Personally, I'd like to see (no pun intended), and it would probably make more sense if Toph gained sight. It makes more sense because of the healing water with special properties. If it could bring back Aang, I dont see why it couldn't heal Toph's eyesight. Although, it could be a stretch.

I just think it would be sweet if the first thing Toph saw was Sokka =)

Toph being a bender would destory her Earth bending technique. When a person has a loss of an ability, their other senses increase. I think her style of bending is really suited to her disability and her skill, and I think her personality would also be affected if she could see.

Sokka being a bender would be hella funny. He and Aang could have some fun coming up with weird water bending moves like the octopus one. I also think that he would be more likely to use blood bending if the situation called for it.

If I had to see one, I'd have to say Sokka bending, but I don't think I'd want to see either.

As has been stated, Toph's blindness is so much a part of who she is that she just wouldn't be Toph if she could see. It makes her bending stronger, as it does to the also-blind badger-moles.

Now, Sokka bending would be cool, and though it wouldn't ruin his character, it would still be a bad story decision. There have been a lot of episodes to show how Sokka can hold his own without bending. He's become stronger as a non-bender, and giving him bending powers would just make episodes like Sokka's Master completely moot.

I dont really know, but I would most likely want to see Sokka bend..because if Toph begins to see again, than wont that make her be a less good earthender? that is just me I guess though sweatdrop

First of all Toph was born blind. As in her blindness is inherent, meaning there is nothing to heal. Not only that but the blind aspect not only serves as a greater part of her character's strength, but also as a running gag in the series. Giving her sight would destroy something of her and Sokka's relationship as a whole.

Sokka bending would also destroy a certain aspect of his character. First of all throughout the series we've seen him as a warrior that doubts the magical world around him. It would be ironic if he were to suddenly gain the ability to bend. We also see a very capable warrior, with his expert use in a myriad of weapons, what would this do to his weapon use which is a favorite part of his character.

Sokka's skepticism + Him becoming a Bender = Fail

I basically agree with most everyone else on this one - if I had to pick, it would be Sokka bending, but I wouldn't like that much either neutral
