"DANIEL! Up and at 'em! Lazy bones!" Kimo was shouting at Daniel's house. He was waving from the driveway at his window. Right before dawn.

It was a scene that the Hooper household had gotten used to in the past several years. Kimo had really become a good family friend, and invested a lot of time into his little surfer-pal.

Today, Kimo had no surfboard though. Just a car, with some hispanic up in the front seat, and two italian girls sitting in the back. Kimo ran around and opened the passenger's side, "Get OUT, Diego. This isn't your seat. This is for the wailua."

"I'm not being replaced by a kid. Besides, he should give Domani the company."

"Get out before we drown you."

"Leave me alone before I before I ground you."

"My wailua is not sitting in the back with your inferior what's-'ems."

"I'm not sitting back with my inferior what's-'ems, and I'm not moving for your even more inferior ground goop! Leave me alone!" Diego made the sand under Kimo move and come to smack him in the chest.

Kimo slammed the door on Diego's fingers...or would have if he didn't move quick enough. He jumped back around the car, "Wailua!" He complained, "Diego says you're inferior, so you have to sit in the back," He opened the back door behind him, "But their opinion, and the position you have to take, means nothing next to the truth, yeah?" He winked, the whole time grinning, "You remember Domani and Elisa, from the airport the other day. They're not a part of this, but Diego can't keep his hands off our turf. Might as well see what a ground evolved is really worth." He snorted. Nothing next to his fire boy, that was for sure.

They were going to the house of a man who Daniel had actually first pointed out to Kimo. He'd done something AWFUL to an evolved girl, and then had been let FREE despite the fact that he shouldn't still be roaming this planet. So, Kimo and Daniel had been planning to make it clear that he was NOT just getting out free, and he was GOING to pay, and if he tried it AGAIN, he was going to regret it for the rest of his life. It was a simple thing, really. Go in, terrorize, scare him just enough to make him think his life was in danger, then go out. They'd done it before. They'd pulled pranks doing similar things before. Shoot, Daniel had pulled that prank on Kimo before. It would go easily.

OOC: Super quick introduction NOT edited...I might fix it up later, unless you two think it's good.

Daniel went for his alarm madly. How was he supposed to get a good night's sleep if his clock went berserk? Smacking vainly at the object in question, he turned over. His half-open eyes glared at the clock as his hand grabbed it and pulled it up to his ear. The din that he had sworn had come from his misadjusted alarm hadn't been coming from it after all. He sat up abruptly and stared out the window. If it wasn't his alarm...

Kimo was there! Right, today was the day they were going out to take care of that guy from the news. As usual, he could count on Kimo to wake him up before the alarm even got the chance. Flying out of his bed and to the window, Daniel opened it quickly and leaned out. "I'll be down in a sec! Don't leave without me!" Though he doubted the other would, he yelled it regardless. He didn't put it past Kimo to roll slowly out of the driveway just to taunt him a bit before they left.

He quickly threw on a shirt and jeans and ran out his door. If his family had any complaints about his early-morning trip, they kept quiet. Sliding down the banister, the Fire Evo turned around the stairs once he reached the bottom. He managed to pull one of his shoes on before reaching the door. He opened the door before hopping toward the car and putting on his second shoe.

The teen came in through the open door. "He won't be thinking that for long!" He laughed. "If you really want to tag along, Diego, you should probably be a little nicer." Even if he should have been respectful to the other Evo, he continued to joke around with him. "Oh, right. Good to see you again, you two." He smiled to the two others also present in the car. Apparently they were making a friendly gathering out of their fun little outing. The more people that came along, the more witnesses there would be to the amusement.

Domani waited in the back seat, her head being held up by her hand as she waited for the Hawaiian kid to wake up. She, personally, had been awake for hours but that was her body attempting to adjust itself to the timezone. Diego and Kimo seemed convinced that they had to bicker over who was going to get shotgun but, in Domani's opinion, if Daniel wanted shotgun, he'd be awake by now. She didn't really get the point of it but then again, she could count the times she'd ridden in a car on her two hands; Venice was a no-car city and she rarely travelled outside of it when she had lived there.

