Well, no clue if you guys have been paying attention, but the GCD did something fairly impressive. Or something, I can't say I really understand much about what long range effects it had.
You see, some items are awful and terrible and need to be eliminated. I've said as much in the thread I made about the dead accounts. Well yesterday, a force of users from the GCD took steps to destory the Bee suit. And what did they do?
They giftraped the hell out of the admin and devs. Fleep alone got probably 70 Bee suits gifted to him. Needless to say Lanzer probably should just delete his entire inbox at this point. So, as a consequence the Bee suit went from 2g to 500g literally overnight.
There has been a lot and I mean a LOT of talk about the removal of items now that the admin are saddled with them. I wouldn't mind being able to sell off some of the crappier things, but some are talking like they are trying to get the admin to remove the items COMPLETELY. Next target seems to be the Gracie soccer ball with the swamp orbs close behind.
Now, like I said, I do want to get rid of some of the crap that has accumulated, but the magic tg orbs I kinda like. So I hope the admin don't just wipe those out of existence.

Well bravo to the members of the GCD who grew a spine!
While some of the items are decent there's a great deal of them that are just crap. A waste of the artists talent. I wonder what the next item will be. i'll help out with the extermination. 3nodding
I think we need to send a message that we have standards. Recently there seems to be a pattern of junk made just to satisfy users and the sponcers of the site. I'd rather not get anything.

Turns out they don't plan to do it with any other items. I went and asked them what they would be sending back to the staff next and they said they only sent the bee suit because it was all in good fun. Anything else might make staff mad. rolleyes

It was so fun rofl I wasn't there at the moment, but I read all the topics made about it.
I don't think they should do it again.. it was because they were bored and the bee suits are truly terrible, but if they start doing it with other items it'd become less original xp Something about people wanting to get attention.
@Vince: I heard the TOP3 were: Gracie's Ball, LABU Necklaces and the Ramen.

Even I admit Labu necklaces are a half decent item, however it was too easy to get them. I believe I still have at least a dozen left.

It wasn't created as a promotional item for some commerical venture? It's an honest to goodness event item. True the event was a little disappointing, but why does the item have to suffer?
