By now I'm sure everyone has heard the sad news. I am comforted by knowing that he is with our Father in Heaven and Jesus. I am very sure that he will have had a very warm welcome on the other side by many souls who honor him. I thought everyone would like to make note of how they remember President Hinckley best and not just lament on his passing.

I, gained a great love for him on my mission. As I taught people of our living prophet today and bore my testimony of him day after day I truly came to see him as a dear family member. I feel that way about all the General Authorities, but especially for President Hinckley. He had such a warm and welcoming attitude towards everyone regardless of their faith or testimony. I love that he loved the youth so much. He always carried them in great esteem and saw unlimited potential in our young men and young women. He never saw them as meer teenagers which I'm afraid adults are prone to do at times, but he truly valued each and every one of them. He taught me to that everyone I meet has value and greatness inside somewhere no matter how hidden it may seem to be. Even those who are not of our faith or who have slipped from the faith have unmatched worth and value. I will personally miss that great man. Our little old world doesn't know what it's lost.

I remember going to Church Conference in SLC. And President Hinckley came out waving his cane, his arm holding his wife . He even bopped his counselors on the head.

At the end of conference, he paused long enough to collect his wife.

I remember how impressed I was with that simple curtesy.

On youtube the LDSpublicaffairs channel has a video for him.

when I got the news, I was shocked but I knew it was true. I felt peace and I had a feeling the he was happy to be with his wife and be able to see his friends and family. I knelt with my mother and we prayed for the apostles and for President Monson.

The funeral of our Prophet starts in 15 minutes. I am not going, but, like many of you I am going to watch it on television. Yesterday (and the day before's) viewing looked to be quite a spectacle. People were in line in the cold for hours just to see the body of President Hinckley. I admit that held no appeal to me. Not the way I say goodbye. But I hope it brought them solace.

A friend of mine is related to the Hinckleys and they have the most beautiful video on their blog. It shows their "Grandpa Hinckley" in family pictures and it is very touching (although one made me giggle hard! SHIRTLESS PROPHET!!! xd ) I will share the link, but I will ask you to not make comments on their personal blog as it is for their family. 3nodding Remembering Grandpa Hinckley...

President Gordon B. Hinckley, we heart you and will miss you. You personify Christ-like love and good cheer!

His funeral services were lovely, especially the video tribute at the end - here's a link to the Church Broadcast website, if you and your families would like to watch it:

I really miss him. I wish he had'nt died, but at least he's with his wife and lots of family.
Ohh, I just realized something odd. I was headed to a baptism about the time he died. eek What a wacky coincidence.