She slid over when Daniel finally came down and got squashed in the middle. "Ciao, Daniel. Nice to see you awake this morning," She joked, tapping her fingers on her cast and feeling all around useless. They were going to terrorize a man for terrorizing an Evo but she was not entirely certain how much terrorizing she would be capable of when she couldn't walk without limping. But Diego decided to bring her along so she was going to assume she had some part to play in this mission.

Let's get it on. Whenever Diego and Kimo decide to stop bickering and start the mission.

"Domani, lighten up," It was Elisa. She spoke quietly, in Italian, and smacked her lightly on the leg, "You are always so serious."

"I say we go for some breakfast," Kimo started in, his voice all too cheerful.

"Shut-up, ya loser." Diego snapped, "We get the job done now."

"Awh, my belly is empty, and I know Daniel's is. It's like a funnel, right out!"

"Then I hope he wears diapers, because we ain't stopping for food, and we ain't stopping for baby potty breaks."

"When we go in, it'll be me and Daniel at the front, and Elisa acting in back, and Diego is get away driver if we need it," The teasing never left Kimo's voice as he spoke. It put Elisa on edge, and she reached for Domani's hand to squeeze it. Diego was going to KILL Kimo.

Diego snorted, "I don't trust beach bums to the head of the job."

"Beach bums do it best! We're always getting into trouble and having to run off!"

"If ya'd do it right, you won't have to run. Ya need to put your training wheels back on."

"Awh, Daniel, do you hear how he runs us down all the time?" Kimo complained again, but then turned serious, "We've all seen the house layout, here's what---"

They went with Kimo's plan in the end. He set Diego and Elisa out with Daniel first - with the playful, but serious enough, warning that Diego was a hard-hitter and serious, Daniel would have to adjust to that style. Kimo would be near, backing them up if anything went wrong. Domani got to stay in the car. She was their ears, Kimo had explained with a laugh, she got to listen to their story after it was all over. Diego'd made his only comment there, grunting and wishing Domani luck. She'd have the toughest part, listening to the brainless babble of the beach bums. Kimo had chuckled at that. No, no. Daniel would have the hardest part, keeping Domani and Elisa away from him, because he could already see that they were just SWOONING over him... Elisa made a sick-look to Domani. That blonde-headed boy? Ew!

Then they were there, and it was time. Elisa to shift into the form of the little girl for added psychological effect, Diego and Daniel to do the light terrorizing to convince Mr. Johns not to EVER do that again. Kimo to take the back just in case someone woke up with a shot-gun or something. Domani to twiddle her thumbs in the car.

Was it clear as mud? Great, that was Diego's fault with all his dirt, Kimo had TRIED to make it better with the water mix, but Diego's presence just made a big mess... Diego snorted and took the lead by getting out of the car first, "Let's go, beach bums and Elisa."

OOC: Feel free to interject in the whole car conversation, I know I moved it along quickly (but I also know Kimo'd spend all day babbling about it and never getting around to it if I let him ^_^). The mood is light-hearted, Kimo never stops being cheerful, or teasing, or pretend-complaining. Diego's rough about it, but he's not rough in a negative sort of way, really. He's just not nearly as light hearted as Kimo is.

Domani adjusted herself with a small smile, trying to lighten up. It failed, "Sorry, Elisa. Just a little nervous right now." What if the plan messed up, after all, and she went from someone along for the ride to a liability. She gave herself a small shake to remove those thoughts from her head. Mess up? On such an easy mission? Just where could they mess up? They had the numbers on the guy and she truly doubted she'd be able to take on them all, even if she didn't use her damaged leg as some sort of bat (like that would happen. Ow).

She listened to them bicker for a little more, an irritated look appearing on her face. They were told to meet at that time and if they didn't eat already, their black hole stomachs would go and suck up the rest of them before she got hit. But if they were planning on running off from terrorizing someone who deserved it, she really doubted their capabilities. Unless they were, like, masochists or something. Her thoughts paused. That would be an amusing power to have.

She didn't really understand why Diego was wishing her luck because nothing could really go wrong, let alone for her. She would just sit in the car and make sure no cops drive by or something, she assumed. Their chatter was annoying but it was a simple enough task to ignore it, though right now it seemed Kimo was expressing way too much confidence in his trainee. Domani swoon? Let alone over Daniel, a boy she'd barely met? The thought was ridiculous. She rolled her eyes at Elisa before grinning.

