Welcome to...
The OFFICIAL GMFC Hiring Thread!
That's right, we're looking for a few good artists to help realize the Gaian dream: Babies. Lot and lot of babies.
No. Seriously.
But really, we're looking for fresh talent to help give this clinic a much-needed kick in the pants and breathe new life into the age-old tradition which is the Gaia Maternity and Fertility Clinic.
Interested? HOLD ON, SPARKY. Please make sure to read the entire thread and make sure that we are accepting applications before jumping up and down and saying "OOH OOH PICK ME!"
Thank you for the consideration, and we hope to see you as a member of the family! heart

How it Works "How what works?" You might ask. Well, are we glad you thought about asking! This post details exactly how the new structure of Art and Growths will work for future appointments! STEP ONE:Future parent purchases an appointment, be it through flatsale, auction, or event. Payment is sent to the GMFC mule. STEP TWO:Parent sends growth form to the GMFC mule. The mule will, in turn, post the form in a staff forum dedicated to the artists. STEP THREE:Someone, anyone from the artist team volunteers to take the stage for which the growth form is posted. STEP FOUR:Art is completed, and the artist is paid a set fee based on the funds currently in the GMFC mule. STEP FIVE:Repeat the process when another growth form comes in! In plain english, this means that future appointments will be done by a team of floating artists. You do as much or as little art as you are capable of (But please, be reasonable), and you are paid for the art that you do. If you need a break, take a break. If, for some reason, you are unable to continue with the shop, it's okay to resign. And what this means for PARENTS is that there will hopefully ALWAYS be someone to complete your growths in a timely fashion. This is just a general overview; we'll be happy to clarify any points and answer questions either in the shop, or in this thread.

The Nitty Gritty! This post will cover exactly what a staff artist will be responsible for, and what exactly WE will be responsible for. As an artist, you are responsible for:- Delivering art within a timely fashion - Volunteering only for what you can handle - Being fair to the other artists, ie: not snapping up every growth form the second it comes in - Giving it your all! 4laugh As managers, WE are responsible for:- Posting growth forms as quickly as we can - Ensuring the payment rate stays updated - Delivering payment in a timely fashion - Mediating disputes before getting the Mods involved - Ensuring the system runs smoothly and efficiently. How payment works:Say, for example, there are five appointments, A, B, C, D, and E, totaling N gold. Half of the gold goes to the managers (25% each), leaving a total pot of N/2 (Which we'll call P). This is divided by the current number of appointments multiplied by seven (as there are seven stages in a GMFC appointment). Since, in this hypothetical situation, there are five appointments, the payment PER STAGE will be P/35. This will ensure that, be it flatsale or auction, every appointment will get the same priority.

Application (modified from Kamiki's original Guest Artist Application) Please use the form provided to apply; applications are to be posted directly in this thread. We won't accept applications in progress! If we see an incomplete application, it will be DELETED. If we choose to hire you, we will contact you through PM, unless you've provided an alternate means of contact that you would prefer. So, really, this is a case of "Don't call us; we'll call you." Feel free to add any other thoughts - make gold - improve my artwork - it looks like fun - to support the GMFC - to get my name out there/increase exposureYes, we're curious as to why you want to draw for the shop. Don't be afraid to BE HONEST.Please link (text or thumbnails only) to at least THREE IMAGES that represent the quality/style of art you would draw for the GMFC. Please do not link to artwork you spent 120 hours on when you would not put that much time/effort into every peice you do for the GMFC. These images must be comparable to the type and style of the images you would submit for GMFC artwork. THIS IS A SEPERATE QUESTION FROM THE EXAMPLES BELOW - below you may use sketches or complete pieces because we're looking for your style. For THIS QUESTION we want images that represent the kind of time/effort/style you would put forth in this shop.Example of a adult/teen woman: Example of an adult/teen man: Example of a child: Example of an animal or anthro (optional):These don't have to be completed pieces; either sketches OR completed pieces are fine. While you'd be able to pick and choose which appointments you'd work on, we would like to see how versatile you are. Is there anything you'd be uncomfortable drawing?: If you're uncomfortable with same-sex couples or have a difficult time drawing anthros, mecha, elf ears, etc., please list them here. This will NOT hurt your chances of being hired. How long does it take you to complete a finished piece of artwork? How interested are you in becoming active in the GMFC in NON-ART ways? [ie: roleplaying as a doctor persona, interacting with people IC, helping with events, or simply sitting around and chatting? This will NOT hurt your chances of being hired, but it IS something we would like to see.

