Well in America (for sure, and maybe other countries) there was this BIG strike where the writers of all your favorite TV shows decided to, well strike.
It ruined so many of my favorite shows! I'm soo happy that it's over! (Well I'm not sure if it's official yet, but it should be)

Did the Writer's Strike affect you??
Are you happy it's over??

Now I can enjoy new episodes regularly (when the season starts again)
of The Game, Medium, and South Park. How's that for variety?

I am very happy that the writer's strike is over. I feared very much my TV being overun with reality shows and gameshows (though I enjoy both, in small quantities). I want my Ghost Whisperer back! And all the Law & Orders, CSI etc. I like the crime shows. smile

I'm excited, I hope Heroes will come back soon. *grins*

I haven't been too affected by the strike just yet. The only show I watch is LOST and it just came back a couple of weeks ago. These writers need to get their butts in gear though, b/c as of right now it's only an eight episode season, and that's a problem.

I agree. I done gone be wantin' mah shows, n' them there lil' money grubbin' hogs be wantin' ta earn themselves a fair and decent wage is cuttin' in on mah TV time! They's gettin' paid more than a McDonald's employee, so what they gripin' about, anyway? I'm a workin' man myself, and I do understand why them there writers might be wantin' a bit more monies to take home to the barn every night, but dag-nabbit, I have my rights! I expect to come home at the end of the day and watch The OC and by darnit they's been keepin' from that. I oughts ta cross over them picket lines and write me my own scripts. Then we'll see who's strikin'.

Well my shows that got put on hold were private practice, grey's anatomy, and ugly betty. I love the docter shows and ugly betty is just funny most of the time. So I'm glad!

Why, yes, I have been affected by the WGA strike and am very glad it's over, thank you for asking!

However, now that the strike has ended, I probably won't be spending as much time here on gaia or writing the HP fanfiction that I started because I needed a creative outlet. I don't think Managers appreciate it when you write for free on the internets. After all, 15% of nothing is (Does maths in head) Nothing.

Oh, well. I'll at least try to make my five posts a month in here so you don't scourgefy me. sweatdrop

Seeing as I'm not a really big tv watching person, I can't say I've been very effected by the strike. Though I'm happy to know that they're finally reaching a settlement. Strikes are never fun.

I'm sooooo glad it's over. I was all in support of the strike, but I had hoped for a speedy resolution. Well, it wasn't speedy, but at least it's been resolved (and at least some of my favourite shows aren't American, so I didn't go crazy. Thanks, GB and Canada!)

Now I'm all curious. What shows have been dragged from the cold land o snow an the wet land o rain that you enjoy so much?

And, while it may not have been super quick, it was relatively quick, and the death count was low. That beats some strikes.

That depends on your definition of "death" rolleyes j/k

Yeah, I was going crazy not writing for so long, until I realized that because fanfiction can never be sold, it isn't covered! So, yeah, I built up my army of internet fangirls with my HP fanfiction. (Anneko, I know you're one of them! heart )

To Phil (you don't mind 'Phil', do you?): Stargate: Atlantis is done up in Vancouver and didn't seem to suffer strikeitis at all, and I also watch Torchwood-- I used to watch Doctor Who, but I've only seen one episode all the way through since Rose has been gone, and I saw that one because of Shakespeare (it had some Harry Potter mentions in it, though, which was fantastic). There's probably more I'm forgetting... I know a lot of old shows I like are Canadian in origin, but they've all fallen under the axe (like The Sentinel), relocated to America (like Monk, but I think they only *filmed* in Canada, as opposed to also being written by Canadian writers...), or both (The X-Files, but that one jumped the shark...)

To DaBonster: One of them? One of them? Madam, I am their supreme commander. I am Tiger First Class of DaBonster's Fangirl Army, Alpha Squadron HyperforceGo!.

That's our full name now. I just made it up. It's subject to change.

Wow, sorry for the huge quote pyramid... I'll try not to do that again sweatdrop

"What the strike is over?? Aww man!! Just as I came up with a good plan to write for the shows myself and get a piece of that 'Hollywood' pie! I am in 1/2 agreement with Phil, they get paid more than someone making minimum wage, and don't need to be striking!! Hell they get paid more than me!!! And I work for a Bank where all the money is at! Darn it I hate that I was too late to steal their jobs from them at 1/2 the cost.....well maybe 25% pay cut not really half I do need to be able to live and L.A. and surrounding areas are very expensive places to live.

I like Severus love my crime shows, and was getting pretty preturbed that CSI: Miami, and NCIS were showing repeats! That stunk, thank goodness Smallville and Supernatural didn't do that! razz

Yeah, I hated it. I don't watch a lot of tv, and the few shows I did watch were the ones the strike screwed up. Like Moonlight, House, and Two and a Half Men.
