sight of the piece of bark. Being a medicine cat himself, he knew what Larksparrow was going to use them for. And it was going to hurt. But it had to be done for his leg to get better, at least, that's what he told the unfortunate cats that had to have a splint themselves.

He didn't say anything, and just watched Heartpool build a nest for him. Like a bird. He would've snickered at the thought of her being a bird, but he was in no mood for laughing.

Knowing that he had to get up and wander over to the new bed of moss, Koisplash still couldn't find the strength to lift himself up. The day's event has been draining, and he felt like going to sleep again, for a second time.

He had to though. Moving at a pace of a slug, he made his way over to the nest and only managed to get himself half on before a jolt of pain shot through him and he stumbled over.

No sound came from his throat though. The tom wanted to preserve what dignity he had left.