I've made the anthro, bobtail, cherub, pixie, lop-ear, and luck lines/templates for the shop, and run/managed many events for the shop aside from just coloring. Feli Playgrounds - At one point I was 2nd in command, but now I am mainly just a colorist. Shop is relatively inactive at the moment though. Elder Spark - I am still a relatively new hire at the shop, but my job is as colorist. I am responsible for coloring pets, where the adult stage requires moderate edits each time. Still getting my feet wet so to speak xD Why are you wanting to do art for the GMFC? Select all that apply. Feel free to add any other thoughts:__ make gold __ improve my artwork __ it looks like fun __ to support the GMFC __ to get my name out there/increase exposure _ X ALL OF THE ABOVE ('nuff said xp ) Please link (text or thumbnails only) to at least THREE IMAGES that represent the quality/style of art you would draw for the GMFC. [X][X][X] - NOTE: Nudity, so maturity filter is on. Tis just a personal favorite xD Example of a adult/teen woman:[X][X] - There are 3 adult women on here... enjoy? xD [X]Example of an adult/teen man: [X] - Nudity, maturity filter is on. [X] - There are 4 adult men on here... so... um... yey? xD Example of a child: [X][X][X]Example of an animal or anthro (optional): [X] - Nudity, maturity filter is on. [X][X]Is there anything you'd be uncomfortable drawing?: I'll try anything, but I will say mecha is not something I usually am groovy with xD How long does it take you to complete a finished piece of artwork? I'm a person who likes to get things done in one straight shot... I can only ue my recent unique lined kitsu commishes as an idear... but if I have the person online and working with me, I could probably have it done in about 3-4 hours? Background would add a little more time, but I'd say if I had interruptions, maybe a week at longest? How interested are you in becoming active in the GMFC in NON-ART ways? Me + chatting = okay? I don't think I'd want an NPC role though, since I do a lot of that already in another shop ;O

Please link to all breedables or art/commission shops you've ran on Gaia: 1. A little pixel art type kitsune shop. Don't have the link anymore XD friggin 2004... Gave away. First shop so I totally overloaded myself~ XD 2. BKAC Reopening 3. Obsessions Closed... I think lack of interest. XD 4. Ai'shiteru Closed due to the fact I'm horrible with line art. XD 5. Eclipse Ruins Quit due to conflicts with coworkers. Which shall go unsaid... >__> 6. Oneirophobia Closed due to lack of interest. Started it then kinda went "Eh this isn't working for me" 7. Destiny Revamp of an old shop (in progress... a slow progress.) 8. Maban mabwysiad Currently working~ 9. Mew Mew Cafe Currently working on closing due to troubles with keeping the RP active. (More detail available upon request~) 10. GMFC Guest artist 11. D-corp My main shop! XD *loves on D-corp* 12. Adulthule Guest artist 13. Digimon_Virus protection Currently working
Why are you wanting to do art for the GMFC? - make gold - improve my artwork - it looks like fun - to support the GMFC - to get my name out there/increase exposure Extras: - I've been a guest artist and enjoyed it~ - I lovelovelove the science of genetics. XD Its what first interested me in becoming an artist ever because... You get to decide how the kid turns out in most. Which is so much fun to me. XD - I've wanted to since way back in the day when I first saw it! <3 I used to like the gold idea too but... I get alot from D-corp now, so not so much anymore. XD - Its nice to get a change in shop sceneries~ working with couples and pregnancies and all that is different than my norm. X3 - And lastly, I think the workload won't be huge since there are other artists around. I mean.. compared to D-corp where I do all the art this is a breeze. XD
Please link (text or thumbnails only) to at least THREE IMAGES that represent the quality/style of art you would draw for the GMFC. Best example would be D-corp~ So here's (some of) the most recent of those. XD [x] Toddler [X] Teen [x] Toddler
Example of a adult/teen woman: [x] [x] Example of an adult/teen man: [X] [x][X] [Coupleish image~] Example of a child: [x][X] Example of an animal or anthro (optional): [x]
Is there anything you'd be uncomfortable drawing?: I have nothing at the moment... Though I HATEHATEHATE drawing wings. XD I CAN but... I don't like to DX Unless they're little tiny nonfunctioning wings. <3 Those are cute. >w> but fullbody ones... ew~
How long does it take you to complete a finished piece of artwork? There is the issue of the whole workload problem "first come first serve" deals... but, I've devised a way to keep that from overwhelming me again so even if a forms sent right after I open some other growth slots in D-corp, it shouldn't be over a month. And without that it can be from that weekend, or a few weeks, depending on where I get my muse to kick me into doing it.
How interested are you in becoming active in the GMFC in NON-ART ways? I do like the idea of a doctor persona... But... I don't want to have a serious RP commitment. I've been having so much RP block lately. XD But I'm not opposed to it if my schedule permits. <3 ~Also I want to note... For my growths could it be possible to get a "personality" section to the growth sheet? I find getting a personality in mind really helps me get into the character and draw the best. X3 Thankyou muchly!

