The ending was so unsatisfying.
It was just 'what the a**' from the time it decides to chomp on Hudson.
I guess they set it up well for a sequel though.

Actually, it was amazing. I'm a film student. I say it looked amazing. Your friend is a lying sack of s**t. mad
Cloverfield was awesome on every aspect of the word awesome.
It was shot "POV" style. And the lighting was GORGEOUS. And the acting was great. And the story was captivating. And I liked the ending; and I liked when they cut between the coney island video and the cloverfield video. So haters can stfu. mad

Kalebface Anyone who enjoyed how that movie ended has brain AIDS.
Aleda, I'm sorry to break it to you. Why? It was perfect story-wise. It wasn't an action-oriented ending. It was story oriented. It made complete sense for it to end that way.

Think about it, you're seeing the movie from the perspective of several average Joe New Yorkers.
We know what they know and nothing else.
The ending made sense, but that doesn't mean that it was a MAJOR cliffhanger that pissed a lot of people off. Everyone was looking for the "OMG KILL THA MONSTAR!!!1!" ending, and all they got was rubble covering a camera and two "I love you"s.

It wasn't even about killing the monster.
I wanted to know what the hell it was or where it came from.
They didn't explain what happened to the people bitten by the monster spawn.
And it just seemed anticlimactic.
Oh and when the camera guy got thrashed around, and then dropped and his buddies were like "OMG WTF" and grabbed the camera was lame.

There's gonna be a sequel. Also, I hate when movies are expository and are like "THIS HAPPENED FOR THIS REASON AND THAT AND THIS CAME FROM THAT AND THIS IS WHY WE'RE LIKE THIS". It's just like... augh. Leave a little mystery would 'ya? D: I hate that the average movie goer needs everything handed to them on a golden platter. It's like... figure it out yourself.

I disliked the twenty minutes of footage in the beginning that wasn't even important back story. Obviously some was fine for it to be realistic and believable....but most was just unneeded. D:
And the characters...you didn't become attached to them. Like when that girl blew up...ugh. I felt nothing. She was a b***h anyway. Only person I felt remotely remorseful for was our camera guy. (See, I don't even remember their names!)

I'm not the type who wants everything explained to me.
But when nothing at all is explained, I just get pissed off.
Its like "OH LOOK WE HAVE MONEY AND SPECIAL EFFECTS LOOK A MONSTER" and then they hope we don't notice any of what looked to me like huge plot holes. neutral