Domani, before she heard the battle plan, was twiddling her thumbs in an attempt not to get carsick before looking up at her name. A quick, unsure smile, looking for all the world as if she understood less English than a tourist. "Good luck," She told Elisa and Diego when they headed out of the car. She looked at the blond boy, "Don't die," She said with much less care. Kimo, she didn't talk to, if only because he wasn't important to her like the first too or maybe incapable like the boy.

Upon finally making it to the car, Daniel momentarily looked down at the cast that his still-new acquaintance had on her leg. "I see you haven't changed a bit since yesterday. How long are you stuck in that thing again?" He wasn't even positive that he'd been told the day before, but it didn't hurt to ask. With her powers, until she was fully recovered, she was pretty much stuck on the sidelines. How boring. Daniel kept quiet as Kimo and Diego playfully argued with each other. He knew that whenever Diego would make some snark comment about either one, the water Evo would have his back. The only time he really chimed in was at the mention of food. "If the spoilsport doesn't want us to eat yet, we'll just have to get something on the way back." Kimo's occasional whining only earned a short laugh or two from him -by this time, he was used to it.

He listened to Kimo's plan in content silence. He'd had it described to him before, but never had it been in such detail. It sounded foolproof both time. Who cared if the guy could tell the police who they were. No one would believe someone like him, even if it was possible. As he left the car, Daniel heard Domani's only-slightly-caring voice behind him. He turned to her and smiled. "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind." He quickly caught up to Kimo and the others and followed his part of the plan.

Kimo allowed Daniel and Diego to go on. Diego dropped some of his big-bad act to allow Daniel to lead ahead. Sure, he'd staked the place out earlier, but Daniel would still be more familiar with the territory if only by being familiar with the cultural layout homes usually had. Somehow Daniel had become the one in the lead of this operation.

It was simple. They found their way to a corner of the house where a side door was. Diego shook the ground just enough to cause enough disruption in the small place to cause the man to come looking. Daniel was meant to surround him with fire. Diego would add by pulling the ground upwards from under the man. Just enough to scare. Just enough to make him see what a problem this was going to be. It was Diego, as the stranger to the country who knew the most English, that would be tossing in the threats to the man while "Tiff," Elisa, would be making her own appearance and making a few one-word remarks. Daniel was to keep quiet and out of sight. He lived there and didn't need to be recognized somehow. Not that it should. There was no reason for the wailua to ever encountered this creep.

Diego did his part, and the man played into it perfectly, running out to demand what stupid children were outside messing in his yard.

Kimo, hovering back, was close enough to see, but not really to hear. He may not have really had a part in all of this, but he was anticipating the results with nothing but eager expectation. There was no doubt in his mind that this would go well.

-----

Back further than that was Domani where she could see Kimo, but not the rest of the group. It was Domani who would catch sight of the motorcycle as it slowly came forward. The man was in a full helmet, and his clothes were all black and covered his skin. In Hawaii. Sure, the way he hopped off his motorcycle there in front of the house didn't make him look like he was dangerous or anything -- he looked like he was strolling up for a good time with a friend -- but he didn't remove his helmet nor his gloves.

They had company, and Domani knew it, and she had no way of telling anyone.

OOC: Daniel, no one's going to be aware of Photon's approach your next reply. wink Go on and surround that dude!

The idea to keep him in the shadows had definitely been a good one. Who knew what kind of grief this guy might give him if he saw the teen's face. As his face rested in dark anonymity, Daniel did what had been planned out. Once the man left the sancitity of his house, A ring of flames temporarily surronded the man. He pulled them up only a little ways above the man's head -although he was relatively neighborless, they couldn't afford someone calling the 911 because they seriously thought his house was on fire.

The Fire Evo stayed blissfully unaware of the approach of the stranger on the motorcycle. He had to keep his mind on the fire to keep it from escaping his control. The ring was large enough to cause a wildfire if it was allowed. His eyes stayed on the bottom to make sure it didn't spread along the ground. There was no way the higher parts of the fire could do much unless they caught a tree, but there were none nearby enough to pose a threat.