Anywhere from under 24 hours to a month, probably? Depends on my enthusiasm for the art, and my other workloads. Though if my enthusiasm is high I'd probably just end up working on it anyway to procrastinate on other less enthusiastic work. XD;; How interested are you in becoming active in the GMFC in NON-ART ways? I don't mind RPing if I have time... But a lot of my time is taken up working on artwork or taking a break from artwork (usually watching anime or reading manga.). Chatting however is perfectly fine. 8D As long as I remember to go in the thread(sometimes forget to due to have so many subscribed threads...). I think thats all.... This will NOT hurt your chances of being hired. Mech or Cyborg. And pure animals are hard for me as well. How long does it take you to complete a finished piece of artwork? Barring unforseen accidents, I usually take a week to three weeks. How interested are you in becoming active in the GMFC in NON-ART ways? [ie: roleplaying as a doctor persona, interacting with people IC, helping with events, or simply sitting around and chatting? This will NOT hurt your chances of being hired, but it IS something we would like to see. I don't mind rping but I'm pretty behind on my kids as it is so it would be rather sporadic. I wouldn't mind hanging around and chatting in the thread though.

Gaia Username: tooaya Art Gallery Link: DAGaia Join Date: late 04. Alternate E-Mail: llg300@yahoo.com AIM Name: none, I don't use AIM NOTE: If you must reach me, E-mail and IM are the WORST choices. I rarely check my e-mail, and I don't go onto IM unless I'm told to. Gaia pm (and, if you have a DA account, note on DA) are the best choices. As long as I have internet access, I check Gaia everyday and practically live on DA, so those two places are the best places to find me.Please link to all breedables or art/commission shops you've ran on Gaia: Even if they are closed/not currently active. If you have never run a shop, if you can please list approx. how many commissions or gifts you've drawn for Gains, if any.A LOT. I like to hog works to myself, so I'm not even gonna bother listing all the ones that are dead. >_> owner of SSoS and TotMC. Artist hired by Heralds, Life Dust, and Moonstruckguest artists at several and retired from several. Several are inactive. -_-; Why are you wanting to do art for the GMFC? Select all that apply. Feel free to add any other thoughtsX - make goldX - improve my artworkX - it looks like fun- to support the GMFC- to get my name out there/increase exposureYes, we're curious as to why you want to draw for the shop. For THIS QUESTION we want images that represent the kind of time/effort/style you would put forth in this shop.[1] [2] [3]Example of a adult/teen woman: [x]Example of an adult/teen man: [x]Example of a child: [x] (orz old)Example of an animal or anthro (optional):...I suck at drawing animals. -_-; These don't have to be completed pieces; either sketches OR completed pieces are fine. While you'd be able to pick and choose which appointments you'd work on, we would like to see how versatile you are.

animals, furry, extreme anthro, old people, overly muscular people, fat people, mecha, backgrounds (does that even matter? *shot* )
How long does it take you to complete a finished piece of artwork?
If I'm actually motivated to start drawing it, 3-6 hours (for quality to be used for B/C shops).

lol, no. *shot* Drawing, helping people, seeing people appreciate my works are what I enjoy. I'm not a conversationalist, and I'm lazy, so if you hire me, don't expect to see me chatting in the thread. I belong to the lurker's club.
