What do you all think about interracial or mixed race relationships?
Is it bilbically okay?
Do you think it's wrong, or harmful for the child when they have parents from two different cultures or "races"?
What about adoption? Can a "white" family raise a Indonesian child? Could a Japanese family properly raise an African child?
It's okay to have questions and opinons. Let's discuss!

At my church last Sunday a woman gave a testimony relating to this very subject. She grew up in segregated America, somewhere in the near the south. She's a white woman from a family that was very much filled with the Holy Spirit. She was saying that her family had a long history of being able to withstand trials by the help of Jesus Christ. Anyway, she went on to talk about her husband, a black man named Toby, who was very much hated for being black in a segregated south. When he was a teenager, he was beaten by police for being a black teenager at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Later on in both of their lives, they were brought together by the Lord God. Of course, because they were a couple of mixed race, they were rejected by both of thier peoples. Yet, they grew in love from and of Jesus and stayed together. Jesus brought them through tough times. Yet, they remained together.
Then they had children. People told them they'd have troubles for being hlaf black anf half white, which happened. They were indeed hated by a lot of poeple.
Her testimony ended in this way: Now they are in college and studying....I forgot what. But they are doing well, and indeed, by the power of God and of Jesus, they are withstanding.
My thought, both biblically and from testimonies I have seen or heard, it is good if it is God given. Like all marriages, if God made it, it will stand and be blessed.

All are the same under the eyes of God. A person can raise a child proper if they strong of will and know when to wield their rod, or guide them with a gentle hand. Kindness and love are things all know, and when one is raised with that, they can grow to be something wonderful, no matter who raises them.

Me and the 'husband' would be considered inter-racial and the Lord has made it clear to both of us and those who look after us spiritually that this is His doing. I have to say 'considered' because he's white and I'm black.. (I think...). Of course you don't call him white to his face, he'll deny it... xD

We're all the same under God's watch, no matter what race we may be from, or what culture we grew up from, if it's what God had set out for us, then let and inter-racial relationship behold us?
I think I'm using the right terminology....I'm not perfect with words....
Anywho, I am a product of an inter-racial marriage, as my mom's black and my dad's white. So, to me, there's nothing wrong with inter-racial relationships. If it is blessed by God, then it must be okay with him, no?

To support this biblically, you see what Jesus thought of interracial children by how He treated the Samaritans: like His own, He loved them, He cared for them, He healed them, even revealed secrets that most didn't know about Him until much later in His minstry.

Hmmm....furthermore, I think that Jesus HIMSELF was part of a lineage that has had interracial marriage. In His bloodline, you find Ruth and Rahab, who are not jewish, but members of other races....
Huh. Is God against interracial marriage? No way, His own Son is part of a lineage that has intteracial marriage.

I hope you have someone who loves God and wants to grow closer to God with You. You are both "grafted into Israel." May you find immense joy in your relationship.

I hope you have someone who loves God and wants to grow closer to God with You. You are both "grafted into Israel." May you find immense joy in your relationship. Amen. In the name of Jesus. Amen. Recently I found out that in Number 12:1 Moses married a Cushite woman. In most bible translations Cushite is translated Ethiopian. This should bring up a great point for what our brother S3C-Pastor Matt just said. Moses would not have married the Cushite woman if she'd not accepted the LORD. And God certainly would not of approved that as well....on the SOLE ground that she didn't believe in the LORD. She MUST have been a believer in God and that's why Moses married her. When Aaron and Mariam opposed Moses for this, God got angry at them, and cursed Mariam with leporsy that turned her flesh white. God FOR SURELY isn't against interracial marriage or the children. At my new church, there are TONS of children who have parents of different races. They LOVE Jesus. SO MUCH. And Jesus loves them. He adores them! heart This is also made evident by the Samaritan people and Jesus love and outreach to them in the Gospel of John. Praise our Lord and God WHo loves all people, and His children are all His, no matter what.

This is a great topic for owning your faith. Its easy to read into the Bible on this issue and prove your theology is correct. But the reality is that this matter is disputable, and should be settled in each person's heart. There is so much debate over Moses, but MoC lays it down straight. Judge by the fruit. If christian interracial couples are following Christ and training up their kids in the ways of God, how can anyone in Christ hate on that? smile

I've been looking into this whole thing for a while because of some certain spiritual attacks I am facing. The Bible never ever condemns anybody for reasons of race (such a bad term to use to distinguish people, if you think about it) or anything like that. People in Jesus' geneology are children of interracial marriage. God is not against it, because we're all His children.