Domani's eyes widened. What should she do? Diego had just told her to make sure the car did not get stolen and she was fairly certain everyone believed that nothing could go wrong. Perhaps she didn't have her priorities straight but someone showing up in all black and striding up to the door seemed like something was going wrong.

What to do, what to do.... It was heavily implied by Diego that she had a habit of reacting badly when situations messed up, like with those two Evos in Italy. Not the best decision on her part. But what could she do? Limp up to him and start bashing him? Hardly. Yell for Kimo? It probably would give the three in the building enough time to react but this guy might bash Kimo before he could do anything. She could morph and make some animal noise but that would alert the guy just as much as yelling. She did not like feeling useless and this was one of those times.

She tried to come up with a decision but he just kept on walking closer and closer and she was just wasting time. What a lovely apprentice she was, not even able to make a decision. She shouted out the window, "KIMO WATCH OUT!!!" And hoped that she picked right.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 02, 2008 12:57 am

Upon seeing the burst of light, the black figure had run toward the back of the house. Kimo was pulled out of his thoughts of praise for his boy to turn at Domani's screech -- what was she doing!?!

Ooh-ho!

"Let me tell you something, SIR," The ground underneath the creep rumbled so that he fell flat on his butt. Elisa, now the little girl, came forward, directly in his line of vision, to glare as Diego spoke, "We here don't take kindly to those who---"

"Company!" Kimo's deep-warning caused a pause in Diego's speech as he and the two apprentices turned to the sound.

"---harm our kind." Diego's voice had gotten more threatening, "Watch yourself." He turned to Daniel as he spoke the last, silently waving for him to stay back.

Diego stepped out to the open, hands balled into fists. How dare someone come up to ruin their job?? How DARE he have the balls to come up in a complete disguise, "Stand back!" He challenged.

Sparkling lights came flying at Diego even as he spoke, landing at his feet and bursting there. Diego took several quick step backwards, now rumbling the ground under the other man.

"Harm on harm is foolishness," the dark figure snapped, "Killing him only proves his point."

"We came only to warn, and your a pathetic piece of existence to come aid! He would have you killed!" Diego answered back, pulling the ground now and causing this man to similarly fall.

"OUT." It was a command to Elisa and Daniel to leave.

Photon was on his feet again in a moment, hands sparking something awful. Diego wouldn't be able to match a power-evolved.

Domani watched the two fight, unsure how she'd be able to help Diego. And what was Kimo going to do for that matter? Two experienced Evos should be able to take down one who appeared highly experienced. And toss in a Daniel and an Elisa and that man should go down. She rubbed her cast, wishing her leg would hurry up and heal so she could help. She could always morph but that would hurt like hell instead of just feel odd and stretchy and would probably do some damage to her wound.

So she sat and watched and felt very useless and wondered if she was supposed to turn on the car. And how she was supposed to because T.V. isn't always the best place to learn such things.

Daniel wasn't sure whether Diego wanted him to stay back or not, but luckily, he stayed out of the intruder's attention. Who was this guy? Doubtless he had something to show off, or else he wouldn't even dare get close to this many Evolveds. And why was he even bothering? It wasn't as though they were actually going to hurt the man. And even if they were, he deserved it. He should have just stayed out of their affairs and let them get this over with. After all, he still hadn't had breakfast. The whole plan was meant to have gone by fast. This unexpected delay would set them back at least a few minutes.

Because of Kimo's influence, the Fire Evo had begun to watch more and more of the news. Possibly because their exploits might end up on the 6 o'clock, or just because he wanted to know what kind of information the television could give him about the state of things. Over the course of a few weeks, a lot of things had happened on the other side. But, of course, the one that impacted him most was the death of Avalanche. It stuck to his mind the firmest of all the reports. He had watched the feed from multiple channels, watching the same clip over and over until the newscasters got tired of it. By this point, he probably could have replayed the entire shaky scene by heart. Because of this, something clicked in his mind. Something that told him this guy was bad news.

It took him a few precious seconds to figure out what it was. It obviously wasn't the man's attire, as anyone could be wearing something of that nature. Neither was it his voice, because none of the newscasts had much speaking other than the occasional scream from some witness. No, it was those sparks, almost blinding with their brightness. The color, the size... "I'm not leaving! You need all the help you can get!" He yelled as Diego ordered him to leave. So what if it was an order? The other man didn't even seem to notice. But he knew at least one person who'd listen to him.

"Wailua, either we've got a really good imposter on our hands, or that's Photonspark!" Although he'd never really liked Avalanche that much, nor had he truly ever met him, the death of someone who at least held his basic views wasn't taken lightly by the teen at all. And who could pass up an opportunity like this? "I'm not leaving, rocky." He restated, again avoiding using everyone else's names. If it really was Photonspark, he could easily lead the police straight to them if he had their names, even if Diego and Elisa weren't from the country. In the end, his stubborn attitude might not help, but he was willing to at least try. He wasn't about to step foot off the battleground, even if it was shaking angrily beneath him.

Diego shot an annoyed look back to Daniel, "I told you to get." He growled. Stupid apprentice, not listening to him!

Photon?? What was his boy talking about? And if he thought so, what was he doing!?!?! Photon had killed Avalanche, he could easily take him out! Kimo felt the water in the rock beaches there, planning on forcing it out on top of Photon if need be, give Daniel a chance to gain some sense, but he knew he didn't have a tenth of the power Avalanche had had. This was going to end badly.

"Cease," Photon warned them, "If ya leave peaceably now, I ain't gonna harm ya. Just go."

That sounded good to Kimo.

The ground shook with Diego's frustration, "You're pathetic! He would rather you DIE..."

A spark of Photon's power came flying at Diego's face, just close enough to scare him and make him throw his arms in front of his face for protection, then it came and burst in front of the man -- a huge display of colorful lights, but almost all of it was harmless bluff. Only the sparks that encountered Daniel's fire popped threateningly.

"Best keep yer ugly hands away from the evolveds around here, they mean business, and I ain't liable to be around to stop them in the future. Got it?" The man just stared and stared and stared in shock, "GOT IT?" A wild nodding of the head. Photon looked back to Diego, "Drop the fire wall and get off his property. Your trespassing 'nd your threats are just as illegal as his condemnable actions. I'll deal with him. GET!"

"What---"

"Hey, come ON!" Kimo snapped as Diego started to argue again, "We did what we meant to and he said he'd handle it."

Diego didn't move right away.

OOC: Domani, I don't know how much of an answer you can give. <3 But never you worry.... Daaaaannnyy boy!

Domani twitched as all the sparks started flying. And Photonspark, possibly? That man.... She couldn't tell. Maybe. There were plenty of Evos that had Power.... powers so it might or might not be him.

But that was all moot when what she really wanted to do was limp over to Diego and whack him over the head with something metal and longish. Like a crutch, if she had brought one. THe guy in the house was probably terrified out of his mind at the thought of having an Evo fight on his front lawn and Diego probably would not be able to defeat the Evo in the front. SO there was no point to stick around except for his pride and, while she could understand that, his pride would take more damage if he ended up bleeding on the ground.

Daniel had to make a decision fast. He could either accept the fact that they weren't going to be able to get their job done today, or he could stand his ground stubbornly. He didn't want to get out until his job was done, but teven outnumbering him three to one they probably didn't stand much of a chance. Diego was strong, but not near as strong as Avalanche had been. Even with a triad of strong Evos, Photon probably had much more experience than all of them put together.

He threw his arm out in front of him, but it paused in mid-air. What should they do? Even if they were technically enemies, the guy seemed to have the same goal as they did. Except probably minus a lot of the intimidation and more talking. Boring, but if it worked, wasn't it just at good? His arm faltered, almost dropping. Even if they failed, if their goal was achieved, wasn't everything fine? Wasn't it? His arm went back up again.

Kimo was right.
He reluctantly dropped the fire wall that he'd been keeping up. It wasn't much, but with no food in his stomach, it might have well been sprinting a mile non-stop. The wall fell and disappeared into nothingness. "He's right." He wasn't positive of what he was deciding, but if Kimo said so, he must be positive that he was making the right decision. "Let's get out of here." Kimo's voice held more respect than his own, but maybe they could convince Diego if there was more than one person who agreed to leave.
